On location in my home town Chicago, I got the chance to start off the new season right, with comedy vet & Chi-town native Damon Williams. We chatted about the Scottie Pippen book crusade, the start of Damon's comedy journey, his experiences with the legendary Comic View & Def Comedy Jam, and the many comics that have put Chicago comedy on the map! I also give my spill on the Rittenhouse verdict, give props to a venue that allowed me to grace their stage, & start a new ongoing segment...

We chat about the process of producing a podcast, memorable interviews, and what continues to inspire Joel to do his podcast... Detroit stand up! Mel caught up with one of his Michigan comedy peers for an awesome interview. Joshua Adams spills about his comedy journey, his moves to LA & NY, and his merch moniker "So Slept On"... Mel also gives his take on bonnets in public, to vaccinate or not to vaccinate, and talks future guests on the pod!!!

After a brief delay, Mel finally got to sit and chat with rising stand up comic, TV & film star Barry Brewer. They discuss Barry crushing his role on Tyler Perry's TV show Bruh, his rise to notoriety from his social media presence, and his amazingly done comedy special on Amazon Prime... Mel also gives a "Chicago style" BITDS, talks about the ladies goin crazy over Ron Isley, & shares a bonus set of his return to the stage (at the very end of the episode, so keep listening)!!!

Mel finally tracked down one of his favorite comics and got a boss interview! Philly's own TuRae speaks of his origins in comedy, how his grind made him good, and tells heartfelt, detailed stories about his friend the late Patrice O'Neal... Of course Mel delivers his shoutouts, gives a new trivia question, and a hilarious BITDS!

Host Meldon Williams catches up with stand up comic and social media favorite D'Lai! They chat about D'Lai's early comedy journey as a black jack dealer extraordinaire, all the way up to touring with Bill Bellamy, TV appearances, and gaining 258,000 Instagram followers. Mel also spills about his outlook during his personal grind, says thanks to the comics that said "no", and gives a BITDS(BackInTheDaySponsor). 

On location in LA, Mel got the chance to sit down with Ricarlo Flanagan, a comedy counterpart from back in his early days of comedy. They reminisced about both starting out at the Ann Arbor Comedy Showcase, Ricarlo's rise in popularity in Michigan, and of course his migration to LA, and becoming a player in Hollywood with his numerous TV show appearances.

Mel gets another "bucket list" interview, getting the chance to chat with Kings Of Comedy, and best selling author DL Hughley! DL provides tons of notable quotes, as they discuss his growing up in South Central, his relationship with Robin Harris, and his groundbreaking comedy tours and television show... After a lot of requests, Mel finally lands an interview with TV/Film star Brian Hooks! On location in LA, Brian fell through & gave a super cool interview, discussing his comedy journey, his most notable roles, and even broke news about exciting new projects he has in store... Mel gives his shoutouts, does a hilarious BITDS, and chats about the importance of "stayin in your lane" as a comedian.

This go round, on location in the ATL, stand up comedy stage killer Steve Brown! With over 20 years in the game, Steve chats about his career beginning in college, his memorable bits on Comic View, and his infamous incident during a performance in South Carolina... Mel brings back the hilarious BITDS, as well as special shout outs.

A real good look to interview a comic with such history & experience as the amazing Hope Flood! We chatted after her set at Uptown Comedy Corner(in the ATL), & she talked about her days at Def Comedy Jam, Comic View, the comics she came up with, her comedy convention, & her extra curricular ventures. Mel gets to interview comedy vet Sean Larkins, a Detroit native who began his comedy journey in the ATL. They chat about Sean's ties to the "D", him hosting a tough room starting out, and how touring with Ced The Entertainer helped land him a spot as a writer for the hit sitcom The Neighborhood.
