Episode 2: Surviving Wildfires and Ranching with Kids in Winter Storms featuring Jaimie Stoltzfus
Our guest is Jaimie Stoltzfus, the founder of both Cowgirl Meat Co, and Spurring Change equine therapy -- both in Montana. Jaimie is a rancher, a mom, and a recent "convert" to being a bit of a prepper, but on her own terms. Jaimie is also a wildfire survivor, and regularly braves extreme winter conditions. Jaimie shares some incredible stories and insights with us: How she works, with two young children, outside on a ranch in the middle of historic winter storms What it's like to stand face-to-face with a wildfire, and see ranch animals tragically die from extreme weather events What she keeps in her truck, after a scary experience caught in a winter storm What surprised her when she used the Supply Drop Alpha App, and what she learned to do better in the future The unique risks, and unique approach to crisis, of ranching and rural communities She agreed to record an Instagram video of herself trying a fire extinguisher -- for the first time The role of the "that's what we do" attitude in responding to a crisis Jaimie is interviewed by her sister and co-founder of Supply Drop, Courtney Klein. Sean McDonald joins in, and produced and edited this episode. To use the Alpha App discussed in the episode, please visit http://alpha.supplydropkits.com/. In this first episode of the Survival Studio podcast, we talk with the future host of the podcast, Courtney Klein. Courtney is a serial entrepreneur, an Emmy winner, a mom, and now -- a prepper. Courtney will also tell us a little bit about the Survival Studio popup in LA, a retail and training experience coming this summer.
