  Emperor Pelpatine stopped by to talk to us about AIE in SW:TOR! Meetups this weekend! The So Cal mid winter meetup is happening this saturday at 2pm at lucky baldwins in pasadena! Not to be outdone the folks over in arizona are having a meetup at Amazing Jake’s over in Mesa at 6pm! If you aren’t in these areas though don’t despair! Setting up your own AIE meetup is easy and can be done on the meetup.com website and on the forums. http://www.meetup.com/Alea-Iacta-Est-Gaming-Community/ AIE Podcast segment submissions! We are always looking for great member segments, and It’s occured to us that we may not always be the easiest to find. Well rest assured you can send your segments to our email, we ask that you keep them around the 90 second mark and that they be an actual segment (not just a plug for your show). For AIE Book of Heroes players, a few quick updates! The “Great Culling” is coming, and we’re going to be removing players who have not been active in 2 weeks or longer. This will be the cut off from this point forward. If you decide the game isn’t for you, it’d would be great if you could leave the guild before uninstalling the game. Also, there is a NEW section of the forums which right now, is only for us, because we’re the only ‘minor league‘ game AIE is a part of!  Just a few posts there, but make sure and take a look at the guidelines at the top of the section for posting info. Planning is underway for the great AIE anniversary! If you have an idea for an event, or want to help take part, let us know on the forums! Remember, you don’t have to be an officer to create an event (Though we do have rules about what is and is not allowed) if you have  any questions please send us emails or ask on the forums. Remember the world of warcraft movie? We didn’t! But apparently it’s back on track and will start filming later this year! There are few details out about the movie, which is planned on being released in 2015.

Everyone give three cheers for Großerstier. Gro, who is also known as Aeonidis in eve online got his  nomination via email write in! See! Emailing does make a difference! Some amazing things said about him: * sent me roughly two complete bank tabs of LW mats of assorted types (for the craft fair).  He’s quite a hero with me. * I know him from EVE, a great member of the community * I completely support making him a GotM for his participation in EVE alone! So everyone give Gro a big high five if you see him! If you know somoene who you think is a fantastic example of what AIE stands for, let us know by sending an email to officers@aie-guild.org. Last week we announced we have a new Jabber service! Jabber is a multi platform chat room that AIE is using as a cross game greenwall. But have you been wondering how to actually use it! Well we have instructions for that! Head on over to the forums and look for the Jabber Jabber Jabber (or How to Connect a Jabber Client to the AIE server) thread to find out how to connect and ask your questions there! Just a reminder, the officers are thrilled to hear about new games that may be added to AIE, but would like to remind you that certain games currently have Non Disclosure Agreements and are not open for discussion on the forums. If you are playing a game and are under an NDA understand that any and all discussion on the topic may be shut down on the forums. A Book of Heroes Update: We have 12 coguilds bursting at the seams, plans to get 13 and 14 opened in the next few days! Please be patient as we try to keep this going in an organized fashion. That’s right we have finally got a Jabber service running as discussed at N12! So what’s Jabber? Well Abovan put it best “A chat and IM service, where we own the server. It’s neat because it supports a lot of clients, on just about any platform you can think of. PC, Mac, iOS, Android, Windows Phone, you name it.” Just load up Jabber in your favorite chat client (Trillian, pidgin, more examples here!) and use your UMAMI password to log in! It’s fast, it’s friendly and it’s aie! Ever want to contribute to the AIE wiki? Yes! We have a wiki! And we want you to add information about your character or raid team! Thankfully now the wiki is using UMAMI log ins and passwords, which means you already have an account! Head on over and update your info, show off your raid team, or that other group that you have going on! Who is heading to PAX East? If the answer is you, then you might want to check out AIE meetups happening during the convention! It’s still a little ways off in March, and 3 day passes ARE already sold out, but this is one of the great gamer cons out there. Check the thread to see who might be going! Everyone give a  big congratulations to Prevenge! This guildie went above and beyond by securing a collectors edition MOP box for Mortoss when the retailers in his area sold out. Prevenge then drove it to Mortoss rather than ship it! Wow! Remember we officers have our eyes open for this sort of super guildie behaviour but we can’t see all of the awesome in AIE!
