The Homeschool Board (Guide For Kids to Take Ownership in Homeschool)
EP 16||. In this episode, I am going to be going over The Homeschool Board.  This is a tool that I stole from my friends The Torress Family.  I saw it in their house and I thought it was an awesome idea.  You can follow Heather Torres Homeschool channel on the link below.  The Homeschool Board is a great way for children to know what their day looks like, have a role in how they contribute to the home and get a say in what they want to learn and grow in.  It makes homeschooling so much easier because it takes the responsibility of me making my kids run down the list of things to do and puts it on them to follow through and own it.Heather Torress Youtube Channelhttps://www.youtube.com/user/hiktorresThis podcast is for Homeschooling Dads looking to LEAD their Family in all areas as the Principal of their Homeschool.  And whether or not you are Homeschooling I want to encourage you that homeschool is also a mindset and even if your kids go to public school there are still some great takeaways to lead your family.

Breaking the Box
Ep 15||. What does it mean to break the box?  I felt this was something the Lord showed me as I did something I have never done before.  I ran Red Rock.  Red Rock is 15 miles of uphill and downhill road through the mountains.  It is usually driven down and people get off and do hikes or just take the scenic drive.  Most don't run it, because it is a one-way trip.  So here I am running 5x my normal run of 3 miles and I keep hearing breaking the box.  What does it mean?  It means to challenge yourself to what you can accomplish.  Break the box that we put ourselves in.  Challenges are a good thing and more often than not we find ourselves relying on being comfortable.  So take action, challenge yourself, your kids, your family, your homeschool, and do things differently.  Adventure into the unknown.

Biblical Parenting Learning to Be Content
EP 14||. Do you struggle with being content?  Do you find that your kids struggle with the same heart issue of being content?  Is it something that some people have or is it something that can be taught and learned?  I struggle with this and my kids struggle with it as well, but I am happy (and relieved) to find out that it is something to be learned as Paul says "I have LEARNED to be CONTENT in all things".  In this episode, I explore the ideas and how I have been learning to be content so I can model that for my children.  This podcast is for Homeschooling Dads looking to LEAD their Family in all areas as the Principal of their Homeschool.  And whether or not you are Homeschooling I want to encourage you that homeschool is also a mindset and even if your kids go to public school there are still some great takeaways to lead your family.

The Importance of Building Relationships
EP 13||.   Sometimes we can get caught in the act of "getting things done" and the continued pressure we put on our kids can wear the relationship down.  In this episode, I talk about building relationships with our kids, so when we have to go to that "getting things done" category, it will be so much better because we have made deposits into the relationship. Also, I would love to connect with you Dad's out there.  I just started a FB group called....wait for it...The Dad Schooler.  I hope that as this podcast and youtube community grow, we can share best practices and grow together in leading our Homeschool Families. You can also find me on Youtube @ The Dad Schooler as well as IG @thedadschoolerIf you are new please consider SUBSCRIBING to this Podcast and being apart of our community.  And if you really like the podcast it would help greatly if you left us a 5-star rating and review.

I Am Now a Biblical Parenting Coach
EP 12||. I did it!  This has been something that has been on my mind for years and I finally bit the bullet and did the course.  I am now a certified Biblical Parenting Coach from the National Center for Biblical Parenting.  In this episode, I explain what that is and how I believe it can help parents.  It has helped me in my parenting style as well as helped my relationship with God.  Parenting is a big part of Homeschool.  If we are struggling to have a working relationship with our children in everyday life, then we will definitely be struggling in Homeschool.  Even more now as parents are working from home and kids are still doing school at home due to Covid.  Like I said in episodes past, it doesn't matter if you "homeschool", Homeschool is life and we can bring that aspect into all that we do.Also, I would love to connect with you Dad's out there.

What is Homeschool?
Ep 10||. What is Homeschool?  Homeschool to me is life learning.  Simply put it is everything.  It is teaching our children to be lovers of learning and taking lessons in everyday life.  This idea came because my wife asked me why am I talking about parenting or leadership.  These things I believe fall under the umbrella of Homeschool.   We are parenting to build character and teach healthy responses to life.  We are being leaders in our homes so we can model to our children what a leader should look like, so our sons can be leaders and our daughters will know what guy to marry.  Our marriage is a teaching tool for kids so they know what a healthy marriage looks like.  All this and more fall under the umbrella of Homeschool.

From Ordinary to Extraordinary
Ep 09||  "It is ingrained in us that we have to do exceptional things for God, but we do not.  We have to be exceptional in the ordinary things of life"  Oswald Chambers.  I am an impulsive person, and it can be easy to define one's life by the extraordinary...but what about the ordinary things?  How do you perform ordinary tasks?  The things that don't seem to matter, the things that are not Instagram worthy?  This was a hard lesson, but a lesson nonetheless in taking pride in the ordinary.  In praying for my family, in giving hugs vs expectations of a well-structured home.  Loving on your family.

Public School VS Homeschool
Ep 5 || Public School VS Homeschool!  DING DING!  This has been a big debate and my goal here is to present to side of thinking that I (emphasis on the I) have come across in talking with other MEN about Homeschool.  I came from a public school background and honestly, I had no qualms about it.  So I can definitely understand some of the concerns of most dads, and since COVID, I think many of us are faced with a choice now between Public School and Homeschool.  I hope this perspective brings value to your decision or just confirmation as to why you as a family have decided to homeschool.  If you are new please consider SUBSCRIBING to this Podcast, and if you really like it can you please leave me a 5-star review.  It helps the Podcast grow and reach more dads and hopefully encourage the movement of Fathers in Homeschool. If you want to connect you can email me thedadschooler@gmail.comYou can also check out my Youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC56IadGUlOZO_ZTNNPIoeBA?view_as=subscriberAlso, big thanks to the awesome music by my cousin Jawsh can be found athttps://soundcloud.com/jawshcrespomusic
