The tyranny of the experts is coming to an end ... maybe
Today on The Daily Breakdown - The Business Council of Australia releases a useless, pointless fact-free report into climate change - no wonder the left love it, and sanity returns to COVID policy as the experts are put back in their box. But all is not well in Queensland - just what has Unspellable been doing in the past 20 months?Dan Andrews without a maskQueensland hospitals in crisisCHO Brett Sutton put back in his boxSingapore linksSingaporeans take fright at relaxation of Covid restrictions ($)Singapore record cases not a bad thingRecord cases and vaccinesMOH Covid situationNorwayCases plunge after restrictions end

We deserve better from our 'betters'
We are treated like mugs. By our journalists, by our politicians, by our law enforcement bodies, by our ex-PMs - we are poorly served and they don't care. Our job is to cop it. At least, that's what they expect. This week on The Breakdown we examine the gutlessness of a 'journalist', how a single bad decision destroyed a premier, the overreach of ICAC, and how three of our ex-PMs are crapping on the country from a great height. We deserve better.War on women - blokes can do anythingSportswoman of the YearJessica Rowe and Pauline HansonJessica Rowe deletes Pauline Hanson podcastBerejiklian resignsSummary of Berejiklian-ICACICAC Section 11SubmarinesTurnbull craps on AustraliaRudd craps on AustraliaKeating craps on AustraliaChina craps on Australia (we expect that)(Doctored image from Pauline Hanson.)

What the hell's happening to Australia?
In the past week, Victoria Police has beaten the pulp out of Australians with batons, used capsicum spray and shot at our fellow citizens with rubber bullets - in broad daylight while the media cheered. Until, of course, the police turned on the media. Today on the Breakdown, what the freedom protests say about our media, our politicians and us.Protest reactionsLee Carnie makes the case for peaceful protests on the DrumPolice shoot rubber bullets at protestorsPhotographer assaulted by policeMan assaulted by policeIndigenous man leg swept in SydneyDaily Telegraph report of the incidentOfficer chargedChristian Porter/Sarah Hanson-YoungChristian Porter’s blind trust avoids ‘conflicts of interest’ (subscriber).

Christian Porter names his price
It took a while for Christian Porter to do the right thing, but it wasn't morality that made him resign, it was economics. He would rather take a million from a stranger than pay his own legal bill. Porter is a leaner, not a lifter. And Paul Keating escaped from the crypt this week to help Kristina Keneally. According to Keating, she's a migrant success story. Is she, Paul? Roadmap to freedom is a highway to hell
There's a roadmap out of lockdown but it's a highway to hell and vaccination won't help you. Your travel may still be limited in Australia, your movement will be tracked and your rights will be curtailed. This is not what Australia is meant to be. Our freedom is not meant to be negotiable. At least, it wasn't until COVID. And according to NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian, it could be like this for three or four more years, so 2020 and 2021 were just the warmups.Reporter backflips after Seven slaps him down‘Devastating’: Queensland man’s border blow after Sydney trip to save sister’s lifeSky News reporter Andrew Clennell hounds Gladys Berejiklian over Sydney lockdownAussie man suffers heart attack after cops arrest him for not wearing a mask while exercising OUTSIDE

It's China's world (we're just living in it)
A UN do-gooder has Zoomed into Australia to kill off the Australian coal industry. But in doing so, he has to ignore hundreds of years of economics, the reality of the global market and why Australian coal is good for the environment. If the UN was serious about climate change, they'd be badgering China. Good luck there. The Chinese are playing a tough game and they're running rings around the hapless west. Afghanistan: turning a s-hole into a s-show
It takes a special breed of idiot to make a poophole country like Afghanistan worse. Shuffle forward, Joe Biden. But he wasn't alone. He was supported by a crack team of imbeciles and woke dummies in the hierarchy of the US military, more concerned with gender than the agenda. Which raises the question: what's the US military for when it can't even beat mountain dwellers with well-lubed goats? And when was the last time the US actually won a war?For countries like Australia, which rely on the US, this is a frightening wake-up call. Which China is watching closely. On the plus side, it seems the state governments have finally figured we may have to learn to live with COVID - especially when the reality is that 92 per cent of COVID deaths in Australia have been in the over-70s but 88 per cent of infections have been in the under-70s.

Are the experts really back in charge?
Trump was an orange clown who had no idea what he was doing. But now we can relax. Take it easy. The experts are back in charge. Diplomacy is back. There's no way they'd do something so catastrophically, monumentally dunder-headed as ceding a strategically important country like Afghanistan to the goat-rogering child-murderers of the Taliban. That's crazy talk! And we meet the man whose taking it in from COVID and showing public service pays.

The left will win
On The Daily Breakdown - the Week that Went: The Taliban is about to take over Afghanistan. Who could have seen that coming? Oh yeah, everyone. And will the US really be giving them foreign aid? Sure, why not?And Joe Biden says Hunter is the smartest person he knows (that's probably true), but did you hear of Hunter's ingenious money-making scheme foiled by the Russians? And The Breakdown takes you behind the scenes of the media - it's a lesson in how the media works, and why the left will - inevitably and unfortunately - win.

What you gonna do when they come for you?
Sky News was taken off YouTube last week and you've probably heard a lot about it from media outlets - and former PMs - dancing on Sky's grave. But there is a lot more to the story: it goes to the heart of free speech, your ability to express ideas and, alarmingly, why the media can't be trusted to defend this essential freedom. This is a story that needs to be shared.

Fee, Fi, Fo, Pfizer
As eastern Australia goes into week four or five (does it matter, any more?) of a two-week lockdown to flatten the curve, the only way out is the vaccine. Finally, we have light at the end of the tunnel. But what have we signed up for? A leaked agreement from Pfizer shows what government are prepared to sign away to make sure you can get the jab. Anthony Albanese gets serious about winning the next election, and the ABC's budget bulldust.

The lockdown protests were a big mistake
Today on The Daily Breakdown - The Week That Went: we give an attaboy to some of the world's worst people, why I'm worried about the lockdowns protests, John Coates rains Unspellable's parade (from a great height), and why we should celebrate billionaires in space.

Lesbians don't like doodles
Broad statement here, but lesbians don't like doodles. Seems no one told the Tasmanian Anti-Discrimination Commissioner. She refused to grant an exemption to allow the Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual Alliance to exclude “biological men” from lesbian events. Yet again, women cop it - even if they're alphabet people. The Breakdown also addresses the latest lockdown lunacy, John Hewson becomes a victim of female quotas and Barnaby Joyce nails the climate question.

Let's do the lockdown again
If the COVID-19 Delta strain doesn't get you, relax, there are plenty more letters in the Greek alphabet. Believe it or not, we're up to the lambda variant. But there is other news (pity it's just as bad). "Climate action" is being legislated from the bench - although it's not the worst decision that judge has made. But on the plus side, creepy lawyer Michael Avenatti is going to prison, but so should the media that gave him oxygen.

The whiter face of Black Australia
In this episode of The Daily Breakdown - The Week That Went: Conflicting messages on COVID vaccinations - AZ is fine, just give up your legal rights. The left celebrates the death of Donald Rumsfeld, but how did they deal with the death of true evil? And what the hell is the use of conservative governments? Why do we keep electing them if they don't do anything that's actually conservative? Like defend free speech and get rid of garbage laws like 18C. Why raise 18C? Because 18C created an environment where people were afraid to question the bona fides of Dark Emu. Speaking of which, academics are addressing the cost to Black of Australia of Five-Minute Black Fellas. It's another debate 18C has helped stifle and it's time it was addressed.

Prayers for plums
Here we go again ... COVID lockdowns hit NSW and the ACT, Facebook doesn't trust you to understand satire so fact-checks testicles (yet the ABC couldn't fact check Dark Emu, interesting), and greedy fake-frogs want your money. Oh, and as a bonus, Hunter Biden has a new job! And this one is quite lucrative ... and totally above board. Just like all the other ones.

Head in the sand over Dark Emu
For seven years, the literary and media class has been fawning over Dark Emu, despite its obvious flaws. ABC hosts were particularly enamoured of the book and its author. And if you dared questioned the work, you were likely to be called a racist (as Andrew Bolt and everyone at Quadrant was). But now the wizard has been exposed. But will the journalists and politicians admit they were duped? Or will the fight to maintain the narrative? And we are meant to honour the judges and magistrates that sit on the bench - but shouldn't they have to earn that respect? It is time they were judged on the content of their character instead of the colour of their robes? This week, meet two judges who dishonour their honours.
66 minutes | Jun 13, 2021
The narrative must be defended no matter what
This week on The Week that Went, we explore how narratives take hold, and why they are so important. When a political narrative takes hold, it is almost impossible to change it - whether it is 'Scotty from marketing', Russian collusion, COVID from bats or using troops to clear a park for a photo-op ... and even when evidence stacks against them, the media - the gatekeepers - can keep the truth quiet. Especially when they're embarrassed by it.And Senator Kim Carr doesn't think Australia should keep an eye on our researchers working with China. Why? Does he think they're a mate?

Tyranny of the experts
Scientists are our new overlords - we trust them to make decisions with cool regard only for the facts, guided by truth and knowledge. But what if these experts are as venal, shallow and weak as the rest of us? As susceptible to flattery, money and power as you (not me, I'm perfect!) If Fauci's emails are any guide, they are - so shouldn't it be reported?
72 minutes | May 30, 2021
WHO do you trust?
For an entire year, you were told that it was a mad conspiracy theory to think that COVID-19 could have come out of a lab in Wuhan. Now it seems, the media - and the social media overlords - have realised it might be possible after all. You can even say so on Facebook! In this episode we chronicle an extraordinary week in which the dominos started to fall and the real conspiracy to protect China was exposed - it will genuinely shock you.But it wasn't the only "conspiracy theory" to see the light. There's more than one we got right ... but this one is being kept quiet. For now.
