020: Preds Still Winning Despite 4 Players on IR
Smashville, it's your favorite fan podcast back at it with the whole gang on! There's lots to get to in this episode. 4 players on IR is no joke, and we also had a few players sick for Saturday's game against the Blackhawks. However, we still managed to go 3 - 2 in our 5 game home stand. Forsburg is out 4-6 weeks with an upper body injury. Arvidsson is still out with a broken thumb. Subban and Turris have both been out for the last couple of games. The NHL has announced approval of a 32nd team to be added through expansion in Seattle. Their season will commence for the 2021-2022 season. We speculate what will happen. We have some exciting things to announce coming up! Be sure to tune in for some interviews and the likes that we are planning. You don't want to miss them! @TalkingPreds @SoBroHerbie_B @StoneyKeeley @mccoy3pm talkingpreds.com

019: Preds Power Play Looking Up and Rinne Ties Most Wins by Finnish Goalie
Rinne ties for most all time wins as a Finnish goalie with 319. Think it’s safe to say he’ll run away with that record. Perhaps tonight, unless Saros gets the start against the Blues. The 36 year old Rinne is playing lights out hockey. The Preds Power Play is looking better with a few more goals over the last couple games. It's great to see the team move without the puck, get pucks to the net, and find the back of the net to score some goals. Arvi and PK are still on the IR. We expect to see PK Subban back pretty soon, perhaps after this week. Arvi is out with a broken thumb more than likely until next year. Lots of coaches getting fired this year. We didn't see any last year. A couple reasons could explain this. Follow everyone on twitter! @SoBroHerbie_B @StoneyKeeley @mccoy3pm TalkingPreds.com Facebook.com/TalkingPreds

018: Rinne's Comeback From IR, PK Subban - Jalen Ramsey, and Chicago's Dumpster Fire
The entire crew of Talking Preds is back for this episode! Feels good to have the whole gang talking about our favorite team, your Nashville Predators. Pekka Rinne was on IR for about two weeks, but came back and had arguably one of the best weeks of his life. Had 42 saves against Tampa Bay only giving up one goal, then, on his birthday, signed a 2 year, $10 million extension, and put up a shut-out against Boston's high-powered offense. Ryan Johansen may be an alien with his video game like passes. He has really stepped it up this year and looks like the amazing player we all know him to be. Even with Arvidsson out, the JOFA line has produced. Chicago fires Quenneville as the head coach. It's more of an ousting on Bowman's part to save face, we think. Is any Pred's fan upset about this? I think not! Basically the Predators broke the Chicago Blackhawks, as they've dissolved into a dumpster fire since the Preds swept them in the first round of the 2017 playoffs. 017: Rinne to IR, Preds Shut Down Connor McDavid
On the latest edition of Talking Preds, "Big Natural" Stoney Keeley and Herbie Brooks break down the week that was in Nashville Predators hockey. What does losing Pekka Rinne to IR mean for the team? How impressive was the Preds' ability to completely lock down Oilers superstar Connor McDavid? How can the Preds prepare for the revamped defensive corps of San Jose? All this and more on the latest episode of Talking Preds!

016: A Perfect Season for the Preds?
Your Nashville Predators are off to a 2-0 start, and you can't have a perfect season without winning the first two! Why not try to win them all? Of course, this is the NHL, where that feat would be difficult, however, it's fun to fantasize about. What can we look for in the Preds this year? Well, the core of the team is still here. The 4 defensemen, Subban, Ekholm, Ellis, and Josi are locked in. The top line looks better than ever. And the up and comers are up and coming rapidly. There's a lot to look forward to in this season. Maybe even more than the previous two seasons. We should look for another deep run in the post season. Filip Forsberg never disappoints. It was only fitting for him to score the opening goal of the season. He's only 24 years old, and the skill and talent is starting to leak superstar status. His 40 goals a year is coming soon. How many games will Pekka Rinne play this year? The confidence in Saros is unbelievable, and he backs it up every time he's between the posts. Over or under 50 games, for Pekka? Let us know what you think! We look forward to seeing everyone at Bridgestone tonight for the home opener! Come get you banner and say hi to the Talking Preds peeps. 015: Hockey Is Back In Smashville! - Preseason, Ryan Ellis, Austin Watson and More
This is what we've all been waiting for!  Hockey is back tonight in Nashville.  There's just nothing like it, and we are ecstatic to be back talking about it.  This is Talking Preds after all. The summer seemed long, but give this a listen and you'll be right back in the action.  Herbie Brooks and Charlie McCoy dive into what's happened in preseason so far.  The Predators looked good against Florida.  The top line with Kevin Fiala joining Filip Forsberg and Ryan Johansen looked absolutely unstoppable.  This was fun to watch.  We also has some other contributors that was nice to see. Austin Watson was arrested over the summer.  Hear our take on the situation and what the Preds have to say about it.  Their statement is pretty powerful for the whole family. Ryan Ellis is with us for 7 more years!  This is an excellent move by Poile and Ellis to sign a 6 year, 36 million dollar contract.  Ellis left a lot of money on the table for the Preds.  A humble man. 013: Preds Season Recap, Final Thoughts, What to Look For in the Future
There's nothing like being pierced through the heart by your favorite team. To feel like your soul was crushed and you did everything right, but they broke up with you, still. It's hard to describe this kind of defeat. Sometimes you just want to curl up in a ball and stay in bed all day. You keep trying to convince yourself that it just wasn't meant to be, but deep down you still feel like it was supposed to happened.  That this was the year you were going to go allllllll the way. That's what happened when the Nashville Predators lost game 7 of the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs to the Winnipeg Jets... On home ICE! It's no secret that all of Smashville is defeated and there really isn't anywhere to place the blame. The entire team didn't show up to win 4 games in a 7 game series. We go over some different stats and have some different hot takes, but at the end of the day, the entire team lacked the will to win it. We aren't going anywhere, by the way! Talking Preds will be here to cover the off season and gear you up to look forward to the next season, so stay tuned! Make sure to follow us for updates! 012: Did Anyone Think the Preds/Jets Series Would Be Over Before Game 7?
Well, Smashville, it's here. The Predators face off against the Winnipeg Jets tonight in a game 7 throw-down. Of course, winner moves on, and the loser goes golfing. But, we all knew this. It's a game 7 and almost every one predicted this series to go 7. Your Nashville Predators finished atop the NHL with 117 points, but right behind them was the Winnipeg Jets in 2nd place with 114 points. Nashville only won one more game than the Jets in the regular season. This series has literally had it's ups and downs, for both fans, but it couldn't be a more even series. We break down some stats of when these teams are even strength, and I think you'll fall out of you chair listening to them. Hopefully you're not driving and listening :) We make some bold predictions (Even some ridiculous ones...I won't mention any names... Herbie) and prepare you for Game 7 tonight.  Tune in and follow our contributors on Twitter! @SoBroHerbie_B @mccoy3pm @StoneyKeeley Twitter.com/TalkingPreds Facebook.com/TalkingPreds TalkingPreds.com

011: Group Therapy After Preds-Jets Game 3
It's okay (for now), Preds fans. Take a deep breath and come on in for a little group therapy. "Big Natural" Stoney Keeley and Herbie Brooks fix the Nashville Predators in a 30-minute vent session before Game 4. What went so wrong in Game 3? Can't put all of the blame on the refs, but how bad has NHL officiating been? What do the Preds have to do to turn this series around?  Plus, we discuss the outrage aimed at Taylor Lewan and the Titans offensive line for chugging beer on live television (hint: Nashville is much more "Taylor Lewan chugging beer out of a catfish" than it is "cowboy hats and Luke Bryan skinny jeans"). Or, alternatively titled "Episode 11: They hate us, 'cause they ain't us." Follow us on Twitter and Facebook! The gang's all here, and the gang's all ticked off. Join Charlie McCoy, Herbie Brooks, and "Big Natural" Stoney Keeley as the break down the first three games of the Preds-Avs series. Despite not playing their best hockey, they're still up 2-1 in the series.  Plus, what's up with the Colorado media and Avs fans taking issue with the chants at Preds game, then turning around and chanting "you suck" at P.K. Subban?   All this and some Juuse Saros talk with a quick look around the rest of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.  Follow us on Twitter and Facebook! It's that time of year that we have all been waiting for! Your Nashville Predators are the #1 seed and kicking off the playoffs tonight against the Colorado Avalanche! The guys discuss their playoff hype as well as how they got into the sport of hockey. From Herbie playing NHL Hits on the N64, Stoney just liking the Avalanche logo, to Charlie watching hockey in Louisiana, they all found their way to loving the Preds and what they mean to the city of Nashville. 008: Nashville Predators Stanley Cup Playoff Tickets WON!
Stanley Cup Playoff Tickets have been won! Congrats to Denise Castleberry on winning! Thanks to everyone that entered. We had a great response and you never know when we will have another give-a-way, so, keep listening! In this episode, we answer some great fan questions sent our way. We also, recorded during the Predators vs Panthers game, so there's some extra ear candy in there for you. The power play of the Preds definitely needs some work. It was abysmal for the month of March. There needs to be some more creativity along with greater movement and passing by the forwards. Johansen, Forsberg, and Turris are all too talented for us not to have a better power play. This will be crucial coming down the stretch and entering into the playoffs. Hartnell's penalty in last Saturday's game versus Buffalo was a little much in Charlie's opinion. The result shouldn't dictate the penalty, but that's what happened. Of course, our hope and prayers are with Antipin, and we are elated that he is okay, but Scott Hartnell is not a dirty player and I can guarantee you that he felt like the worst person in the world after that result. We also talk some potential playoff match-ups! Smashville has to be excited about the Predators run to Lord Stanley this year. Follow us on Twitter! Twitter.com/TalkingPreds Facebook! 007: Preds Rebound From Recent Slump and Tolvanen Watch
After a 3 game slid, the Nashville Predators are back in the win column Smashville. There's no reason to panic! We answer some fan questions regarding this and give insights as to what the Preds need to do to accomplish the ultimate goal, Lord Stanley. Tolvanen watch is in full swing! Herbie Brooks and Charlie McCoy discuss this guy's skills and what kind of impact he will have going down the stretch. David Poile will probably want to be careful, because if he ends up playing 9 games, he could be snagged by Seattle's expansion draft. If he doesn't play 9, then he's not eligible. It's absolutely impressive and he's leading the charge for the Vezina Trophy. Chris Mason has been letting everyone know this for about a month now, and now it's completely undisputed at this moment.  He's leading almost every single category, and should be the clear favorite. 005: The Nashville Predators Continue to Break Records This Season
The NHL leading Nashville Predators have broken yet another franchise record. They have reached 100 points in only 69 games and are tied with the Tampa Bay Lightning for the best record in the league. They also, for the first time, scored two short handed goals in the same power play in franchise history in their 3-1 victory over the Jets Tuesday night. Pekka Rinne continues to play lights out, and is leading the Vezina Trophy race. It's not just Pred's fans that are saying this now. Other writers, bloggers, podcasters, and talking heads are coming out with the numbers, and Pekka is just outdoing everyone. At 35 years old, he is having the best season of his career and is one of the many reasons this Predators team is having it's best season in franchise history. The depth of this team will be important, as Calle Jarnkrok is injured. He is having the best season of his career as well, with 35 points, 16 goals and 19 assists.  Austin Watson is just a monster. Another guy having a career year, and is money on the penalty kill. He has 4 shorthanded goals, which is only one behind Aleksander Barkov, a very good player with the Florida Panthers with 69 points on the season. Your Nashville Predators have a commanding lead in the Central Division, up eight points on Winnipeg, a 5 point lead in the Western Conference over the Vegas Golden Knights, and are currently in position to secure the President's trophy for the best record in the league. Do the Predators want to go for the President's trophy? We may have differing opinions on the show.  This is the Play Off ticket announcement episode! 004: You're Delusional If You Think Pekka Rinne Shouldn't Be In The Conversation For Vezina
Pekka Rinne is having an outstanding season in the NHL. There's no question about that. He recorded his 50th shutout of his career against the Dallas Stars on Tuesday night. That is also his 7th of the season. Several on Twitter have exclaimed that Nashville is delusional for thinking Rinne deserves to be in the Vezina conversation. News Flash! He absolutely does. We give you all the golden nuggets in this episode! The Nashville Predators have extended their win streak to 9 in a row- a franchise record! During new additions to the team, Ryan Hartman and Mike Fisher, as well as maintenance days for guys like Captain Roman Josi and Craig Smith, the Predators have broken the franchise record win streak! Can you believe this team? The depth and will to win is the most encouraging thing about this team. Charlie makes a bold prediction that it's possible we haven't seen the Predators play their best hockey yet. And if that's true, that's scary for every other team in the National Hockey League. Listen in as he makes his case. Also, in this episode, a giveaway is announced! Be sure to listen closely for the next steps. You won't want to miss this. Follow us on Twitter! 003: Is David Poile the Greatest GM in NHL History?
It's Talking Preds Time! Join us as we discuss Mike Fisher's return to the Predators tonight! We couldn't be more excited for his return as we are sure all of Smashville is! David Poile is now has the most wins in NHL history - 1,320 wins! Does this make him the greatest GM in NHL history? One could argue! Everything he has done for this franchise has been nothing short of amazing. David Poile's latest move has panned out so far. At the trade deadline, Poile added Ryan Hartman from the Chicago Black Hawks. So far, 2 games in, he has 2 points - 1 goal and 1 assist, including the game winning goal with one minute to go against Winnipeg Tuesday night. Eeli Tolvanen has confirmed with European reporters that as soon as his KHL season concludes with Jokerit, he will sign his entry level contract with the Nashville Predators. This just makes the Preds deeper, and is a great problem to have. 002: Preds Add at the Deadline - Looking to Extend Win Streak?
Hartman from the Black Hawks? What was Poile thinking? Have no fear! Big Natural Stoney Keeley and Herbie Brooks dive into the trade deadline, what David Poile was thinking with the Ryan Hartman trade, and much more! The NHL trade deadline was fascinating to say the least. Mike Fisher has also signed his deal with the Nashville Predators! Fans rejoice! Early reports indicate he could join the line-up sometime in the next 4 games on the road. I know when he steps on the ice at Bridgestone Arena, that place will be going insane. With Fisher back, who is going to play on the 4th line? Who is going to have to sit? Competition is never a bad thing! This is a great problem to have. Also, depth is so important for the playoffs as we've seen injuries occur. Pekka Rinne gets his 300th win! Are you kidding me? What a great accomplishment for a player that deserves it with all the hard work and dedication. Smashville loves you Pekka! Join us tonight at River Front Tavern in Mount Juliet for away game view party against the Jets! This is for first place in the Central Division. Come out, have some food and drinks, and meet us!
