Making a Podcast: Part 1
The goal of our cast is primarily to HAVE FUN! But, we’re learning a lot too. In this episode, we chat a bit about how we’ve formatted things to make our podcast.
You’ll see a weird naming convention too, which is important! It means we can start new subjects to talk about anytime we want, and contribute to those subjects with new episodes anytime too! Here’s how it works…
We have a lot to talk about, and if some wild idea takes us, we want to be able to follow our inspiration! We have come up with a file naming and categorizing scheme that will let us do just that. Here’s the info we include:
Project>Show>Series>Part>Episode#>Episode-Name
Here’s what the file name looks like…
tss-ts-s1-p1-e001-making-a-podcast.mp3
And what everything stands for…
(The Spectacular Stones)-(Talking Stones)-(Series Number)-(Part Number)-(Episode Number)-(Title of Episode)
For the episode with this post, The Spectacular Stones: Talking Stones: Series 1, Starting a Podcast!: Part 1: Episode 001, Making a Podcast
This way, say we wanted to start a new series on our favorite recipes, we’d just call it Series 2, Cooking! This could well happen on the second or third episode, and if so, it would be Episode 002, Cupcakes in the Kitchen (or somehting like that). Episode 003 may be part 2 of Making a Podcast… and so on. We’ll have tags and such, to help our users explore subjects.
Anyway, it’s all new to us, and we look forward to sharing the learning as we go!
