In this episode, Dr. Earl discusses self-care and coping with COVID-19. Practicing self-care is important during this time given the self-isolation, stress, and working from home. In this episode, Dr. Earl invited some of his friends to join as a panel of mental health experts. Dr. Candice Nicole Hargons, PhD shares her tips as a working mom, Dr. DéLon Isom, PhD discusses how music is helpful for coping, and Dr. Angela L. Harris, PsyD provides her perspective on spirituality and self-care.

Dr. Hargons is an assistant professor of counseling psychology at the University of Kentucky (UK), where she studies sex, social justice, and leadership – all with a love ethic. She is an award-winning qualitative researcher, teacher, leader, and healer. Additionally, Dr. Hargons is the founder of the Center for Healing Racial Trauma. Dr. Isom is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist and his specialties include both adolescent and forensic psychology. He completed his internship at Bexar County Juvenile Probation in San Antonio, Texas and a postdoctoral fellowship in Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine at Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. He currently serves as the Director of Research and Administration and Intake Coordinator for the Howard University Counseling Service. His research interests include culturally proficient assessment and service delivery for minoritized groups and communities.
Dr. Harris is a mental health and wellness advocate, motivational speaker, workshop facilitator, author, and the creator of the #NoBibsBurpsBottles: Stories of African American Women without Children blog and podcast brand. Dr. Harris strives to promote an intersection of spiritual, emotional, physical and psychological well-being. She also celebrates and highlights African American women, 30+y/o, who are living their best childfree life. Dr. Harris truly believes she is living out her purpose and she is excited to share her God given talents and gifts with the world.
