Amanda DoAmaral, founder of Fiveable
Amanda DoAmaral grew up with a natural disposition for history and teaching, but it wasn't until she was thrown into a classroom of failing seventh grade students in south-central Los Angeles that she realized two things: students weren't being shown that they could succeed, and she could do something about it. After 5 years transforming her student's success in AP (advanced placement) classes, Amanda founded Fiveable to bring AP exam preparation to a broader audience online. Two years later, she and her team secured over $600k in seed funding, have just made all of their content free to students, and aim to have 1 million visitors hitting their site by May.Get in touch with Fiveable on social media @thinkfiveable, or email hi@fiveable.me.Find the Supplemental Podcast online, or get in touch: contact@supplementalpodcast.comAnd lastly a shoutout to Lara Brian from Startup Moxie for suggesting Amanda as a potential guest!
