"I Have A Pattern." with Singer and Songwriter Jaclyn Shaw
On this week's episode of "The Answer Me Love Podcast" I have the pleasure of interviewing Jaclyn Shaw, one of the most beautiful and talented people I have come to know. We talk about a 1 in 300,000 chance at a coincidence in romance, and why she let it slide by- for now. We also talk about dating patterns we have, or the "type" of people we seem to date over and over and over and... you get the point. Jaclyn has a Master's Degree in Behavioral Therapy, and we talked about types of spiritual injuries that have been passed down through some traditional gender roles. We also talk about similar experiences of dating while performing artists, and channeling our pain into our art. Jaclyn was kind enough to share one of her songs with us and we talk about the experience that inspired the lyrics. Of course, we close the podcast with Jaclyn's answer to the question: What does good love feel like? You can follow Jaclyn at www.jaclynshaw.com Special thanks to sound engineer Jaime Muneca Muñoz! "That Was A Different Crazy Chick..." with good friend and comedian Jason Rennebu
My dear sweet friend Jason Rennebu joins me for episode 20 of "The Answer Me Love Podcast." We reminisce about out pre-civid days of chasing our dreams in Hollywood, our Tuesday night adventures, and, of course we talk about Jason's love life and crushes. He trash talks my favorite college basketball team, (Kentucky) and we share stories about his "bachelor" pad by the 101 freeway.

"That was closure." with musician and actor Omar Veluz
My guest on Episode 18 of “The Answer Me Love Podcast” is the musically talented, beautiful and sexy on the inside and out, Billboard Chart-making artist, Omar Veluz. My life is better for meeting such a loving creative, and even though seeing him lights my heart, our conversation reveals the highs and lows of the journey to share our art. Omar tells us about his two loves, and the childhood traumas that still haunt him. We talk about toxic relationships, a very not-fun losing virginity story, closure, instagram vs. reality, and how much we feel our calling to perform. I love Omar so much, and I’m sure within a few minutes of the podcast, you will fall in love too. BTW- Omar’s song that climbed the Billboard Charts is called “Send Me An Angel.” Just the thought resonates with who I’m hoping for next. 💗 Follow Omar on YouTube and instagram @omarveluzmusic, on his website at www.omarveluzmusic.com, and subscribe to both of us on iTunes, Spotify and everywhere else good listening is found!

"It's all timing. It was the right time. I was lucky." with Comedian Stephanie Clark
My guest on this week's episode of "The Answer Me Love Podcast" is the "Babe" of comedy, Stephanie Clark. I debated on the which quote to use for the title. One could have been, "I paid him $500 to leave" and another "I liked him because he didn't try so hard." Stephanie and I discussed her love for rescue dogs, her husband, the relationship she looks back at now and wonders, "Why??" and of course, comedy. I loved having her on, and I know you are going to love her too.

Bonus Episode: Sam Goldstein's Door
While interviewing Sam Goldstein for episode 16 of "The Answer Me Love Podcast," I was reminded of a famous quote by Graham Greene. If you've never heard of Graham, or the quote, you are about to. This bonus episode is short and sweet, thank you for listening and don't forget to subscribe! If you haven't listened to episode 16th, here is some background info you need. In the intro, I mention Sam's "birth mother" who reached out to him for the first time on his 18th birthday. That is not the same person sam speaks of in this podcast. Sam's "Mom" he speaks about is his adoptive mother, who he considers to be "MOM." As in like, mom MOM.

Updated: "Have You Ever Seen Juno?" with Sam Goldstein
On this week's episode of "The Answer Me Love Podcast" I had the pleasure of learning about Comedian Sam Goldstein's journey with love. Sam opens up about family, comedy, his old perceptions on how to get the girl, and why he has never had a long term relationship. Like most of the guests on my podcast, Sam was honest and real, and this was the first podcast where I was the one who shed tears. I won't spoil it for you. There were some technical difficulties with the first airing of this podcast, and I want to thank the listeners who messaged me asking about it and who are listening again to hear the rest of it. I heart you.

"Whatever Leslie Is, That's For Me..." with Comedian Matt Neal
On this week's episode of "The Answer Me Love Podcast" I find myself going down the rabbit holes of life and it's lessons- from comedy, to first crushes, to fatherhood, to the funny stories that kicked off the beginning of his marriage and relationship with his wife of 15 years, to the desired evolution of family in our society, to the treatment of depression and PTSD with hallucinogenic medicine, Matt was a gracious guest who left me more informed and more intrigued at the same time. I want to have him back to ask him more about the parents who brought comedy into his world, about his mother who suffered the loss of her sister during her teenage years, about what a 15 year marital journey includes, and more. For now though, here is a first glimpse of Matt Neal. You can follow Matt on Twitter and Instagram @mattnealcomedy, and the comedy show he produces with Sam Goldstein when you follow #brewingcomedy, also on Instagram. Go see his show at "Five Threads Brewery" in Westlake Village, it takes place every 1st Friday and 3rd Thursday. Find him on Facebook too, of course. Comedian Alex Hooper joins me as a guest on this week's edition of "The Answer Me Love Podcast." "She Renewed Me" with Storyteller and Comedian, TJ Huberg
My guest on episode 13 of “The Answer Me Love Podcast” is the very funny, talented, and warmly heartfelt comedian TJ Huberg. I first saw TJ perform at a storytelling show on August 5, 2012, and I can honestly say that attending that show and hearing TJ’s story made me a better person. There is a saying, “You don’t know a person until you walk a mile in their shoes…. on that stage in 2012, the audience walked in TJ’s shoes, and we laughed and we cried, and at the end- we knew and loved TJ. I am indebted to TJ for coming on my podcast to share that story again. On this episode, you will hear what TJ learned from praying away the gay while living in a shelter for “homeless, helpless, and hopeless people,” IHOP, and how triumph in life and love sometimes takes an unexpected form. Of course we finish the podcast with TJ’s take on what good love feels like. TJ will be performing at The Rec Room in Huntington Beach on April 7, 2019, and is currently working on their one person show. “Oh Joy, I have a Cold Sore.” Where to follow Tj Huberg: facebook: https://www.facebook.com/tj.huberg Where to follow Melanie Baldonado: www.melaniebaldonado.com instagram: @melaniebcomedy twitter: @melaniebcomedy facebook: @prettyfunnycomedian The Answer Me Love Podcast: instagram: @answermelovepodcast www.answermelovepodcast.podbean.com

"A Fully Realized Life" with Comedian, Doctor, and Producer Carol Metcalf
The fabulous Carol Metcalf is my guest on episode 12 of “The Answer Me Love Podcast.” She’s a comedian, doctor, and among other complimentary words, a comedian. She is currently producing a documentary, “It Hurts When I Don’t Laugh.” Carol and I talk about her experience being the daughter of a veteran, and the work she does with veterans now. “Honor” is a constant theme throughout the episode. Carol used two phrases I won’t forget, “a fully realized life” and “reframing the ironic.” As far as love and relationships are concerned, Carol tells me about her hippy wedding at 19, meeting the love of her life Bernie on “Plenty of Fish,” a long marriage in-between the two, and opens up to me about her first kiss. I’d like to call this episode 1 with Carol, because I had so many more questions for her, and I'm hoping she will come back for episode 2. (Also, correction: Tulsi Gabbard’s role in the military was not to call the family of the deceased. "To be known... to be loved." with quintessential girl-next-door who grew up, Melissa Higashi
Ep 11 of “The Answer Me Love Podcast” is up! If you haven’t heard, I have a podcast where I interview people and ask them to tell me their REAL experiences and thoughts on love and relationships. Mostly, comedians are my guests. This week, I interviewed a high school friend- the quintessential “girl-next-door” Melissa Higashi. Why Melissa, of all the 1000+ people who went to good ol Channel Islands High school with us? Because I wanted to put the microphone in front of someone who doesn’t normally get one, in an effort to hear a beautiful heart speak it’s truth. The title of this week’s podcast is “To be known, to be loved.” I hope you listen and get the chance to know Melissa Higashi. www.answermelovepodcast.podbean.com Or on iTunes, stitcher. Etc etc . ❤️

Do you want your kid to be a comedian? And other musings about the love in our life with comedian Christine Little
Episode 10 of “The Answer Me Love Podcast” gave me the opportunity to interview one of my closest and funniest friends, comedian Christine Little. We discuss Christine’s attraction to unavailable guys, and the theory that we, on a subconscious level, are attracted to people who give us the same feeling as our primary caregivers. Christine opens up about her parent’s divorce, and reflects on the judge’s decision to give her father custody of her and her brother- a decision she wrote a joke about- of course! We talk about parents- is it inevitable that they will mess us up? Does a normal family exist? Heart blockages? Christine? Heart blockages? Melanie? Blockages- and methods we have tried to get rid of them. First crushes and our FIRSTS- yes, the people we "lost" our virginity to, and the strange thing that happened when we saw them years later. In minute 46 we talk about “having one” and are so close that she read my mind and I didn’t even need to fully ask the question. “One” meaning someone you were supposed to marry at age 30- just in case you didn’t meet anyone else. You know, the “fall back plan.” Is pure love just a mood we are in? Are pain and love intertwined? Christine gives us her answers to those questions, and of course- we finish the podcast with the question, “What does good love feel like?” You can follow Christine on instagram and twitter @thextinelittle , and help yourself by subscribing to her podcast “A Little Advice With Christine Little.” Don’t forget to subscribe to my podcast! You can follow my comedy dates on instagram and twitter @melaniebcomedy. The podcast is on instagram @answermelovepodcast Thank you for listening!

The Fun One, The Stable One, and the Roller Coaster with author and comedian Grace Fraga
Stand up comedian, author, and actress Grace Fraga is my esteemed and hilarious guest on episode 9 of “The Answer Me Love Podcast.” We open with the question: Can you be friends with an ex? Grace tells us about her major loves, classified as the stable one, the fun one, and the roller coaster. We also discuss how finding your passion can influence a relationship- for better, or for worse. How close to home did “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” hit for us? I open up about a time I wish I was wrong- and how I’m hoping that someday someone will help prove me wrong. Grace’s motto is “kick butt and have fun” and you can feel it throughout this podcast. Of course, we conclude with Grace’s answer to the question “What does good love feel like?” Follow Grace on instagram @gracefragacomedy , on twitter @gracefraga, and purchase her books “Love at First Ex” (both editions) and “The Double Life of Grace” on Amazon. "Explaining What I Feel For You Is Not Possible In English" with Activist and Comedic Writer Enkel Brintrup
On episode 5 of "The Answer Me Love Podcast," I had the challenge of pinning down activist, intellectual, and comedic writer Enkel Brintrup to the topic of love. He dropped so many bombs discussing the history of his heritage, sexual and physical abuse as a child, his immigration to the United States, and more, but when we finally got down to the reason why I wanted to interview him- to find out what was it about his wife that made him want to marry her the first time, and the second time, after they officially divorced- I was suprised by the answer. Of course, we finish the podcast with Enkel's take on the question, "What does good love feel like?" Enkel's wife recently had a birthday, and in his birthday FB post to her he wrote, "I love you. Explaining what I feel for you, is not possible in English." You can follow Enkel on his Facebook pages, "Cupcakes and Milk" and "Motivational Satan." "It was ours." The four loves of my life, and realizing I'm my father's daughter with Erin O'Connor.
On episode 3 of “The Answer Me Love Podcast” I sit with the brilliant, glamorous, classy, and very funny stand-up comedian Erin O’Connor. Erin recalls the four loves of her life, including her husband of 26 years, and we laugh about the “coincidences” of comedians having affairs with the same comedians as our other comedian friends- did you follow that? We reflect on the ways our parents' relationship influences how we approach our own. And of course, Erin gives us her take on what good love feels like.
