Grace: What it truly means
GRACE Ephesians 2:4-10 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. The Bible says that we are saved by GRACE. The question then becomes, “What is grace?” First, to make a point about comparing Scripture with Scripture, look at these verses: Romans 5:10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. Romans 8:24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? 1 Peter 3:20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. 1 Peter 3:21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ… What is my point? My point is that the Bible says we are saved by things other than grace. My point is we cannot take Ephesians 2:8 and build a Salvation Doctrine upon that verse alone. That is a lack of knowledge, and wisdom. 2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. What is rightly dividing? Yes, we are going to get back to grace, but we are going to learn in the process. The word is “ορθοτομεω”, and it means to make a straight cut, or to dissect correctly. It is translated “rightly dividing”. Before a surgeon makes an incision, he thoroughly studies the x-rays and images of the patient. He checks the whole body to ensure that his incision will not negatively affect the rest of the body. It must be the same way with us as we attempt to proclaim the message of God’s Word. Using a proper, and logical hermeneutic, we can properly interpr

New Testament Baptism
The Truth about Baptism Baptism is one of those biblical topics that has been misunderstood for so long by most of Christendom that it has morphed into something it is not. As a result, it has almost lost its true meaning and purpose. The Modern Meaning Reading behind many of the evangelical writers, and hearing more than a few sermons on baptism, I was confronted with a somewhat important ordinance that was not a necessity, but was following in obedience to the Scriptures. Yet, it had no bearing on salvation, and was merely a public profession of faith that was an outward symbolism of an inward work of God. What the Bible says In searching the Scriptures to back up the modern evangelical claim, I was confronted with a huge problem; which was the conspicuous absence of even one passage that described, or even implied what I was being taught concerning baptism. It simply is not there. There is no misinterpretation, or misunderstanding of the Scriptures here. The modern explanation of Christian baptism is entirely extra-biblical. What then does the Bible say of this ordinance of the church? It has much to say about it, and it is both intriguing and enlightening. A Command As a believer, we are commanded to be baptized. Jesus commands baptism when He commissioned His disciples to go, and teach the nations. In Matthew 28:19 Jesus stated, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” In John, chapter 3, Jesus states this, “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.” After much study of the Bible, the Greek language, and many commentators of Scripture, it is undeniable that Jesus was speaking of water baptism in this passage. A Requirement for salvation As stated previously, Jesus said that unless one was born of the water and Spirit, they cannot enter the Kingdom of God. In Mark 16:16 we read, “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.” Baptism is where it’s at! In Romans 6:3-6 we read, “Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from
