The End Times
Hello everyone. We are back from hiatus and the message for today’s episode is entitled The End Times. It is a message exploring what is commonly referred to as the end times and our current place in these end times. From the times of the early church people have been predicting the end of the world in one form or another. This is not one of those messages. Hope you will be blessed. PS. Our Patreon has moved to patreon.com/TBIC . Also, We have expanded our ministry to our website, thebibleinculture.comBe sure to visit us. God bless.

The Coming U.S. Judgment
Our Episode today is entitled The Judgment of the West and it is a prophetic message framed to show the why and how of the coming U.S. judgment. This message is also a spiritual assessment of the sensual nature of our country and how this nature causes the chaos that we increasingly see all around us.  The poem in this episode is entitled Prophesying. It was written in the fall of 2019 and is a scathing rebuke to our Western privileged Christian sensibilities. It is written in the long form prose style of culturally relevant and socially impactful message poetry. This type of poetry flourished as part of the social/political currents of change that washed over the United States in the middle of last century. Many of these poems became anthems for movements or rants against the status quo. A hallowed example of this type of poem is “For My People” by Margaret Walker. Unlike many of the poems in our episodes this poem does not appear in my book of poetry titled, Christian Poems and Other Radical Explorations, available on Amazon. This poem is from my next book of poems to be published early 2021. You can read more about this poem and excerpts from my coming books at our TBIC Patreon platform and it is our virtual pastoral fellowship hosted on the Patreon membership platform. The Glory of the Lord
Our theme for the remainder of our 2020 broadcast schedule is entitled Mercy, Judgment and Purpose. Todays episode is entitled The Glory of God and reminds us of God’s absolute authority over all of creation including all of humanity. The Western idea of freedom of the individual has morphed into the idea that we owe allegiance to nothing. Any authority beyond our own that claims to speak into our lives is rejected out of hand. This message is designed to remind us who God is.  The poem in this episode is part ten from a ten-part poem called Thoughts and Ruminations. Each of the ten parts explores a different observation or idea of the Christian life. Part ten explores God’s existence being separate from and not dependent on human beliefs.   Thoughts and Ruminations appears in my book of poetry entitled Christian Poems and Other Radical Explorations. Christian poems and other radical explorations is available on Amazon.  Buy it to read this and other poems featured on the podcast.  There is a more detailed examination of this poem on our TBIC Patreon page. It is on our TBIC Patreon page that you can ask podcast questions and access the other parts of our pastoral ministry. You can also visit us on our website, thebibleinculture.com.

The Prophecy of our Daily Living
This episode is entitled The Prophecy of Our Daily Living. It is unique compared to the type of podcast we have done so far in that it will deal with the broad and largely mishandled subject of prophesy. This would have been episode 2 of a 3-part series entitled, Mercy, Judgment and Purpose. Instead it has become one of the episodes that is part of the theme Mercy, Judgment and Purpose. This theme will continue through the rest of our 2020 broadcast schedule.  Visit us on our Patreon platform, Patreon/TBIC. You can also visit us on our website, thebibleinculture.com.

God's Mercy and Jugment
Today’s episode is entitled God’s Judgment and Mercy and is Part One of a three-part series entitled Mercy, Judgment and Purpose. It examines the nature of God’s judgment and the conditions of His mercy. This is a difficult subject that everyone seems to have an opinion on. The reality is that what many of us envision as the nature of God’s judgment and the conditions of His mercy is just a reflection of the nature of our own judgment and the conditions of our own mercy. In this lesson we will examine, in His own words, what God in the flesh says about the subject. The Poem for today’s episode is entitled 7 Poem. 7 Poem is a haiku chain made up of 7 haiku that give us vivid images of the poignant nature of the Christian life. It concludes with a declarative statement affirming God’s goodness even as we live through the joys and sadness of life.  This poem is from my book Christian Poems and Other Radical Explorations Available on Amazon. Trailer for The Bible In Culture
Welcome to The Bible In Culture. All of us live our lives in the light of scripture or in the darkness of our own knowledge of what is good and what is evil. These two ideas are fighting for control of our hearts and raises questions that we all struggle with. Questions like, “If God is real why have I been disappointed by the Christian lives of strangers, pastors and parents,” “If God created this world why is it so full of indiscriminate pain, hardship and suffering,” “If God is love why do we seem to live without purpose and die without significance?” This internal tension has been felt by anyone who has ever ask in their heart, “Why is life the way it is?”   This Podcast has been created so that you and I can share our faith with these asking hearts.
