Throwback Thursday | How Running Saves Lives with Dickie Longo.

An older brother, a husband, a father to 3 sons, and a grand and great grandfather to 9 beautiful kids, in his words, Mr. Longo is living the “perfect” life. Running has been at the center of it all. He has been running for over 70 years, which is hard to believe, because he doesn’t look a day over 60. He married his college sweetheart, a beauty queen. He says he married up, so he just kept running to keep up with her. Recently, the love birds celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Mr. Longo has won countless medals and awards in his long running career. 3 years ago, he celebrated his 80th birthday by running a 5K and winning his age group. To promote his mission of helping others and to show how running can save lives, he started the Longo Scholarship Fund and it’s extension the Do Unto Others Program. He is currently working on a book about his life journey and how running can help save our lives, to be published in January.
