It’s that weird time between Christmas and New Year’s Day, where there usually isn’t any good Star Wars news to talk about. But this year is a little bit different...Samuel the Hutt will be excited to finally explore the details Jon Favreau shared on GMA about the Book of Boba Fett. A cryptic Instagram post by the official Star Wars account is teasing a future for Mace Windu. And the director of the next Star Wars theatrical release had a film hit theaters - and we LOVED it. 6 Unsanswered Questions From The Mandalorian Season 2!
It’s almost impossible to put into words what we all experienced last Friday while watching Chapter 16 of The Mandalorian. (Insert one liners about Luke Skywalker - Rogue One Vader)The Rescue answered some questions, but created many more. We’ll do our best to try to answer these questions, and then Sam will be given 60 seconds to scream about The Book of Boba Fett. It's TIME for Tatooine Sons! There’s both good news and bad news from the Season 2 finale of The Mandalorian. The good news is that we didn’t have a massive cliffhanger where Baby Yoda was left in the clutches of an evil Imperial war lord. The bad news is, there are still more questions than answers about Mando, Baby Yoda, Bo Katan and even the future of the show. 1. Now that he's finished his quest to reunite Baby Yoda with the Jedi, what's next for Mando2. What is Bo Katan going to do now that Gideon is in the custody of the New Republic?3. Who’s the bad guy now?4. Will the cloning storyline continue to be explored?5. Will we see Luke Skywalker again?6. Is Grogu really gone?

The Mandalorian Season 2 Finale Predictions!
The Season 2 finale of The Mandalorian is coming TOMORROW! After a wild ride across the galaxy, there are many questions still lingering: will Mando reject the Creed? How’s he going to get on Moff Gideon’s ship? Is there a Jedi coming to the rescue? Will we see Thrawn? And of course, what’s going to happen to Baby Yoda (Grogu)? We’re going to do our best to answer these questions and more, right after we recap Chapter 15. And we’re joined by a very special guest this week (it's Samuel the Hutt's new girlfriend!)It's TIME for Tatooine Sons! You can follow us on our socials, check out our website, buy Tatooine Sons merch and more here: flow.page/tatooinesonsHOT TAKESOur regular show’s HOT TAKES were derailed by the crazy Star Wars announcements that happened last week. That means we haven’t had the chance to talk about Chapter 15: The Believer. Cara is breaking out a prisoner. Mayfeld poses a theological question. And Mando rejects The Way. That’s all up next on Hot Takes! Chapter 15 centers around Mando’s need to find out where Moff Gideon’s Imperial Cruiser is, so they can get busy rescuing Baby Yoda (Grogu). We learned at the close of Chapter 14, that Mando and Cara Dune are going to bust Mayfeld out of a New Republic Prison to make this happen. Were you a little worried about those first moments when Mando and Mayfeld are reunited? When Mando, Boba, Fennec and Mayfeld get to Morak, there’s a fun exchange between the crew that takes place when they discover that the best way to get into the base with the terminal Mayfeld needs to access is to hijack an Imperial Juggernaut transporting rydonium. It’s a two man job, but not everyone is capable of passing through the required ISB scans. There’s a lot of foreshadowing of what will happen at the end of the episode. Mayfeld and Mando have a really heavy conversation while on the Juggernaut. Mayfeld calls Mando’s devotion to “The Way” when he asks Mando if he can’t remove his helmet, or if he can’t show his face. We’re going to talk more about the mask/face situation in a moment, but let's look at the drink share between Mando and Mayfeld, and Valin Hess - the Imperial officer who Mayfeld served under during Operation: Cinder. For those who may not know what that is, take a second to explain it.It was hinted at throughout the entire episode - Mando is faced with a critical choice: follow “The Way” and fail in his mission to discover where Baby Yoda (Grogu) is, or violate his creed and show his face. What were you thinking when Mando took his bucket off?

Boba Fett is Back! But Where is Baby Yoda?
Chapter 14 of The Mandalorian WAS NOT a “filler episode!” In fact, there’s too much that happened for us to limit it to 3 Hot Takes. So we’re altering the deal, this week...After that, we’ll look at the incomparable AP-5, and why his age and experience helped save the Rebellion! It’s TIME for Tatooine Sons! Get your BOBA FETT, AHSOKA, and PORG shirts, stickers, and other merch! https://cutt.ly/tsmercht’s just too hard. We can’t distill everything that happened in Chapter 14 of The Mandalorian into only three Hot Takes. So this week, we’re expanding to 10 questions that we’re going to answer in rapid succession. Let’s call it Hot Takes: Hyperdrive! Boba Fett is back! And his return saw more screen time and dialogue than he had in the ENTIRE Original Trilogy films, combined. Has the green bounty hunter who was unceremoniously dumped into the Sarlacc pit in Return of the Jedi finally earned the overwhelming fan obsession he’s received for 40+ years?Boba Fett is played by Temeura Morrison - who played Jango Fett in Attack of the Clones and was the template for the Clones in the prequel era. The first half of his appearance in Chapter 14 was without the armor. Let’s just say it - he kicked butt! What was it like seeing Boba Fett battle without his Mandalorian armor? It probably shouldn’t have been a surprise, but it was confirmed that the caped figure who approached the lifeless body of Fennec Shand in Chapter 5 “The Gunslinger” was Boba Fett, who not only rescued Shand, but restored her to health using robotics. Shand is one of the most dangerous assassins in the galaxy at this time. Can Mando and Boba trust her? While Boba Fett is clearly alive and well, we don’t know how he survived the Sarlacc pit. We do know he’s been hanging out on Tatooine. But that presents another question: he flew the Slave I all the way to Tython to get his armor back, when he could have just taken it from Cobb Vanth. Why?It didn’t take long for Grogu to take on the classic Jedi meditation pose and reach out through the Force when Mando placed him on the seeing stone on Tython. He was locked in for a very long time. Do you think he finished because he was exhausted, or because he made a connection? And if he made a connection, is anyone coming to find Grogu before the end of this season? We knew they were coming. What did you think about our first exposure to the Dark Troopers?Moff Gideon not only seemed pleased to have reacquired “The Asset” he lost in Chapter 3 - he reveled in Grogu’s use of some very Dark Side abilities to defend himself against the Storm Troopers in his prison cell. We know Gideon wants Grogu for his high M-Count. But is there more going on here than just blood harvesting? We never really thought of Boba Fett as someone with a “creed.” But his commitment to help Mando rescue Grogu changes that. He still describes himself as “...a simple man, trying to make my way in the universe,” but the revelations about Jango Fett being a foundling indicates that Boba’s father may have taught him “The Way” of the Mandalorian. Do you like the new info revealed about Jango Fett? One thing that survived the obliteration of The Razorcrest was the Beskar staff given to Mando by Ahsoka in the previous episode. It’s almost inevitable that we see that come into use by Mando in a battle against Moff Gideon and his Dark Saber. Do you think Mando will be able to hold his own against Gideon? Or is this leading to a very “dark” conclusion to Season 2?The episode ends with Mando asking Cara Dune - Marshall of the New Republic - if she can help him nust Mayfield out of a New Republic prison so Mando can get to Grogu on Gideon’s Destroyer. Is that the trajectory of the next two episodes? Or are we in for more surprises?

The Dynamic Droids of Star Wars: Chopper
This show was ORIGINALLY slated to be recorded last Thursday, and released on Friday morning. That didn’t happen. Why, you ask? That’s because of an incident that will forever be known within the family as “The Alternator Story.” Dad will BREAK (hint hint) it down for you at the top of the show. After all of that, we’re diving into the last two episodes of The Mandalorian, Sam and I will give our initial reviews of Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge, and we’ll share our favorite moments from that stubborn but lovable droid from Star Wars: Rebels, Chopper! The Dynamic Droids of Star Wars: R2D2
When we think of Star Wars, it’s hard to find another image than the moment that R2D2 plays Princess Leia’s message to Obi Wan Kenobi. In fact, most of the best moments in Star Wars include R2D2. How can it be that a droid has such a critical influence on the story? Could it be that R2D2 is the actual hero of Star Wars? What do Snoke, Rey, and maybe even The Child have in common? Did Palpatine get the idea of the Death Star from the High Republic? And what’s the deal with Obi Wan letting Anakin survive on Mustafar? That’s all next on Hot Takes. The Greatest Villains in Star Wars: Emperor Palpatine
Over the 3 years we've been recording this podcasts, we've talked about Sheev Palpatine A LOT. There's a good reason for that: he's the villain of the ENTIRE Skywalker Saga! But beyond that, he's fascinating as he moves from "humble senator from Naboo" to "reluctant" Chancellor of the Republic, and then finally to the Emperor of the Galactic Empire. But did #StarWars actually HURT the character by bringing him back in #TheRiseOfSkywalker? We’ve flown Tie Fighters and X Wings and A Wings and a bunch of other Star Wars ships. Will Sam and Nathan have to ask for a PS5 for Christmans? And could we FINALLY be getting a Rebels sequel announcement this week? That’s all next on Hot Takes. Star Wars: Squadrons is OUT! Count Dooku was a menacing Sith Lord and central figure in the Clone Wars. Once a Jedi -- trained by Yoda -- he became disillusioned with the Jedi Order and thirsted for greater power. The Greatest Villains in Star Wars: Dryden Vos
Dryden Vos isn’t usually on most Star Wars fan’s lists of greatest villains. However, Solo: A Star Wars Story hinges on this character and Han and Beckett’s insane plot to pay off their debt to him. But the Dryden Vos we got on screen was originally going to be a very different character played by a very different actor. And what’s even cooler, is that the real Dryden Vos wasn’t the real bad guy, anyway. New info, but no trailer, for The Mandalorian. Poe Dameron is a slimy, double-crossing, no-good swindler. The Greatest Villains in #StarWars: #Thrawn

And dare we say, that he’s not only a great villain, he could be a better villain than Vader or Palpatine?https://www.polygon.com/star-wars/2020/9/3/21408128/star-wars-books-thrawn-ascendency-chaos-rising-timothy-zahn-interview-thrawn-trilogyHOT TAKES: Now, characters in The Sims can visit Galaxy’s Edge.
