Legend has it that Shennong was conceived when his mother, Nü Teng, swallowed the vapour of a celestial dragon. In May of 2019, 39-year-old Cheron Golding was compensated by the vaccine court for injuries after receiving the flu vaccination in 2013. She was diagnosed with transverse myelitis, where part of her spinal cord became inflamed as result of damage to the nerve cells. She suffered from paralysis, loss of vision, and other injuries. Cheron was compensated more than $2 million, the highest settlement from the U.S. government so far. Today we speak to her lawyer, Randy Knutson.   So we just get delayed and delayed and delayed. And my clients are usually out of work because they’re paralyzed, they’re running broke, they’re losing their houses, and they don’t have time to wait. While treating the symptoms may cause their cessation, it is only temporary. They will return so long as the underlying factors are not addressed. When it comes to most diseases, including arthritis, there are essentially two ways of entering treatment – through conventional or natural medicine. While it is possible to combine these approaches, the priorities and methods associated with the treatment protocols of each vary greatly. Nothing could be further from the truth though! The amazing world of Classical Chinese Medicine is the same. We all understand now that the process of getting these things is actually strengthening to the human body. But we don’t go to extremes, running around with no cloths in the middle of winter trying to catch them lol. Flu Prevention Soup Recipe full article here There are two major types of common colds, and in the Chinese medical language, two names: wind-cold and wind-heat. Wind, cold and heat are three common pathogens which can enter the body from the exterior. Chills, aversion to cold, stiffness (especially of the neck), headache, and white or clear-colored phlegm are signs of wind-cold. Sore throat, feeling warm and/or agitated (whether or not there is a fever), yellow or green-colored phlegm, and aversion to heat are some indications of wind-heat. A third type of cold, which usually occurs in the autumn, is wind dryness. There may be a combination of fever and chills with a dry throat and dry cough. For wind-cold symptoms, ginger, cinnamon, garlic, cayenne pepper and onions are all warming foods with detoxifying properties. For wind-heat symptoms, peppermint tea is cooling, and also helps to release the pathogen. Chinese-style chicken soup is most effective for preventing sickness—when one is feeling stressed or run-down. Add to your favorite chicken soup: shitake mushrooms (fresh or dried), astragalus (found in natural food or Chinese groceries, also known as huang qi), and a small amount of seaweed such a kelp or kombu. Garlic and ginger can also be added. Steamed pears help to resolve phlegm and cough. Asian pears are particularly moistening for cases of dryness. Why Is It Necessary To Look Fantastic?    Let us today look at that question and what implications it poses. As you may well be aware, the answer to most things is in the question itself.  Why, a question of the question, not a question about us? Necessary! What is actually needed, and what is actually only WANTED? That is the key. Look! Who is looking? You, me or everyone else?  Fantastic looking! Can I dare say look perfect? The meaning here is, there is no such thing, we are all different and unique in our own ways, shape and form. The right way to look at this is self acceptance. With that also comes a state of becoming active, to want to be better in some areas and improve. Whatever that may be, fitness, diet, shed some pounds etc. There is always something that can be maintained better or re shaped. That does not mean we are lesser or not good enough, as we are not by any means. That reminds me of the graceful swan, paddling like hell underneath. Why, is the main subject matter that needs addressing here. Is it societal pressures, others opinions of us, seeking attention, playing to the ego or vanity. Extremes of our emotions can most certainly become our own distorted views of ourselves. Nature does not concern itself with looking good. Sure nature preens, baths and takes pride in appearance for the health of the mind and body. Not for any other real reason, other than to attract a mate. That is quite a legitimate reason, and continues looking good as a natural cause and effect of a stoic existence and way of life. Nothing superfluous, mostly looking good is a by product of inner qualities and a healthy way of living. If we look at survival, let’s be honest, most of us are in survival mode a lot of the time. Then that state has reasons to be fit and aware. Not for vanity though, not for the media and propaganda that has told us to be one way, and that it is good to strive for it. These are unhealthy and radical ways that have nothing to do with natural and fundamental ways of living at all.   If we are blindly led into this abyss of lies, betrayal and demigods etc, then look inside and find the reasons why you are doing that, and for what, for who …  There is a point then! For whatever the reasons are at your particular time of life, you can stop and wonder what you are doing and the reasons for it. Is it really you and what you really want? Don’t get me wrong here, the WANT is very powerful and has been tapped into by the big fellas and the marketing gods, making us do things that really are not who we are at all.  Others opinions of us! Who cares, what others think of me is none of my business ok! In actual fact we do care about what others think of us, usually. It is more the case of how much it influences and dictates the way we live and what we do.  On the other side of that is, if no one cared, then we would run around naked in the streets! But hey, with a decent body right lol !!! See the pardox there. Expectations! Traditional men and women in a modern world are keeping our own. When did we give so called others permission to dictate the way we live and how we look? When we adhere to stoic ways, with a balance in fitness (pardon the pun) those stereotypes fade away. The by-product of that is, more self acceptance and instinctively wanting to be fit and healthy. That naturally means you will be at your optimum right size for your chosen career, sports and activities … life. Live a natural stoic way and adhere to virtues and principles. Eat well and as organic as possible, or at least clean off your produce and filter your waters. Then this alone will produce a you that looks the best you can. Looking fantastic! Why would you even bother.  The short answer is, it’s not necessary to look fantastic at all. Though the reasons and insights into why it is not necessary have to be known first. Or something like “you health food junkies are crazy”! It was all getting to be so complicated to just reach a healthy body and mind. Quentin and I have lived the era of these extreme eating paths. So why have things seemed to go that way? This week we look at the subject from a few directions and come out with a better and more balanced understanding of food and life. Twenty years ago I was a wholehearted, impassioned advocate of healing through food. In those days I was a cook and organic farmer at a large commune in upstate New York. Today, as a physician who practices alternative medicine, I still almost always recommend dietary improvement to my patients. How could I not? A low-fat, semivegetarian diet helps prevent nearly all major illnesses, and more focused dietary interventions can dramatically improve specific health problems. But I’m no longer the true believer in nutritional medicine I used to be. Where once I was enthusiastically evangelical, I’ve grown cautious. I can no longer console myself with the hope that one day a universal theory of eating will be discovered that can match people with the diets right for them. For the raw-foodists we always laid out trays of sliced raw vegetables, but the macrobiotic adherents looked at these offerings with disgust. They would only eat cooked vegetables. Furthermore, they believed that only local, in-season vegetables should be eaten, which led to frequent and violent arguments about whether the commune should spend its money on lettuce in January. Many of the most unbalanced people I have ever met are those who have devoted themselves to healthy eating. After watching these food wars for a while, I began to fantasize about writing a cookbook for eating theorists. Each food would come complete with a citation from one system or authority claiming it to be the most divine edible ever created; a second reference, from an opposing view, would damn it as the worst pestilence one human being ever fed to another. Finding examples wouldn’t be difficult. I could pit the rules of various food theories against each other: Spicy food is bad; cayenne peppers are health-promoting. Fasting on oranges is healthy; citrus fruits are too acidic. Milk is good only for young cows (and pasteurized milk is even worse); boiled milk is the food of the gods. Fermented foods, such as sauerkraut, are essentially rotten; fermented foods aid digestion. Sweets are bad; honey is nature’s most perfect food. Fruits are the ideal food; fruit causes candida. Vinegar is a poison; apple cider vinegar cures most illnesses. Proteins should not be combined with starches; aduki beans and brown rice should always be cooked together. full article here   The Balance with Meiling Lee Today we start another path of personal learning and understanding. Yet this flu vaccine topic has gone even further because in many cases now your child is not allowed to go to school if she hasn’t had this new chemical and bacterial influence. How pathetic! Q brings to light some great research and societal thoughts on this very dubious subject that needs your scrutiny. Enjoy this week’s subject, “Baking Soda”.     What is Bicarbonate of soda   A wonder white powder, that ought to be used in our lives. Natural, beneficial and helping greatly to live a stoic existence. Let’s get straight into this amazing naturally sourced product, how it can assist and help us in every way, every day. Lets see all its practical uses.  There is probably a packet in the pantry somewhere, silently waving to you saying, pick me pick me! As it has long been known of, and is widely used, this salt derivative has many related names such as baking soda, bread soda, cooking soda, and bicarbonate of soda. The term baking soda is more common in the United States, whereas bicarbonate of soda is more common in Australia and Britain   Vegetables Bicarbonate of Soda or baking soda, same thing, is the latest tested and proven product that takes all the traces of pesticides and other impurities from our chemically sprayed vegetables.  Simply add a level tablespoon to a sink or bowl ( 3-4 pints ) of cold water and soak for 2 minutes, scrub lightly, rinse, wash and prepare your meal. Simple and easy.    Even if some is still on there, it is all good and in fact can enhance the crispness.  So a perfect rinse off is not mandatory.   This product has always been available.  Dating back to 1780 and further back in time, according to many ancient writings and texts, using the term mineral salts, so it has been around forever, literally, in one form or another.   Bicarb soda is awaiting us to utilize it for our benefit and healthy eating.  Even our stoic ancestors utilized a very similar recipe.  There are many other uses, for drinking to restore the ph levels in our bodies, to have an alkaline balance, where cancer cannot grow, the healthiest state to be in, sure other factors are involved, yet the prevention or keeping strong physically, benefit of this alone is amazing.   Here’s a tip Make your own self-raising flour – Combine 1 cup of plain flour with 1 teaspoon Cream of Tartar and ½ teaspoon of Bi-Carb Soda.  Vwula !!! It is all natural – There are no additives at all, in any way whatsoever !!!   No aluminum or any used in the processing.  All natural food grade product that is completely safe . What is good quality Bicarb Soda and not so good quality? Naturally sourced of course, see below for further details.  Check the label, it will state if it is natural or man-made. There is a chemical, man-made derivative, the Solvay method explained below. Where is it actually from?  It is the result of geologic time.  Southwestern Wyoming, was a large freshwater lake 50 to 60 million years ago. The local climate went from wet to dry, during wet periods, minerals in the rocks were exposed and entered the lake and then dried out to form trona deposits.  The supply or recourse, trona, in Wyoming alone there is 56 billion tons of pure layered trona, plus 47 billion more tons mixed with other minerals.  Currently we extract about 15 million tons per year; the Wyoming Mining Association estimates, there is enough to last more than 2,000 years. It comes out of the ground in the form of minerals nahcolite and trona, which are refined into soda ash (a.k.a. calcium carbonate), then turned into baking soda (sodium bicarbonate).    athe ore trona, is dissolved in water and treated with carbon dioxide. Sodium bicarbonate precipitates as a solid from this solution.   Summary In short, bicarbonate of soda, sodium bicarbonate, bicarb soda and baking soda are different names for the same thing.  While you can drink a small amount every day, ( half a teaspoon ) for acid reduction and to keep an alkaline ph levels in a very heathy state, it is advisable to seek medical professional advice beforehand, due to your particular make up, other medications possible negators and to see if it is suitable for you specifically.  If you already have too much salt in your diet, then it is not advisable.  However, therein is the answer, eat healthy and this is a great maintenance drink with numerous beneficial qualities.   So, come on, get using it now!, there is absolutely no reason why not, I’ve been using it and drinking it for years.   Bicarbonate of soda is used together with a mild acid such as tartaric acid as the excipient in effervescent tablets: when such a tablet is dropped in a glass of water, the carbonate leaves the reaction medium as carbon dioxide gas leaving the medication dissolved in the water with the resulting salt.     Kitchen Eliminate kitchen dishwasher odors — sprinkle bi-carb on the bottom of your dishwasher in between loads. Eliminate fishy smells — after cooking fish, use bi-carb solution to clean the pan to eliminate any lingering smells. Freezer cleaner — use bi-carb solution to clean out your freezer. Empty freezer, defrost and wipe. Clean and deodorize stained or smelly plastic containers — use bi-carb solution to deodorize smelly containers. Rinse well with warm water. Clean burnt pots and pans — soak the pan in dishwashing liquid, bi-carb and hot water for 10 minutes before washing. For severely burnt pots and pans, scrub pot with dry bi-carb and a moist scouring pad.     No need for fancy or expensive cleaning products. Deodorise kitchen rubbish bins — sprinkle a handful of bi-carb in the kitchen bin. Clean dirty, smelly sponges and cloths — remove odours from sponges by soaking overnight in bi-carb solution. Eliminate smelly hands — to get rid of garlic, onion or fishy smells from your hands, wet and then sprinkle on bi-carb. Rub hands together well. Rinse and dry. Clean dirty microwave — place a bowl filled with water and two tablespoons of bi-carb in your microwave. Cook on high for one minute. Wipe down the microwave with a clean cloth. Clean non-stick pans — make a solution of two tablespoons of bi-carb, 110ml vinegar and 225ml water. Put this mixture into the pan and boil for 10 minutes. Wash as normal. Non-toxic oven cleaner — use bi-carb paste and scrub oven with a clean cloth. Rinse well. When cleaning electric ovens be careful not to get any on the element as this may cause it to corrode. Using baking soda for an oily oven can help clean and freshen it up. Deodorise refrigerator and freezer — place a small open container of bi-carb in your fridge to eliminate unwanted food odours. Replace monthly. leaning stainless steel appliances and sinks — rub stainless steel with a moist cloth and dry bi-carb to shine. Rinse and dry. Clean baby bottles — safely clean baby bottles by placing two tablespoons of bi-carb into the bottle, pour in hot water, leave to soak, then rinse well. Clean wooden chopping boards — to remove food odours, rub bi-carb paste onto the board and leave for a few minutes. Rinse well. Polish silverware — polish silverware with bi-carb paste. Rinse and dry well. Clean stained cups/mugs — restore life to stained tea and coffee cups by applying bi-carb to a damp cloth and rubbing on stain.     Restore old, vintage cutlery quickly. Washing dishes — to remove grease add two tablespoons of bi-carb to your washing up water. Clean water bottles — wash out water bottles with bi-carb solution to get rid of stale smells. Rinse with warm water. Clean rubbish bins and refrigerator — periodically clean your rubbish bin and refrigerator with bi-carb solution. Fruit and vegetable scrub — for a safe way to effectively clean dirt and residue off fresh fruit and vegetables, sprinkle a little bi-carb on a clean cloth or vegetable brush. Scrub and rinse. Clean oven racks — place a towel in the bottom of a bath tub and fill with hot water, one cup washing powder and one cup of bi-carb. Gently place the oven racks in the bath to soak overnight. Polish clean with steel wool. Rinse and wipe dry. Clean stove top/hot plates — combine hot water, bi-carb and vinegar to make a solution for cleaning food spills on stove tops. Cleaning stained laminate — sprinkle bi-carb on stain, splash vinegar on top and while solution is fizzing, rub with a cloth or brush. Wipe clean and rinse. Cleaning the blender — add two tablespoons of bi-carb and ½ cup vinegar to blender, put the lid on and turn on for a minute. Rinse well.     Bi-carb works well as a cleaning ag

A widely used crop and forestry spray has been proven to disrupt and distort the body and mind of tested mammals and amphibians to such a terrifying extent that it changed them from being males into being females! Common Spray Atrazine Turning Males into Females Story by Union of Concerned Scientists: Dr. Tyrone Hayes remembers thinking the gig would be harmless. Approached in 1997 by the corporate predecessor of agribusiness giant Syngenta, Hayes—at the time a young U.C. Berkeley assistant professor—agreed to study the effects of the company’s herbicide atrazine on amphibians. Hayes was a rising expert on the endocrine systems of frogs, and he assumed he would not have been hired if the company thought there was anything to find. “My hypothesis was, nothing’s going to happen,” he later told Mother Jones. But Hayes did find something—namely, that atrazine seemed to be impeding the sexual development of frogs. Now, decades into Hayes’ studies on atrazine, his discoveries have most famously linked atrazine exposure with changing genetically male frogs into functional females, leading to a bitter dispute with Syngenta. Internal documents made public in litigation reveal Syngenta’s plans to harass Hayes in an effort to both discredit his science and tarnish his reputation as a researcher. Atrazine has been banned in the European Union over concerns that it is a groundwater contaminant with potential effects for wildlife and human health. Yet it is the second-most widely used herbicide in the United States, with a whopping 73.7 million pounds applied in 2013. As such, the stakes in the US are high, both financially for Syngenta and environmentally for the nation. Atrazine often washes into water supplies, particularly in the Midwest, and in 2012 Syngenta reached a $105 million settlement with community water systems over the presence of atrazine in drinking water. Hidden Cancer Is Mass Farming  Why has this horrible method of mass farming, this greedy irresponsible business model, that has been forming cancer in us for so long, taken so long to be highlighted by the main media? And why, even when we find out about the sickening truths of modern day farming, this mass production method, does it take us a little while to start our processes of changing, and or, completely abandoning this greedy mass production business model? Mass Strategy At Any Cost Many factors came together in the early twentieth century to make mass production possible. Henry Ford‘s decision to produce an inexpensive automobile that working people could afford was a gamble. He succeeded in convincing his financial partners to back his idea through sheer determination. Detroit’s history of mechanical innovation also played an important role. The city’s many skilled engineers and designers helped refine Ford’s early attempts and later helped build large factories to showcase his ideas. The abundant talent—similar to California’s Silicon Valley in the late twentieth century—allowed Ford to recruit talented employees. The immigration boom in Michigan provided Ford’s company with the unskilled workers for the assembly lines. The assembly line gave Ford factories a fluid appearance and dramatically increased productivity. Without the assembly line, Ford would not have been able to keep pace with consumer demand. At the same time, Ford hoped to maximize economies of scale by building large factories. Most important for consumers, the increased efficiency brought with it a reduced cost. Model T prices quickly dropped from more than $800 to $300. As a result of these innovations, workers were soon able to produce a new Model T every two minutes. The company sold 11,000 cars from 1908 to 1909, a 60 percent increase over the previous year. Ford then outdid himself with the 1910–1911 model, selling 34,528. Sales skyrocketed in 1914, reaching 248,000, or nearly half the U.S. market. The heavy demand forced Ford to continue innovating. He built the largest and most modern factory in America on a sixty-acre tract at Highland Park, north of Detroit. Ford’s net income soared from $25 million in 1914 to $78 million by 1921. Even the decline of the Model T did not affect the demand for automobiles. Mass production techniques spread to other car manufacturers. Alfred P. Sloan of General Motors introduced the annual model change in the 1920’s. The changing look of automobiles, made affordable by mass production, mirrored the changing national landscape. A sweeping car craze prompted the desire for material abundance that would mark the genesis of modern America after World War II. Advertisers, artists, and writers used the factory and assembly line to symbolize life in the United States. Often, they associated manliness with technology and engineering. Many looked upon the factories that linked American cities with an attitude akin to romanticism. Corporate marketing, advertising, and public relations staffs and outside agencies developed to massage this message into the public’s subconscious. With its focus on the quantity of production, often to the exclusion of other goals, today’s food system is on an unsustainable course. The problem begins with and is driven by industrialized production of both crops and animals. Industrialization is a product of technological change, public policy, and, most recently, globalized trade. The lack of sustainability derives from reliance on the intensive use of nonrenewable and hard-to-renew resources—soil, antibiotics, fresh water, and fossil fuels, for example—but also from the waste and pollution created by the industrial model. For at least 50 years, American agriculture policies have promoted production of, and ultimately lower market prices for, commodity crops like corn, wheat, and soybeans. Over the last 3 decades in particular, these “cheap food” policies have exacerbated the negative impacts of an industrialized agriculture on the health of the agro-ecosystem, as well as on the health of the humans who must share and be sustained by it. Sustainability and health are two sides of the same food system coin. Policies that put US food production on more sustainable footing can help aid in public efforts to address the myriad crises confronting both the food and health systems. Food production, human health and welfare, and the state of the world’s natural resources are inherently connected.  “Growing food is among the most essential services our ecosystem provides, since it is fundamentally dependent on the world’s atmosphere, soils, freshwater and genetic resources,” according to Rosamond Naylor of Stanford University. More simply, people need food to survive and thrive. The health and sustainability of the America’s agro-eco food system is a human health issue, therefore. Yet a number of leading experts in systems biology, agro-ecology, and public health now question that sustainability. That hallmark of industrialized agriculture, the intensive use of resources, is at issue. The unsustainable rate of use of renewable resources, like groundwater and soil, is one dimension. The intensive use of nonrenewable resources, especially including fossil fuels but also pesticides and antibiotics, is another.19 A third issue is that intensive resource use, when combined with the lack of natural cycles to reuse these resources on the farm, creates wastes that not only pollute air, soil, and water quality but also pose health risks to the people relying upon them. Risks to human health can be acute in nature, such as the risk of pesticide poisoning. More often, they are longer-term risks experienced by populations downstream or remote in time compared to when the pollution first occurred. The pollution of groundwater resources with nitrogen, the development of environmental reservoirs of antibiotic resistance, and climate change fall into this category. The following section describes a few of these problems in greater detail and begins to make some of the links between them, as well as offering examples of the interconnectivity of health and agro-ecological sustainability. Up Close and Personal with Mike and Q Today we get in-depth with our listeners about our own enlightenment on the path to well balanced health. Today we interview each other on our most important lessons from being in the health and fitness industry. Meet Mike & Q             Mike: Now, without any further ado, I want to step into this time with Quentin. Remember it’s one thing to hear someone saying to you all about this scientific or chemical understanding of the way the human body functions, but that is not true wisdom. Those things are learned. I learned them when I was studying to be a PT. Quentin learned them when he was studying to be a PT (Personal Trainer). But when it comes to true understanding, these things are actually lived experiences. They are actually trained experiences. People who have trained for a lot of years, well beyond one or two or even three decades. These are the kinds of things that you get in The Balance in Fitness. So I want to make that demarcation. There is a big difference between the hype of what you see on Youtube for all of these different kinds of eating styles or understandings. Or of how they work and how simply the universe, the world, nature, your body, and your mind function together. Actually everything that is in our environment at the moment, especially in marketing works against it. So that’s what we’re here for.   Mike: Now let’s get into it. Quentin,Where are you now? Where are you coming from and where’s everyone hearing you from? I’m in New York State on Long Island or as we say, we call it Strong Island and where I’m from, and I went to school, and was really born in was Brooklyn, which is more of a famous place. More people know about Brooklyn, but I grew up on Long Island in a place called Roosevelt in New York.  The home of Eddie Murphy and Dr. Dre and a lot of famous people came from this particular area. I moved back to be with my mom after my father passed away a few years ago and before that I was living in California for a very long time. I was working as a trainer and teaching yoga and doing things out on the west coast. But then after my father passed and my mom became ill, she was diagnosed with what they call Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and I just felt that I was just too far away to, you know, be from her at this particular time. I was not married and my sister is married and has as a family. So I felt it was my honor to move back home and to spend some time with my mom and be of help in any way that I can with the expertise that I have with health, cooking, and all the things I’ve studied for so many years. I’m working with people you know, out in California, but you, my mom is not well, so that was the initial thing to move back home and to take care of her.   Mike: What’s your heritage? Where’s your family from? Quentin: Ah, my family is all over the place, man. You know, it’s so funny people in America have so many different parts of them scattered all over the place. Of course, from a simple point of view, you could say I’m African American. I’m a black black man, as we say in this particular country. But of course, my mom is a Mulatto. So my grandfather on my mother’s side is an Anglo White Dude, straight from Europe somewhere around there. Anyway, he passed before I was born. And so my mom, you know, she’s very light skinned and my father, who was my grandparents on his side also passed before I was born. And they were from Brooklyn. So there’s that and then of course I did a DNA thing sometime ago and you know, I don’t even, you know, you get this DNA thing and this is a whole other thing. Like where did the New Zealand midget come in there? I didn’t know I had part of New Zealand midget in me. What is that about? When did I get the Maori from? I don’t know, you do those DNA things and it’s like, okay, all right. I had a purple head about 3000 years ago. You got a 17% Chinese and that made sense to me, since ever since I was young. I used to swear I was Chinese. The only people that knew that I wasn’t Chinese was Chinese people. They really had a tough time with that one, although that would politely agree. Oh, okay.   Mike: Alright, next experience in the fitness industry. What have you done? Where are you been? Where did you start? Oh my God. Oh yeah. The fitness industry is like many things in the world that don’t exist anymore. There’s certain things in the fitness industry that have gone the way of the cassette tape. You know, it’s just certain things that I got into the fitness industry of course, because I was always a Chubby kid, you know, when I grew up. I had an affinity for breakfast cereals and sugar when I’m cooking, I grew up and my mom, worked very hard to raise my sister and I, and so I didn’t have a lot of parental guidance in that. I was sort of just left on my own to cook. So, you know, you’re a kid and you’re like, what you want? You want to eat your vegetables or a hostess cupcake? Hmm. See, I gotta go with the cupcake mom.    So consequently, you know I was in those days, what they called “Husky”. They didn’t say derogatory things like Chubby. They called it the “Husky” section of the boys clothes. But then when I was very young, there was a day that I was sitting on the floor watching TV with my mom and all of a sudden, you know, you hear this thing, come on, “Woo” you know, and then it was Bruce Lee in the Chinese Connection. And from then on I’m like, okay, that’s what I wanna do. I wanna look like Bruce Lee. I want to have muscles like that. And that’s when my fitness journey really began because from there I began to read everything I could about Bruce Lee, how he slept, how he maintained his fitness. And then I would read magazines about that. And then the 70s, this is when things started to come around. So that was the beginning. That was the true essence of the innocence of inspiration. Yeah. You know, basics things at that particular point, you know, when fitness was in the 70’s, things were very basic. My father was a military man and my father would get up every morning and I would see him when I would go visit him and he would do, you know, 300 push-ups, 300 sit ups, 300 jumping jacks. And it was something, as a kid, you just look at him going, why is my father doing this and why is it all morning while I’m trying to get my Captain Crunch cereal in.   Click above to hear the whole conversation.

In a recent post on the Pew Research Society an interesting article caught my attention called “The Future of Well-Being in a Tech-Saturated World” and so I decided to breakdown this topic in depth for our listeners and what we found out was incredible. Today we’re going to have a look at something. We’re going to have a look at technology in the health and fitness environment in the health and fitness world. What we’re doing with technology, because as we all know, whether we like it or not, technology is trying to develop into every nook and cranny of our lives. And it’s not because it actually is giving us something good naturally. It’s because technology has been used most primarily by the areas of our world that we speak about quite a lot, which are the areas that are the development of products and services to sell to us to gain our money. And of course at the moment money makes the world go round, you know, so we can’t sidestep that point.
