Reading The Raven Poem by Edgar Allan Poe
In this episode we are kicking it old school and taking it back to my roots- my poetic roots. I haven't brought any poetry to the podcast in a while, and felt that needed to change. Unlike previous episodes though, this one won't have any discussion of cards that connect, or symbolic references. In this episode, I am simply going to read The Raven poem by Edgar Allan Poe.  This poem is iconic, and I felt that honoring it best would be simply to let the episode be the poem. This poem started my own poetry journey, and I love this poem still. I hope you enjoy my reading of this poemMy linksSupport the show Thank you so much listening! Book review (Moon Spells: How to Use the Phases of the Moon to Get What You Want by Diana Ahlquist)
In this episode, I will be reviewing the book Moon Spells: How to Use the Phases of the Moon to Get What You Want by Diane Ahlquist. I have been wanting to do some more reviews on the podcast, and on my blog, because they are a topic that I enjoy and find value in. I also, in all seriousness, ran out of time and needed a topic I could cover quickly. In this episode, I am going to share what I really like about this book, and what I really don't like, and all the things in between. I am going to be honest, but I invite you to look for yourself into this book, and see if it is something you would want on your shelves. I think it's a good book for beginners, with some helpful information to come back to over time.Links:the book My LinksBackground track is Dear Moon (Instrumental Version) by Velvet MoonSupport the show Thank you so much listening! I will be honest and take ownership over my peace and my rage (April forecast)
This month we are working with the Lady (Queen) of Swords from the Mystical Dream Tarot  and the Badger and Gingko from the Woodland Wardens deck. Both of these cards speak to a sense of agency, autonomy, and ownership. The Lady of Swords invites you to consider what divine truth is coming forward within us right now, and how to use your intellectual understanding and your emotional capacity to connect that divine truth into the bigger picture. The Badger and Gingko invites you into healing wounds, the ones inflicted on you and the ones you have inflicted on others. The main themes discussed in this episode: what is within your divine truth, and why is it divine for you? how does that connect you into a bigger truth, or understanding of yourself? the double-elementals of water and air how healing is a part of your divine truth, and how to acknowledge your peace and your rage Links: Soundtrack is Queen of Spades by Lucention Dual Process Theory: Two Ways to Think and Decide What is Intuition and Why is it Important Water Symbolism and Symbols Sojourn Events  Intuitively Working with the Minors of the Tarot My Links Support the show Thank you so much listening! Are you a social or solitary witch?
Once you have claimed the path of witchcraft and taken yourself to embody the practice as you see fit, the natural next question to ask yourself is: where does your path fit in relation to other people? That is what we are discussing in this episode. We discuss: The pros and cons of joining a coven The pros and cons of joining an open circle, spiritual center, or neo-pagan church The pros and cons of a solitary practice While I do discuss in this episode the reasons why I chose a solitary practice, the only right answer here is the one that is right for you. It is right for you if it aligns with your wants and needs for your spiritual practice. I hope this episode helps if you are in the space of making that decision now. I acknowledge my thoughts and emotions, but I am not tethered to them (March forecast)
Hello dear listener. As we are in a new month, it is time to dive in and discuss the monthly forecast for March. We are working some heavy hitters this month; these cards ask us to come front and center to our thoughts and emotions, and then move past them in a space of connecting to the truth. The monthly cards are: 3 of Swords and the Coyote and Datura (Deceit). Some of the key themes that we discuss in this episode are: acknowledging thoughts, emotions, and where we have been, but also untethering ourselves to move forward a need to grow, grow up, mature as a way of healing using compassion, love, and softness as the mover forward the trickster archetype and how it helps and hinders the liminal space of healing and continued pain with Datura, and much more May this month, even with these heavy hitters open you to beautiful possibilities of release, relief, healing, connection, and many blessings. Tarot tips for epic and honest readings: Opening into the space of the tarot
Following on the feelgood of my first workshop: Intuitively Exploring the Major Arcana through Alternative Methods, I want to share the first tip that I included in the workbook for that class. The first step for an epic an honest reading, with all of the tarot, not just the Major Arcana, involves just opening into the space. It can be easy to just immediately reach for the guidebook, or any book on tarot, while doing a reading (no judgment, I have done this too), but to get deep into an intuitive reading, it is helpful to just sit with the cards. In this episode we discuss: recalling details and ways you have embodied the tarot before, like a space you used to know connecting into the symbolism not seeking immediate answers being brave enough to be wrong or have a slower pace in your tarot practice I challenge you to try this in your readings, and see how the space shifts towards an internal, more intuitive form of understanding. Reach out and let me know how this goes for you. Connect with me:My LinksSupport the show Thank you so much listening! If you liked it, leave a rating or review. It really helps. Being perfectly imperfect and going into a new year
In this episode, I share some tips and reminders of moving into a new year as a perfectly imperfect being. The idea for this episode came forward as I was reflecting on all that I did / did not accomplish this year. Successes like the poetry book sit deep within my sacred center, and I could not be more proud of its creation. Other things, I did not accomplish. Things like the Wild Reclamation coaching program were a big goal I had, and still, it did not happen. So, this episode is a reminder that as perfectly imperfect beings, things things will happen.... and it's ok.The main tips and reminders discussed are: It's all a journey, not a destination. You are a journey. Your goals, your gifts, your wants, needs, and dreams are all journeys. As you go through the road map to these ends, remember the journey is where most of the magick is. You are divine and human together. You are messy and beautiful. Things at times will be fully in alignment with your spiritual and wild purpose. Other times the energy of the hunt for basic things may feel all encompassing. Both are true. Both are teachers. The most important thing you can do is show up authentically with however much you have of your authentic self that day. It is also important to lean into your unique capabilities to grow and find your strength. We discuss some of what is included in the Wild Reclamation core, and we have already discussed the aspect of being wild and sovereign. You can listen to that episode as well. It is episode #43. Thank you for listening and being with me and the pod for this year. I speak to my heart's truth, even when, or if, it's hard (December forecast)
It is time for our final monthly forecast for 2022. That feels to weird to say, or write rather. This month is all about taking time to connect to the heart. This month is about opening, initiating, and setting intentions to what is residing within the heartspace, and rooting into that truth. Our monthly cards are the Ace of Cups and the Black Egg (in relation to the throat chakra). Some of the key themes in this episode are: Being present with emotions emotions that are coming in and up Letting that presence open you to potential rooted growth and heartfelt intentions Becoming rooted in what is within the heartspace and removing judgement Speaking to your truth by first listening  Speaking to the truth of the heart with love, even when it aches This episode we get intimate, vulnerable, real. It is easy for me to adapt, change, and grow (November forecast)
Hello dear spirit, We are back for the November forecast. This month we are working with some very liminal cards. They are the Fool reversed and the Bat (both decks are listed below).  Both of these card represent merging into vastness, with the Fool it is light and endless potential. The Bat asks us to go within, to go into the darkness, sit with the internal energies, and end a chapter. Some of the main themes that we will discuss in this episode are: bringing the liminal and the physical together to find our source of life, breath, inspiration, and manifestation being guided through the unknown and letting the unknown be a teacher connecting to the wholeness of ourselves (and everything else) without judgement, assumptions, and with trust stepping into the unmapped path doing the hard work when you feel like you aren't doing anything Links:All of me Ostara TarotThe Wild Unknown Animal Spirit DeckLiminal DefinitionTarot Wisdom by Rachel PollackTarot Awareness by Stephen Walter SterlingHumans emitting light articleGET A COPY OF MY POETRY BOOKSoundtrack is Destination by STRLGHTSupport the show Thank you so much listening! Tarot in the Wild : Examples of the Page of Swords
I thought it would be fun to create a series about where we see tarot in the wild (i.e where we see examples in pop culture, literature, history, public figures, and more). Since our tarot card for this month was the Page of Swords we are looking are four examples of the Page of Swords. The examples and some of the main themes with these examples are: Lisa Simpson- learning about the truth of reality, and learning about the possibilities that remake that reality through change Luna Lovegood- knowledge is power and no pathway of knowledge is to obscure to use to help, serve, protect, and fight Matilda- using the superpower of your knowledge to right the wrongs and bring things back into balance Greta Thunberg- armed with the truth, you can never be led astray, and you can make radical change Our Honorable Mentions: Hermione Granger Daria Steve Urkel These other, young activists Links:My LinksArticle of Greta ThunbergBackground soundtrack is Dark Princess by ELFLSupport the show Thank you so much listening! Hello dear spirit, we are back with the monthly forecast for October. Can you believe that it is October already? In this episode the main themes we discuss are: Double-elementals with the Court Cards Showing up in the here and now to manifest what you dream, envision, and want in your life Using everything in life as a teacher Seeing the big and small picture Using all of these to discover the divine nature of yourself and more.... I hope that this episode provides some insight for October, and invokes some curiosity to take you where you desire. How to be sovereign and wild
In this episode, we are discussing what it means to sovereign in wild, both in body and spirit. This episode breaks down what defines being both sovereign and wild, and includes my own definitions. Some of the main themes discussed are: tapping into your power as a consistent practice finding the equilibrium between authenticity and objectivity creating an interconnected and diverse "ecosystem" of self, both internally and externally sovereign and wild as a thread towards your purpose, bigger picture, values, and what you envision for your life adapting where needed to continue that growth and rising energy More than anything, I hope the narrative that stays is one of a curious journey. Finding your sovereign and wild self is not a destination. There will always be something new to discover, learn, and adapt to in order to grow more into your skin, that you will inevitably shed.Links:Background track is As the Birds Sing by DeskantMerriam Webster websiteThe Biophilia Effect by Clemens G. Self-empowerment through spiritual food
I asked, and you guys answered! You wanted an episode on self-empowerment, and that is exactly what this episode is all about. Rather than talking about the main themes of self-empowerment (strength, confidence, conviction, etc.) I wanted to talk about something a little different. This episode is all about how we nourish, sustain, and empower ourselves through spiritual food. Just like you actively choose food to eat to empower your body, this episode talks about the ways and reasons to empower your spirit. In this episode you will hear some of these main themes: reframing how you talk to yourself and engage with your balancing between spirit and matter set an intention to empower yourself in whatever way you choose validate the act of energetic sustenance through your spiritual birthright to fullness releasing the conditionings of guilt and shame around these topics Thank you for listening.
