The Artist's Heart Podcast Episode #7 Featuring The New Painting "Metamorphosis"
The Origin of Metamorphosishttps://sempriniartworks.com/the-artists-heart-ep-7-metamorphosis/Metamorphosis is a natural process that changes an animal from one form to another. Some species go through the entire process, while others only undergo partial metamorphosis. A salamander's metamorphosis includes a loss of its tail fin and internal gills, as well as a change in its skin structure. In anurans, metamorphosis involves modifications to nearly every organ in the body. Tadpoles lose their horny teeth and internal gills, and dermoid gland morphogenesis is evident in their limb development. Insects with complete metamorphosis have an advantage over other species that do not.The process of metamorphosis is associated with a change in the form that provides adaptation to the environment. A butterfly, for example, begins as a larva crawling across the ground and feeding on leaves. In contrast, an amphibian larva develops into a swimmable tadpole, which uses gills to breathe, and later absorbs its tail to form its legs.In amphibians, the hormone thyroxin is a key factor in metamorphosis. Thyroxin stimulates metamorphosis, while prolactin inhibits it. Scientists can study the effects of hormones on the metamorphosis by artificially administering hormones to animals during their pre-metamorphic stage. However, these hormones can have negative effects on the animals. Although scientists are unsure of the origins of metamorphosis, they do know that without the process, animals would die.Although the origin of metamorphosis remains a mystery, scientists are beginning to understand the basic biology of this life process. For example, some research is aimed at unraveling the mechanisms that control this process in humans. The Artist's Heart Podcasthttps://youtu.be/6UV0hHRXYnE"The Artist's Heart" a new tell-all podcast about creating art, selling art, and the power of Creativity to heal.In this new podcast “The Artist’s Heart, Conversations with Joe Semprini” Joe talks with guest artists about the power of creativity and creating art from the heart to heal from his own Cancer, and bring joy to the lives of art lovers.Joseph Semprini has been an artist all his life and rode the wave to Hollywood and the west coast celebrity art scene with all the excitement of the seventies and eighties and then never stopped. The Artist's Heart Podcast Episode #6 Featuring The New Painting "Jig Saw"
Modern Art Meets Art History: “Jig Saw” by Joe SempriniAugust 8, 2022: https://sempriniartworks.com/jig-saw-by-joe-semprini/The History of the Jig Saw Puzzle and what inspired “Jig Saw” by Joe Semprini. The history of the Jig Saw Puzzle can be traced back to the nineteenth century when a wooden puzzle was the most popular type of jigsaw puzzle. During the Great Depression, the puzzles became a popular distraction for those looking for an inexpensive way to pass time. Many companies started mass-producing puzzles made from cardboard. The technique of die-cutting these puzzles significantly reduced their cost. These puzzles became a popular source of entertainment for the general public, and advertisers began to use them to spread their own images. Jigsaw puzzle companies also began to explore the creative designs of nature. By the 1900s, cardboard jigsaw puzzles had become the dominant product, and the antique wooden puzzles were a rare, high-end item.Throughout the 18th century, a new market for the puzzle emerged in London. In 1740, a tradesman named Thomas Boreman was publishing a series of infant books. In his apprenticeship, Spilsbury was exposed to dissected maps, and he may have received some instruction from Madame de Beaumont. William Darton was a keen marketer who helped spur the development of the jig saw puzzle. In the early nineteenth century, jigsaw puzzles were originally meant to teach geography to affluent children. John Spilsbury, a London-based mapmaker, crafted the first jigsaw puzzle in the 1760s. His idea of a puzzle involving a dissected world map was so popular that the Royal Family even had a large cabinet made for it.The Artist's Heart Podcasthttps://youtu.be/6UV0hHRXYnE"The Artist's Heart" a new tell-all podcast about creating art, selling art, and the power of Creativity to heal.In this new podcast “The Artist’s Heart, Conversations with Joe Semprini” Joe talks with guest artists about the power of creativity and creating art from the heart to heal from his own Cancer, and bring joy to the lives of art lovers.Joseph Semprini has been an artist all his life and rode the wave to Hollywood and the west coast celebrity art scene with all the excitement of the seventies and eighties and then never stopped.
