So as you can tell from the title, this episode looks at the motivation for the invasion of Ukraine by Stalin, I mean Putin. We mythbust the idea that poor Putin was all afraid of NATO expansion and thats why he invaded. It turns out, that it has more to do with Putin's desire to "reconstruct" the soviet empire (he actually said in 2002 that the worst geopolitical event of the 20th century was the collapse of the Soviet Union) and to get "revenge" for all the horrible things that the west has done to him. For starters, the last time NATO expanded towards the borders of Russia was 2008. So why didnt he do anything then? And after he invaded crimea in 2014, he never mentioned NATO as a motivation. So listen to find out what he said and why he is doing what he is doing.... hint.... Empire and revenge, Not NATO. So what a surprise. Hitler, I mean, Stalin, I mean Putin invaded Ukraine. Told ya so! Ive been warning about this guy since 2014, but nobody paid attention. Well, almost nobody. So this is my take on whats going on.  What happened, whats happening, and a bit of crystal balling on what might happen in the near future. Believe it or not, the podcast ends with a bit of possible good news, I mean, not good news for the Ukrainians, thats for sure, but maybe possibly some good news for the world order that Putin just utterly shattered. so this is (finally) part 2 of the NEW COLD WAR PODCAST SERIES. This time, Mariana (my intelligent, caring and beautiful wife) and I focus the discussion more on the geopolitical situation rather than Putin. It looks at NATO as an alliance, hybrid warfare, the new nuclear arms race, and conventional capabilities of the 2 sides, even the role of China. It argues we are in the midst of a NEW Cold War (thats pretty obvious by now), but demonstrates why this time, its much more scarier than the first cold war. Sorry millennials and the next ones whatever you are called, but if you didnt know this already, the world is a scarier place today than when I was growing up in the 80s. Uggg... Oh and guess what, I still blame the Russians. 

OK. I dont have to go into how bad things are in afghanistan. we have all been seeing video and pictures. This is likely to become the largest humanitarian disaster the world has ever seen. The UN estimates that there is a possibily that the disastrous NATO withdrawal and the Taliban takeover will create a 9 MILLION people refugee crisis. The question we discussed with my awesome undergrads is WHAT WENT WRONG and more importantly WHY. This is a good one folks. A MUST LISTEN Security Perimeter Podcast episodes. Ok, so im starting a new mythbusting series. This time on the new Cold War. Whose to blame? are the russians poor victims of excessive NATO expansion? or is Putin a thug and bully just looking to pick a fight if he can win? Well, I think many of you know what I think. This first episode looks at Putin`s background, starting with his "KGB" experience during the 1980s all the way up to his "free and fair" election in 2012. It scares me so much that people all around the world think that this guy is such a great leader. Hence the title "mythbusting". This episode will (hopefully) convince you that honestly, Putin is just a freaking opportunist thug who is taking his country down a very dangerous path. Russia and Russians will eventually pay the price. Episodes 2 and 3 will look at US/NATO and Russians policies that have contributed to the new "cold war" and part 3 will look at the arms race today

So here is the 4th and final episode of the MYTHBUSTING THE BULL THAT Nazis were actually great military strategies. Just in time for the 75th anniversary of VE Day- Victory Europe, 8 May, 1945, where germany officially surrendered. This episode deals with two of the most dumbest military decisions Hitler made. One being the battle of the Kursk and the second, the Battle of the Bulge. After the battle of the bulge, where the germans attacked and then were soundly defeated by the Americans, the war was over. The US basically walked into germany unopposed. In fact, germans were running to surrender to the Americans, British and Canadians. Listen to podcast to find out why!!! Sorry for taking so long. This year we literally covered everything from the origins of christianity, science, SMELLY international relations (listen to find out what that means) to donald trump, and AMLO among other topics. OK. So this episode looks at the North Africa Campaign and Barbarossa. OMG. HOW PROFOUNDLY STUPID CAN THEY BE. The little corporal (HITLER) made some REALLY REALLY REALLY smart strategic choices during this period (NOT). And thank GOD they listened to him. I mean how stupid can you get? and I dont mean the choice to invade Russia, but rather what the Little Corporal (aka THAT MAN as referred to by churchill) made the german army do when the invasion had already begun. The russians didnt win mr. #putin, but rather, hitler and the rest of the IDIOTS around him lost it. ALSO ALSO ALSO: AWESOME NEW AUDIO EQUIPMENT... so no more crappy sound. Promise. This episode looks at the beginning of the war, when the Germans were making all these "phenomenal" military victories, poland, france, denmark, greece, etc. Well listen in... someone has lied to you. They were not that great and spectacular as you have been taught (ok, except for the french campaign). These FLAWS in german military STRATEGY are gonna come back and bite them in their assess in the next stage of the war. So this latest installment of the MYTHBUSTING WW2 series looks at Hitler and Nazi`s and the claim that Hitler was a great diplomat in the 30s and the NAZI`s were great military strategists. So here is the 3rd and final episode on MYTHBUSTING WW2 and the belief that the soviets singlehandedly won the war. This episode looks at the final phase of the war, during and after the landings at Normandy in June of 1944. Russians love to argue that D DAY was a piece of cake, but they conveniently forget what happened at Falais and at the Battle of the Bulge. Listen in to get the details!!!!

So here is part 2 of the "russia did not win ww2 all by itself". In this episode there is a SIGNIFICANT IMPROVEMENT IN SOUND QUALITY. Sorry for last time, I was trying to figure out a new microphone. This episode looks at the battle of stalingrad, the bombing (flattening) of german cities and the north africa campaign among other things. ok, so im on sabbatical and i was thinking of a podcast project. I came up with this idea to bust WW2 myths like, "well the NAZI were evil, but they were good military strategists" No they were not. They sucked They were horrible. Thank god the NAZIs made these horrendous military mistakes because it cost them the war. If the Nazis were not there, the german army may have actually won. Another myth: that the verseilles treaty punished the germans so much and that caused WW2 (bullcrap). This specific episode is part 1 of (i think) a 3 part series on the common belief (especially in russia) that the west did nothing and that only russia did the "real" fighting in WW2 (more bullcrap and listen to the episode to find out why) This is gonna be fun for me. I hope you enjoy the series and PLEASE give me some feedback on what you think of it. And it you can think of any other possible WW2 myths that need busting... please suggest. So remember, this first WW2 MYTHBUSTER will probably end up being 3 parts, this one is only part 1. Putin is really gonna hate me after this!!!!
