3 Positive Parenting Tips That Really Work
In this episode, I give you 3 practical positive parenting tips that will get you immediate results with your kids. This is based on an excellent book by Amy McCready called “If I have to Tell You One More Time…”. It’s because I was tired of the parent I was becoming that I started to look into other ways to parent. With 3 children, aged 6 and younger, I knew my husband and I needed better strategies to address their misbehaviour, whilst teaching them essential life skills. And that’s when I discovered this excellent book, that I’ll be sharing from.

012: Positive Parenting And How It Can Help You
Do you ever struggle with knowing how to deal with your child’s behaviour? Are you exhausted and feel as if you do everything around the house? That’s definitely how I have felt as a mum to three little ones. And it’s why I started researching alternative methods of parenting my kids. I was tired of the constant cycle of child misbehaves, I punish. Child misbehaves again, I punish again. I didn't feel as if I was making any progress, and I certainly didn’t feel as if I was teaching my kids any real strategies to change their misbehaviour. That’s when I stumbled onto Positive Parenting, and in particular I found Amy McCready who’s the author of an excellent book called “If I have to Tell You One More Time… The Revolutionary Program That Gets Your Kids to Listen Without Nagging, Reminding, or Yelling”.

No purees, no ice cube trays, no food processor, no potato masher, no baby rice, no weird fruit and veg combos… that’s the essence of BLW. It basically means letting your child feed themselves from the very start of their weaning journey. It’s amazing to watch. I did it with my middle child, and am currently doing it with my 9 month old baby. However so many parents have questions about how to get started, and concerns about how exactly to go about. And we answer all of those questions in this interview. Let’s get to it….

Now this book isn’t written for the busy mama of young children, but so much of what is written resonated with me and my quest to become an intentional mother. So here are the key points from the book that I think relate to life as a busy mum. Enjoy!
