Imagine a situation in which someone commits a crime, is found guilty, and then the normal prison sentence for this specific crime would be heavily reduced just based on the fact that this person wants to become a parent in the future. Amanda Knox, an American woman who was sentenced to prison for the murder of her roommate in Italy and a few years later acquitted of this charge, in an interview published by People Magazine stated that "women's fertility should be taken into account with prison sentencing."
