After an activity-filled 48 hours, The Box Out for its regular weekly episode.  James Harden was introduced on Friday as the newest member of the Brooklyn Nets. The perennial All-Star comes to Brooklyn after a bad breakup in Houston, and while everyone is saying the right things, there are still a ton of questions concerning this move for the Nets. Kyrie Irving will be returning from his self-imposed exile this weekend, but there is a lot we still don't know about his absence or his love for basketball. Will this move blow up in the face of general manager Sean Marks? This week saw nine games postponed due to COVID-19 tests and contact tracing. The NBA put stricter guidelines in place as many believe that much of the blame for these new issues falls on players. The guys will discuss whether it is time for the NBA to look at if the season should take a pause.  Those stories and more, including whether the 76ers dodged a bullet in not trading for James Harden, on an all-new episode of The Box Out. 

It's time for an emergency podcast from the guys of The Box Out. And this time it's for an important story that happened on Wednesday. James Harden was traded to the Nets in a blockbuster four-team trade on Wednesday afternoon.  The Nets parted with Crais LeVert, Jarrett Allen, Taurean Prince, and Rodions Kurucs as Brooklyn moved to win mode this season. The trade as Kyrie Irving continues his self-imposed exile from the Nets that has lasted for four games.  What does this trade mean for the Nets in the future? Did Brooklyn trade a future star in LeVert? Can Steve Nash handle what the Nets became on Wednesday? All these questions will be answered on a new LIVE emergency edition of The Box Out with Jason and Kahlil. 

The Box Out returns as the show celebrates four years on the air this week on a special Friday edition of the podcast. We have our first issue for the Brooklyn Nets, and of course, it includes Kyrie Irving. Before Thursday's game against the 76ers, Irving was announced as out due to personal reasons. It later was revealed that the star guard did not want to play last night, so he didn't play. Head coach Steve Nash didn't even know that Irving wasn't going to play until 90 minutes before game time. Is this the beginning of a problem or just something small?  Just a few miles away, the Knicks is starting to look like a team after years of floundering. At 5-3, New York is playing hard, playing defense and playing to win. Julius Randle looks like an All-Star, and Austin Rivers looks like the guard they have been searching for over the last few seasons. Could the Knicks make the playoffs this year? The Box Out returns to the airwaves for the final show in 2020 for Jason and Kahlil.  The Nets have dropped two in a row after impressive wins over Golden State and Boston on Christmas. Spencer Dinwiddie suffered a partially torn ACL and will miss time, which shortens a deep, but fragile bench. Are the Nets still the team to beat in the Eastern Conference? James Harden Trade Watch is underway as the Houston Rockets are 0-2 and had a game postponed due reportedly to Harden and others not being responsible, causing the team to miss their opener against Portland. According to reports, Harden has expanded his trade partners list to include more teams, but the asking price will be steep. How long will it take for Houston to pull the trigger on the trade? Who will make a move to pick up a perennial NBA All-Star? We are 48 hours away from the start of the NBA season as The Box Out begins its fifth season on the eve of a new beginning for the NBA and the podcast. While Jason and Kahlil admitted that the preseason did not mean much last week, the Knicks showed some heart and skill as the young players got much playing time against Cleveland. As the season begins, the team's expectations are not high, but New York will depend on names like Barrett, Obi, and Quickley to develop for the future. What should Knicks fans expect this season? The Nets have high expectations in the other borough this season as Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving have looked good in Brooklyn's exhibition games. Kyrie even spoke to the media earlier last week after saying he would not. The question is this for Brooklyn: Can the Nets resist the urge to trade away young assets in exchange to go for the title? The guys will look at all the big stories heading into the season, including will the Lakers be as dominant as everyone assumes and who will come out of the Eastern Conference. As Kyrie Irving continues his media blackout, The Box Out with Jason and Kahlil returns to the airwaves in a special Sunday edition. Kyrie Irving was the story of the week as he continues shunning the media and continually shooting shots at LeBron James. After saying that the press were pawns, the media replied with an uproar as the point guard and the Nets were fined for Irving refusing to talk to the media. How much longer will Brooklyn tolerate this, and is Kyrie a trade candidate now?  Duke announced that they would cancel their remaining non-conference games out of caution for COVID-19. As the college sports world deals with cancellations, postponements, and schedule changes, some believe that the NCAA should cancel the rest of the season. What should happen next with the college basketball season?  Those topics and more, including whether the NBA preseason means anything and if James Harden is trying to force Houston’s hand to trade him. The Box Out returned to the airwaves as NBA teams are in the middle of their abbreviated training camps.  We are just under three weeks before the NBA returns to home arenas (without fans) for a 72-game season. In preseason COVID-19 testing, 48 positive tests were among the 546 tests that were done. For this season, at this point, there is no plan to do a bubble, so it will be up to teams and players to stay safe this season. Is it possible to get through a whole NBA season without a case?  As we move closer to the season, the Knicks and Nets roster seems to be set as both teams have made their deals and moves towards the season. Which team had a better offseason? The Box Out is back for its third episode in a week in what has been a busy time in the NBA. After Wednesday’s NBA Draft, Friday brought us the beginning of free agency. Many moves have been, but the Knicks have been somewhat quiet thus far. While being linked to Gordon Hayward and Jeff Teague, New York picked up Nerlens Noel and re-signed Efrid Payton. While the team still has time to pick up players, it has not been a good showing for the Knicks. Where should they go in the coming week?  The last 72 hours in the NBA have been crazy, with many players changing teams. Gordon Hayward moving to Charlotte, Montrezl Harrell going to the Lakers, and Danilo Gallinari going to Atlanta. Add in Fred Van Vleet staying in Toronto and Donovan Mitchell signing a max deal with Utah, and the landscape of the NBA is changing, heading into an exciting season.
