Is Wally's Daughter the 2nd Favorite Child? Top 5 Ice Cream Spots in St. Louis, More!
Just when you thought it was over… one more show! It’s a Bonus Episode of the Ben & Wally Show – the Emma & Wally Show! Wally starts the show by saying how great it is to have a child on the show that's nice to him!Wally’s oldest child, Emma, joins the show to make her case for why she believes she has been demoted to the 2nd favorite child in the family. Emma boils it down to two main issues – when she decided to quit volleyball and not play in college, and when she decided to go to the University of Kansas. Wally adds that she likely omitted a bigger event – her quitting volleyball and immediately getting a boyfriend!Emma and Wally rank their top 5 ice cream locations in St. Louis (no national chains allowed) and they choose from the following 5 places: Clementine’s, Ted Drews, Fritz’s, Silky’s, and Andy’s. The rankings are quite different for the two, but both agree on one thing – Ted Drews is overrated (something most people would never say in St. Louis).Wally and Emma discuss what life on campus will look like and both agree that it’s likely going to be a nightmare relative to COVID-19 related cases. We finish with a strong segment of “One Awkward Question”. Wally asks Emma “who is a better snuggler? Me or your boyfriend, Patrick?” You don’t want to miss her answer! Then, Emma stays on the boyfriend topic and asks Wally “how long do you think Patrick and I will last?” A question Wally doesn’t want to answer. It’s a final, final episode of the show, and a chance for Wally to share the platform with his oldest child.#podcast #funny #stlouis

Going Out On Top, The Final Episode
We've come to the end of The Ben & Wally Show, it was a 9-episode COVID-19 induced show that was a blast to make. We decided to go out on top, like Jordan and Seinfeld. After all, we had 29 YouTube subscribers, and 25 podcast downloads -- how could it get any better than that?!Our final episode is an all food / fast-food related episode. We take a deep dive into the snarky world of fast food social media accounts and read off some of our favorite blasts these hilarious accounts have used on their followers. We discuss the Taylor Swift vs. Burger King "feud", how it was started, and how we think everyone should just chill and worry about more important matters. We taste test the Popeyes chicken sandwich (both the original and spicy) -- we're late to the game on this sandwich, but we just wanted to wait for the lines to die down. We take a look at the University of Dayton logo and the DoorDash logo... they are oddly similar. We think the designer of the DoorDash logo must have gone to Dayton. Finally, we end with a fun "One Awkward Question". Wally asks Ben "what will happen first? High school sports will return to normal or you'll go on a date?" And Ben asks Wally to tell everyone the story about the time he accidentally used the women's restroom.Thank you to EVERYONE who listened to our show. It was an absolute blast to do together. Be safe!

The Last Dance Review, Who Said it First? Artificial Intelligence and Youth Sports, and One Awkward Question
We briefly revisit two news stories from last week to learn Ben might not become famous, and Wally shares a picture of the mannequins making social distancing "less awkward".In the news, Wally shares a story of a woman who made a homemade face mask out of Tupperware, it's video gold that you don't want to miss!We review the 10-part documentary "The Last Dance" which was about the 1997-98 Chicago Bulls, but in reality, it was a documentary about Michael Jordan. Both Ben and Wally enjoyed the documentary, but Ben wondered if he would have watched it if it weren't for the pandemic. Wally, on the other hand, gave the documentary a 10 out of 10.In a new segment called "Who Said It First?", Wally reveals that Ben's mom thinks he's trying to be Dan Patrick (through this podcast) and turn Ben into his "Danette". Wally argues that it might be the other way around -- and offers video evidence of "who said it first". Ben jokingly accuses Dan of stealing our content and then panders for time on The Dan Patrick Show.We have our first ever interview! Ben and I had the privilege to interview Brett Fischer, Director of Human Performance @ Elite Performance Academy. Brett played college football at Missouri S&T, and played professionally with the Kansas City Chiefs and Detroit Lions, and in the AFL with both Memphis and Las Vegas. While we covered many topics, we want to share just a small segment of that interview tonight – Brett discusses the future of youth and elite athletic training – using Artificial Intelligence or machine learning to predict athlete ceilings, identify potential areas for injury, and to develop training specific to athletes to avoid injury and become more athletic. Wally and Ben discuss whether they like the idea of being able to tell a kid "you have pro athlete potential" or "you'll never make it past high school" athleticism. It's a really interesting listen! Our second new segment of the show is "One Shameless Plug" where Wally promotes his coffee table book "I Was NORMAL Then I Got Hit By A Car" (this is NOT paid advertising) as the perfect Father's Day gift this year. The book is a 100-page, hardcover coffee table book filled with original illustrations and dumb dad jokes. Wally shares three samples from the book -- Bundt Cake, Canteloupe, and Notso Awesome Sauce. Get the book for $24.95 plus FREE SHIPPING when you order before 6/10/20. Buy the book at www.wallacegustafson.com/fathersday.We finish with a fun "One Awkward Question". Wally asks Ben when was the last time he flexed shirtless in a mirror, and Ben asks Wally to tell the story about "Chip Breath". Join us for a great father-son conversation about news, life, sports, and entertainment!#podcast #funny #fathersdaygifts Thanks for listening to the podcast | The Ben and Wally Show | Tupperware as a Face Mask? Rejected by Darren Rovell, Blockbuster Video Stock, Clone Wars Season 7 Review, and More!
Episode 6 is a special “birthday edition” as Ben turned 16 over the weekend. Wally gives out Ben’s Instagram and Snapchat user name for any girls wanting a date with the now “of age” bachelor. They discuss Wally’s failed attempt to buy Ben 10,000 shares of Blockbuster Video as a joke birthday gift. Blockbuster wanted to charge $0.0065/share for 10,000 shares vs. the current stock price of $0.0034/share. In the end, Wally got the last laugh as Blockbuster’s stock plummeted to $0.0020 the next day.Wally reveals that he invited @jimmykimmel to come on the show via his recently shared GMAIL account – and that Jimmy hasn’t said “no” yet… but then reveals that he also hasn’t said ANYTHING and has ignored the email.Instead of Blockbuster stock, Wally spent the $35 budget on the next best thing – a personalized birthday message from sports reporter @darrenrovell. A funny discussion ensues over a portion of Darren’s birthday message to Ben. Wally also informs Cameo that it’s too late – now that he has 48 Twitter followers, he’s too big for them.In headline news, Ben discusses a new (old) way of settling disputes in court -- trial by combat, reveals that he is going to be famous thanks to a YouTuber request, and Wally discusses a Boston restaurant’s decision to make social distancing “less awkward”.Our big topic of the evening is the review of Star Wars Clone Wars Season 7. Ben gives it a 9.5 out of 10, Wally gives it a 6.5 out of 10. It’s a generational divide and a bias that Wally has against a specific segment of Star Wars movies. Tune in to see who you agree with more.We finish with a “nice” version of One Awkward Question and at the close of the show we find out if Ben passed his driver’s exam.Join us for a shorter show than normal, but one packed with fun and laughter.
