An Active State of Depression: The Intro.
Here we are exploring a deeper sense of self in this new series “An active state of depression”. Join me on this continuous journey of self discovery, shedding, healing, connecting more deeply and finally seeing myself. During this series we’ll be exploring psychedelic treatment (Ketamine), journal entries and have some conversations with people who I asked to hold me during the course of 3 months. I took a mental health leave from my corporate job to do this and was very intentional about how I spent this time. —Thanks for coming along.

I will NOT be silenced.
Can I live? Must I be silent to avoid being harmed or not seen as angry when I exercise my rights as a US Citizen or a person with an opinion? Freedom of speak only seems to be relevant when you’re in agreement with the majority or when it’s not received as a threat to someone’s authority. You’re either too black, too entitled, too much woman, too much of a free thinker...I will NOT be silenced.

Picking myself back up.
Depression is a real thing. When you’re done working yourself crazy just to stay “busy” at night the things you run away from are still very much present wether you choose to be or not. Lots of transitions happening in my bubble, it’s a lot to take in. Great things, healing, over coming, etc. There will be both good and bad days, I expect to be a better version of myself each time.

I was assaulted by a man.
Until someone is gravely hurt or dead in a ditch somewhere is when people deem assault to be probable, but that’s not the case. Several women have been silent due to the mental impact of toxic conditions they have either seen or has personally experienced that don’t meet the “standard” to most in society. Well, this episode I’m sharing an experience I recently went through and also experiences from my past. I was assaulted by a man that had a romantic interest in me and felt he wasn’t getting the attention “he felt he deserved”. —I’m not the one! Watering my grass.
Sharing some more poetry and a journal entry. People assume positivity is easy all the time... it’s not. It takes work most days. Battling toxic habits, negative thoughts, keeping that confidence day to day is hard work when trying to push yourself to the next level. The poem at the beginning of this episode is called “Deeper Than Ink” written by myself. Connect with us on Instagram @TheBloomLine 💛
