Anybody else feel like running? This week's music captures the pent up feelings we have these days when all we want to do is run like hell, somewhere, anywhere. We also do a reality check on where we are at with five weeks left in this WTF year and why it's so important to adjust to the marathon we're in. Thank you to new patron, Loren Dixon for sponsoring The New Music Spotlight this week with two absolutely fantastic artists: Wyn Starks and Saint Nomad. You will love their music. Plus news from NY's first restaurant to do rapid tests on site for $50 in order to eat in an established "negative" environment. And we wish my mom, The World's Greatest Joke Teller a very happy 90th birthday as the tears flow with this week's The Joke of the Week. Enjoy Thank you to New Thought Media Network for adding the show to it's line-up of positive vibin' shows!

Celebrating 40 years behind the mic this month with my first interview and another new patron! Thank you Lila Vogt for sponsoring this week's The New Music Spotlight and talk about what's good and new. Two new artists, both in their early twenties, both exceptional songwriters and singers achieving a emotional depth that often comes with many more years of honing one's craft but not for these two. First, it's Cobi and his tremendous new song, Faith in Tomorrow. POWERFUL. Next up Briston Maroney who at 22 years of age is already amassing a huge fan base and you know why with his new song, Deep Sea Diver. Plus, Happy 75th Birthday to Neil Young, The Joke of the Week goes there and we take some time to digest what's happening in our country and how and why denial works, something I know alittle bit about. Yep, a November to remember! Enjoy.

Mr. Moonlight is shining bright this weekend with the second full moon of the month, known as a blue moon. The phrase, "once in a blue moon" comes from the rare ocassion of having two full moons in one month but that's what makes it Rocktober! It's the first full moon to fall on Halloween in 76 years!! Sounds like 2020 to me. With it, though, comes a big dose of emotions and we let the music do the soothing. Another listeners says yes to becoming a Patron with a monthly membership! Thank you Cindy Decker for sponsoring this week's The New Music Spotlight featuring the first music from Stevie Wonder in 15 years! He's also moved on from Motown Records after 60 years. Featuring Gary Clark Jr, Where is Our Love Song was started by Stevie when he was 18 years old. Such is the case with If I Was the Priest written by Bruce Springsteen when he was in his early 20's. Two legendary artists in their seventies bringing their songwriting full circle. Speaking of full circle, it's been seven years since I left Alaska and though I had no idea what was to be clearly something did. Enjoy. Here's the other song Stevie Wonder has put out ahead of the new album.

This week Sammy Hagar and Eddie Van Halen as well as Lindsey Buckingham and Mick Fleetwood teach us the power of forgiveness and making amends before it's too late. We also honor Johnny Nash who died this week and Tom Petty who would have been 70 on October 20th. In fact, two previously unheard songs from Tom Petty's long anticipated re-issue of his Wildflowers album, "Wildflowers and All the Rest" kick off The New Music Spotlight that includes the powerful new song from Demi Lovato called, Commander in Chief. Cheers to our new listener in London who is helping the show grow in the UK, plus, a bit about this weekend's Women's March and why anger and outrage is the new lady-like. To wrap it up, The World's Greatest Joke Teller with The Joke of the Week! Enjoy. Like the show? Look forward to it? Can't stop listening?! Rocktober begins with, well, some rock with The Stones offering a theme song for 2020 and me doing my impersonation of Robert Plant! News about John Lennon's 80th birthday show next week and, for the first time ever, the online presentation of The John Lennon Tribute Concert from the wonderful organization, Theatre Within. Plus The New Music Spotlight brought to you this week by Patron Dale Chavie featuring a fabulous new one from Joan Osborne, Take It Any Way I Can Get it and Aaron David Gleason's collaboration with Lauren Marcus for their beautiful song, Less of Me. This week's show sees the convergence of the physical death of the Notorious Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the binge watching of "The Last Dance," the story of Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls and the release of the second new Bruce Springsteen song, Ghosts from the forthcoming new E Street Band album, "Letter to You." Turns out there is a common thread amongst these three pop icons which I reveal as I weave my way through each starting with the remarkable Justice Ginsburg. Better hold on to your rock n roll hat this week, batten down the hatches too because this ship is full speed ahead! Enjoy. You can support the show by becoming a Patron! Suddenly, it's last summer. Wow. It's over already and we pay tribute to these last days of innocence as we get the show going. Personal transformation is the theme for this week's artist inside The New Music Spotlight with Nahko & Medicine for the People's new one, "Take Back Your Power," an 18 song manifesto addressing learning to love yourself. Elle King has her own thoughts on self-love and transformation in her new one, The Let Go and from Santa Monica, the lovely sounds of Cayucas and Yeah, Yeah, Yeah. Plus, my tribute to radio colleague, Len Anderson and Toots Hibbert, bringing relief to those affected by the fires in Oregon and a much needed gut buster from my mom, The World's Greatest Joke Teller delivering without a doubt one of her best with The Joke of the Week. Yep. It's SHOWTIME! Here's that article about Nahko.

Why on earth would it ever take me four hours to do my show when it only took Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band only FIVE days to record their new album? The 19th Anniversary of 9/11, wildfires, the mystical experience of grace and Springsteen's sage advice to the students of Boston College had everything to do with it. Plus the E Street Band's 20th studio album is coming out October 23rd and the new single and title track, "Letter to You" is featured inside The New Music Spotlight sponsored by Patron Jill Robinson! You just never know. Enjoy. To become a Patron of The Camille Conte Show click here. Feeling horny? Me too and why not! It's the end of July already so blow man blow. In music news, Jagger, Blondie, Lorde, Elvis Costello and others ask Congress for some new rules around politicians using an artist's music. The new rule being, of course, that they have to ask first. The show has it's second Patron from Alaska. Thanks so much to Sue and Tom May, sponsors of this week's New Music Spotlight. Under that bright lights from San Antonio, The Last Bandoleros and from Perth, Tame Impala two new bands for the show. Plus a few thougths about acceptance and The World's Greatest Joke Teller sings a song before telling The Joke of the Week. Damn. It's a good one. Enjoy. Here's the "In Loving Memory" event page. Please share this and help us spread the word. If you'd like to become a sponsor, click here. And here's the new podcast, "The Confusion Experiment." It's really good!

This week on the show CC narrates Bruce Springsteen, talks about sex, plays a lot of great summertime music, offers part two of "What They are Saying" which features artists like David Crosby and Buddy Guy this week who talk about the effects this virus has had on them and the music industry and of course, The New Music Spotlight featuring a new band for the show, The War & Treaty with their new song Five More Minutes and a dancer from Saint Motel and the latest tune called Preach. Oh, and you'll never guess who just put out their first ever (a band's first ever!!) line of deodorant? Oh the irony. Turn it up!
