Episode 6: Transforming Limiting Beliefs and Creating Affirmations
In this episode I talk about how to address and transform limiting beliefs through the use of affirmations. Journaling Prompts:1. What are your limiting beliefs? What beliefs do you hold that no longer serve you or that make you feel bad about yourself?2. Are these beliefs actually true? Can you find any evidence anywhere in the world that these beliefs might not be true? What would you tell a loved one who held a similar belief?3. What is the opposite of the limiting belief, or what do you wish was true instead?Tips for Creating Affirmations:1. Use present language.2. Create affirmations that are within the realm of what you believe to be possible, or are just outside of what you currently believe to be easily achievable. Use bridge statements as needed.3. Use positive language. Avoid the use of words like "not" or "don't."

Episode 5: A Spooky Halloween Story plus How to Talk So Your Amygdala Will Listen
In this episode I tell a scary true story from my past and talk a little bit about the cortex and the amygdala and the roles they play in generating anxiety, as well as strategies for communicating with the amygdala in order to deal with anxiety. These strategies include: -deep breathing-meditation-progressive muscle relaxation-visualization- exposure therapyExposure therapy can be very effective, but make sure to do your own research and/or talk to a therapist before beginning, as there are different ways of doing it (gradually or flooding) and it's very important that you don't quit in the middle of it as that has the effect of reinforcing anxiety in the amygdala.

Episode 4: Dealing with Feelings
In this episode I talk about the difference between an emotion and a feeling, my hungry dog and my itchy dog make surprise guest appearances, and I share the processes I use to fully feel my own feelings. To Fully Feel Feelings: 1. Set an intention to fully feel your feeling for at least one minute.2. Take at least 6 deep breaths, in through the nose for a count of 5, out through the mouth for a count of 10.3. Walk, dance, do yoga or any kind of light exercise afterward to move the chemical component of the emotion through your body.

Episode 3: Negativity Bias, Automatic Negative Thoughts, and Reframes
In this episode I talk about how our tendency to focus on the negative or what could go wrong is due to negativity bias and automatic negative thoughts and how to reframe them. Journaling Prompt for automatic negative thoughts:1. List any automatic negative thoughts that come to mind.2. Step into the role of an objective observer and ask yourself if these thoughts are actually true. Remember: thoughts are things and just because you think a thought doesn't mean it's necessarily true!3. Look for evidence to prove your automatic negative thoughts wrong.4. What would you tell a friend or loved one who was struggling with similar thoughts?5. Write a new and more empowering version of the automatic negative thought.

In this episode I talk about using FAB statements as a tool to get in touch with how you are feeling. A FAB statement is written in the format of "I Feel_____About_____Because_____" (fill in the blanks).
