THE FINAL EPISODE. Aaron Bedard (BANE) "Goodbye."
This one is dedicated to Brendan "Stu" Maguire. This is the third time I've had Aaron on the podcast. One of my favorite people to chop it up with for sure. As you already may know, whenever I record an episode, there's no telling what direction it will go. This one is no exception. I reached out to him a few months back to come back on the show, but the timing just wasn't right, and rightfully so with the passing of Stu, the surprise set Bane did at the "We're With Stu" benefit show, in which he was supposed to be at and several other factors. So, I gave it time... and here we are. The timing this time around was impeccable. "Letting go is never easy to do Everyday's a new door that we all must go through..." Thank you all for listening. Respect. Goodbye. On YouTube and all podcast platforms here: https://linktr.ee/thebrooklynblastfurnace

King Ov Hell. (Gorgoroth. God Seed. Abbath. Ov Hell. Audrey Horne. I. Sahg)
Hail! Legendary Norwegian Black Metal musician... Tom Visnes... better known as "King ov Hell" or simply, "King". He has played in several bands from Gorgoroth, God Seed, Abbath, Ov Hell, Audrey Horne, Sahg and I. We talk a little bit about his bands and black metal. How he was literally charged in a court of law for blasphemy... but mostly about the state of the world and the insane amount of deceit that has been slowly brainwashing society over hundreds of years. From government to falling in line with political ideology, religion, climate change, covid and flat earth. Yes... flat earth. We discuss all of it. Super interesting guy for sure. John "Porcell" Porcelly. (Youth Of Today. Judge. Shelter. Project X. True Till Death)
One of the founding members of two of my all-time favorite Straight Edge Hardcore bands... "Youth Of Today" and "Judge" as well as "Project X" and "Shelter". He's done stints in "Bold", and "Gorilla Biscuits". He ran "Schizm" Records and currently owns a Straight Edge clothing line, "True Till Death". My guest on Episode 252 of The Brooklyn Blast Furnace Podcast is none other than John "Porcell" Porcelly (Paramananda Dasa), also known as The Hardcore Yogi. This conversation felt like it was 15 minutes long. We start off with his Yoga practice and where you can find him online to participate, then quickly go into how he grew up, his early influences, his first bands, the formation, break-up and reformation of "Youth Of Today", the same with "Judge", new music he's working on with a new band, new "Shelter" music and the indescribable feeling of when you hear that particular song at a specific time in your life that literally changes your entire path. This was an awesome opportunity. Jake Bulldog & Enzo D. (Dogz Of War - Detroit Hardcore)
Detroit Hardcore! Way back on Episode 185, I had Enzo D. on the podcast... he's back again, but this time he's joined by his brother Jake Bulldog on Episode 251 of The Brooklyn Blast Furnace Podcast. We chop it up about what's new with their band Dogz of War Detroit Hard Core, their long anticipated new record, being signed to a label, as well as a bunch of banter and old Detroit stories. When hardcore guys are on the show, the usual suspects are always mentioned... Jeff Gunnells from Cold As Life, BEAST from H8Inc., Ratbones and Rawn Beauty. It's always a good time speaking with the guys from the D. They all have an open door policy whenever they feel like talking or promoting something they're working on. Respect. Bonus - Craig Ahead. (Sick Of It All. Agnostic Front. Straight Ahead. Youth Of Today)
I always enjoy speaking with my friend Craig Ahead. So, we decided to set up another episode to talk smack. It worked out perfectly since this is released on the 23rd Anniversary of the Sick Of It All record "Call To Arms". We speak a little bit on that record and then go into some old "Youth Of Today" stories when he was on tour with them. We go into some Agnostic Front stories from the "One Voice" era, then go into how Vinnie Stigma's house is haunted. From hardcore to ghosts to pizza and coffee. Always fun choppin' it up with Craig. Another opportunity I never saw myself having. My guest on Episode 249 of The Brooklyn Blast Furnace Podcast is the incredible Jeff Kober! Known for his roles in "The First Power", "China Beach", "The Walking Dead", "Sons of Anarchy" and tons more. I had a lot of fun speaking with this man. The directions we went in were completely unexpected. A super cool, humble guy. We of course speak about his roles in several of his movies and television shows. We speak about meditation and mindset, materialism, a bunch of banter and his tintype photography. I truly hope you enjoy this. Respect. Bonus - Gary Sales. (Producer. Writer. "Madman" 40 Year Anniversary)
Independent filmmaker. From low budget horror films to multimillion dollar budget movies. My guest is Gary Sales. I reached out to Gary in order to commemorate the 40th Anniversary of the release of "Madman". It was released on New Years Day 1982. The nostalgia factor of this movie for me personally is huge. The first ever horror movie that I saw in the teater. At the ripe old age of six years old, by myself at the Canarsie Movie Theater in Brooklyn. We speak about his work on movies like, "Just Cause" with Sean Connery and Billy Baldwin and "The Girl on the Train" then get into "Madman" and the reboot. From film to the days of Beta Max and VHS tapes to the rise of the slasher era and the VCR craze to what's happening now in the digital age. A wealth of knowledge and in my opinion, an unsung, underrated filmmaker. He was on my bucket list of people to speak with. I enjoyed this one a lot and glad he took time out for me. I hope you enjoy it as well. Respect. Paul Ehlers. ("Madman Marz" - "Madman" 40 Year Anniversary)
"The Legend Lives!" Another conversation that I thought I would never have. A man who has had a lasting impact on me since I was six years old. I met him briefly in 2016 at a convention; but literally forty years after I saw it in theaters, I had this opportunity. My guest on Episode 248 of The Brooklyn Blast Furnace Podcast is Paul Ehlers... mostly know for his role as "Madman Marz" in the movie "Madman". This low budget horror movie has been stuck with me since I saw it in the theater. I never thought that one day I'd speak about making the film and that he would be such a genuine, down to earth man. He still loves and appreciates his fans and it shows. I hope you enjoy this one. Respect. Bonus - Tom Candela. ("Richie" - "Madman" 40 Year Anniversary)
Commemorating the 40 Year Release of the cult horror classic "Madman"... my guest on this bonus episode of The Brooklyn Blast Furnace is Tom Candela. Credited as "Jimmy Steele" in the movie, he played "Richie", the loud mouth teenager who screams out "Madman Marz'" name and sets off the rest of the movie with Madman killing everyone else in the film while he survives. I honestly thought this was going to be a mini episode that would be a half hour long at the most. We go into the filming of the movie and the enormous underground cult following of this film. The impact it had on horror fans of my generation and why it had such an impact on me. Tom was easy to talk to and we didn't even realize how long we were going. This was an awesome trip down memory lane for the both of us. I hope you enjoy this. It's definitely a deep cut but absolutely worth a listen. Respect. David A. Armstrong. (Cinematographer. SAW I-VI. Hellraiser: Revelations. Pawn. MTV Cribs)
A director, cinematographer, and producer known for his work on the first six "SAW" movies, "Hellraiser: Revelations", "The Gravedancers", "Skinwalkers", "2:13", "Pawn", dozens of episodes of MTV Cribs and so much more... my guest on Episode 247 is David A. Armstrong. I reached out to him on q whim after watching the first "SAW" movie for the first time in a while. not expecting to even hear back. We exchanged numbers and hit it off with a regular phone call then scheduled this episode. We go into a lot here. Behind the scenes of the "SAW" movies, especially the first one. Between the restricted, relatively small budget, timing and logistics of the film, it was a small miracle that it was even made. We talk MTV Cribs, his directorial debut working with Ray Liotta on "Pawn", and the reasoning behind the making of "Hellraiser: Revelations". A very cool look behind the scenes and a bunch of banter. It was an honor to speak with him. I hope you enjoy. Respect. Bob Elmore. (Stuntman. The Real "Leatherface" The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2)
When horror fans think of "Leatherface" from the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, they think "Gunnar Hansen", and rightfully so. When the same people think "Leatherface" from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2, they SHOULD think of my guest on Episode 246 of The Brooklyn Blast Furnace... stuntman Bob Elmore. It's ridiculous how somebody else gets the credit for that role but literally had just two close-up shots in the entire movie. I recorded a short mini episode with him at the New Jersey Horror Con a couple years back and felt we needed to have a full conversation about his body of work. He doubled for John Candy in six movies... "Spaceballs", "Who's Harry Crumb?", "Only the Lonely", "Nothing But Trouble" and "Uncle Buck". He played the executioner in the first and third installment of "Pirates of the Caribbean", he had a small role in "Casino" with a career spanning close to thirty years. Bob is an awesome guy. Enjoy. Bonus - Alexa Ferrari. (Jimmy's Daughter. Location Scouting. The Basketball Diaries & Titanic)
My daughter Alexa has been asking me when she can come onto the podcast for awhile now. She's been on twice in the past, Episode 19 and a Bonus Mini Episode. So, we were bored on a Sunday night and decided to sit down and have a little chat about a couple things she enjoys. Especially the movies "The Basketball Diaries" and "Titanic" as well as the true history of the ship. We talk about our little vacation to Tennessee as well as some banter throughout. She's the reason I do everything. My only blood relative and my entire world. I hope you enjoy this family friendly (sort of) episode. Thanks for listening.

William Brent Bell. (Director. The Devil Inside. The Boy. Wer. Orphan: First Kill)
"The Devil Inside", "Stay Alive", "The Boy", "Brahms: The Boy II", "Wer", "Separation" and the upcoming prequel, "Orphan: First Kill" are all directed by my guest on Episode 245 of The Brooklyn Blast Furnace Podcast, William Brent Bell. We had a super cool, laid back conversation about his previous movies, working on "Orphan: First Kill" and his new movie which is in post-production called "Lord of Misrule". I wanted to talk about the movie "Wer", which is criminally underrated and not very well known, well, now I know the reasoning behind that. Working on "The Boy" with Lauren Cohen and the "slow burn" approach he takes with a lot of his films. The concept behind his movie "Separation" was born from an odd place, a movie we both loved as a kid. A very personable, down to earth guy who is simply a fan of movies and carved his own path. I hope you enjoy this one because he'll be back when "Orphan: First Kill" gets released. Respect. Tony Denison. (Actor. Crime Story. The Closer. Major Crimes. Playmakers. Melrose Place)
Actor, New Yorker and all around stand-up guy. Tony Denison is my guest on Episode 244 of The Brooklyn Blast Furnace Podcast. Tony got his big break in 1986 with his role as "Ray Luca" on the show "Crime Story" alongside Dennis Farina. We go heavily into how he got the role, the show itself and the absolutely ridiculous cast. In my opinion, one of the most criminally underrated shows ever. From the streets of Harlem to television and movies. He's starred in everything from "The Closer" to it's spin-off, "Major Crimes", which amounts to over 200 episodes between just those two shows alone. From "Coach George" in ESPN's "Playmakers" to "Melrose Place", "Prison Break" and "All Rise" to playing Joey Buttafuoco in "The Amy Fisher Story" with Drew Barrymore, John Gotti in "Getting Gotti", "Men of War" with Dolph Lundgren and "Full Eclipse" with Mario Van Peebles just to name a few. Tony has and continues to have an amazing career and would be honored to have him back on the podcast in the future. Enjoy! On this Special Bonus Episode of The Brooklyn Blast Furnace Podcast, I have Tony Moran who you might know as the unmasked Michael Myers from the original "Halloween", Felissa Rose who played "Angela Baker" in the 1983 cult classic horror movie "Sleepaway Camp", Harry Bean, also known as DJ Munchies from the "Days Of The Dead" horror convention and Neena, from the Discord app, tech and NFT expert. We put this panel together to discuss the first ever launch of NFT's with a horror icon... Tony Moran. With NFT's coming soon from Felissa Rose and much more on the horizon. This is an inside look at what an NFT is, where to purchase them and what to expect. This is literally a historic NFT drop. The first ever to include horror icons. Listen closely in on this one. Vincente DiSanti. (Filmmaker. Womp Stomp Films. Never Hike Alone. 13 Fanboy)
Vinny is a film worker. Filmmaker, Director, Producer, Writer and Actor. He created "Womp Stomp Films", an independent film company that has been consistently putting out quality movies and shorts for several years now. Being a huge fan of the "Friday the 13th" franchise, I needed to reach out to him in order to discuss his brilliant fan film series "Never Hike Alone". One of my favorite fan film I've seen so far. We, well... he goes heavily into the making "Never Hike Alone" and the prequel, "Never Hike In The Snow", the concept, the concept behind "Ghost Jason" and the return of "Friday the 13th" alumni, Thom Mathews who reprises his role as "Tommy Jarvis" from Part 6. From the "Never Hike Alone" films to a couple "Halloween" fan films, to his role in Deborah Voorhees' film, "13 Fanboy". This was a great conversation and hopefully when the new "Never Hike Alone" installment is done, he'll be back to talk about that as well. Enjoy! Damien Maffei. (The Strangers: Prey at Night. Haunt. Wrong Turn. Dark Circles)
First off, have a Happy New Year everyone! Thank you for listening and helping grow this podcast. You're all appreciated! You may know him as "The Man in the Mask" from "The Strangers: Prey at Night", or the devil in "Haunt"... or maybe the Deerskull wearing guy from "Wrong Turn". My guest on Episode 242 of The Brooklyn Blast Furnace Podcast is actor, Damian Maffei. Born in Queens, running around the woods on Long Island with a camcorder attempting to make a "Friday the 13th" sequel as a kid. A true fan of horror turned actor in many horror movies. We speak about "The Strangers", "Haunt" and "Wrong Turn" and then go off the rails speaking about our favorire slasher movies and how he visits Claude Rains' (The Invisible Man) grave at least once a year. This was cool to do. And once again, Happy New Year! Enjoy.
