Our first interview with an artist! This episode is with Maddie Dearman, a Monroe native. She is currently a senior at Louisiana Tech, studying both Studio Art and Graphic Design. Her love for art is almost as strong as her love for Jesus. In this episode, we talk about how she got to where she is, her love for her craft, her passion for spreading the Good News of Jesus, and many other things.From her artist statement:My work reveals an inherent obsession of curiosity and wonder (specifically surrounding the person of Jesus Christ and the kingdom of God), craving for humbling perspectives, and the true joy I find in making and sharing my work with others. Our guest this week is Michael Davis, founder of Railway Coffee in Ruston, LA. Mike is a Ruston native of 33 years. In 2014, he started roasting coffee in his home to satisfy an itch for great, fresh coffee. In 2015, they started selling at the farmer's market in Ruston. From there, the rest is history. This week, we discuss growing a community around a business, which starts from the inside. We also talk at length about the growth of the 318 area.
