Ep. 11 | Latinx or Latine
We're back! Welcome to Season 2 of The Bandwagon Effect! In this episode we talk the gender inclusive terms Latinx & Latine to determine which is better suited for the Latin community.  Henny, Stephen & Kari observe how "Latinx" came into the forefront, and why some members of the Latin community weren't receptive to it. Many recognize the identifier as Latino because the "x" sounds clumsy to them in Spanish, and in some cases still prefer to use Hispanic. In breaking down the gendered Spanish language and the history of colonization/anti-Blackness in Latinidad, the three of us open up about how more inclusive phrases are key to representation and progress. Be sure to follow & rate our podcast, and thanks for listening! For more updates and information about the podcast follow us on Instagram at @thebandwagoneffectpodTo keep up with our hosts, give Kari, Stephen, and Henrick a follow on Instagram at: @kariana_eve@stephen_santana@hotboyhenny
