Powerful Forms of Goal Setting & Structures, +More! #FreestyleFriday
Hey y’all - Meg here! To our Canadian listeners, Happy Canada Day! This long weekend we tapped into goals in a big way, digging into what drives and moves each of us into action based on different goal setting methods. Glen shares about how he’s trying out a new approach to goal setting, kicking off the conversation. He talks us through moving from a more measured approach to allowing things to show up on their own inside of a commitment and how that’s going. Derv talks through her perspective on setting clear goals and how letting go of the “how” to achieve a goal has changed her life.  And, I share about my new structure using Getting Things Done (by David Allen) and how that’s freed me up to accept and receive more in the moment.

Performance Blind Spots, Keeping Your Past In the Past, Goal Setting + more on #FreestyleFridays!
Derv here again! We kick this episode off with me talking about this new Mushroom coffee I’m trying out from Four Sigmatic. It works! Tip: I would have half a portion to start out with just to see how your body reacts to it.   Meg then gets in to how her past creeps back into her life so often and it’s important to keep reminding oneself that it’s just that, the past, in order to stop it from ruling our actions.   I talk about blind spots and how when things seems out of balance, even though they may not seem connected, sometimes they all are, in ways that we just don’t see. We discuss using the Performance Triangle as a way to figure out what is going on and why we’re feeling a loss of either power, self-expression or freedom (or a combination of them!).   Before we finish-off the episode, Glen drops a bomb on his goal setting initiatives! …We will continue that discussion into next episode.

How Can You Get More Value from Time? + More on #FreestyleFriday!
Derv here! In this last episode of Season #2 of The Beanstalk, Glen gets the convo rolling discussing a book he’s been reading by Thomas Sowell called, Basic Economics. It leads us into the discussion of how we can collect data and measure the amount of value we’re getting from the time we spend on certain things, so that we can choose to spend it in the best way possible for us.   How do you spend your most precious resource, time? Do you feel that what you’re doing with it is getting the most value out of it? We’ll give you some ideas on how to measure it, so you can maximize it.   From this talk, Meg gets real on her need to take a step back and do a "time audit", write out her weekly goals and work on living those 168 hours in the week in the best way for her.   I mention how I feel like there’s some areas of my life where I’m progressing but I feel like things in my career are just keeping steady, and that makes me a bit uneasy. I’m reminded of the concept of focusing on one area at a time to progress, highlighting a quote from a recent Marie Forleo podcast episode which goes something like: “The man who chases two rabbits catches none.”   Such a zen episode. Love this one. If you like what you hear, please share this with a friend!   Thank crew. Enjoy!

An AWESOME New Approach to Dating & How to Train Your... Clients
Meg here, y’all! Stoked to share some new things with you this week to help you Grow Yo' Self.  I share about what happening when I feel like my clients are running the show and the crew hooks me up with how to set some new expectations to help train my clients (and myself), and let go of worrying so much about adhering to other people's agendas. Derv digs into the topic of "llooooooveee" and the actions she’s taking to find the right fit in another person. She gets clear that who you choose to surround yourself is key to having the life you want.   Glen breaks down his partner seeking process step-by-step (it’s AWESOME!!) and what’s he’s created as a result.

Is Selfishness the Way to a Happy Life? #freestylefriday
Awww yeahhh. It's Glen here, holding down the description spot. This week's podcast was one of our best so far, and we are stoked to hear what you thought about it. Get at us: thebeanstalkpodcast@gmail.com We open to Meg sharing her curious case of the 'f*ck its', and what she is discovering around how to not care in the most powerful ways. The second part of the podcast is a round table discussion on the juxtaposition between altruism and selfishness and how it impacts the world and our relationships. Note: There are some insightful shares and epic rants in this one. We REALLY enjoyed recording it and we think you'll love it. DISCLAIMER: Y'all know we are a passionate bunch, and we can be quite boisterous at times. This week we are more liberal with our language. Listen in public at your own discretion.

The Law of Allowing - Letting Go to Cause Miracles #freestylefridays

Meg 'In Action' feels through the Law of Allowance (and takes us all with her). I dig into some of my learning from reading the books 'Your Brain on Porn' (I am 3 weeks without it at this point), 'The Art of Learning', and 'The 6 Pillars of Self Esteem'. This one was a hootenanny! One Love, Glen  PS. Our apologies that this is out a day late, we dealt with some technical issues and have put a structure in place to rectify them in the future.
