5 Overlooked Keys To Success
Have you ever wondered what is key to success in life? Well, I wish it were just one key to success, however there is more than one key to success. In fact, today we will cover the 5 Overlooked Keys To Success that go against what many people teach. Once you understand these, I expect a dramatic change to happen to both your mindset and your life. Back when I was bankrupt, homeless and sleeping on the floor of an empty office space in a mortgage company in Rockville, MD owned by a guy name Fred Burns, my life was spinning out of control as I kept believing and doing the opposite of these 5 keys. Through the cloud of despair, depression and fighting just to eat and breath, I was willing to do anything. It’s when I started doing the opposite of what I was doing and started hacking out a different path that things changed and they changed… FAST. It wasn’t overnight, however I was shocked when in 12 months I went from literally broke to over $500,000 and then over the 12 months that followed generating $2 million dollars. I hope these 5 overlooked keys to success unlock the door for you as they did for me. Overlooked Key To Success #1: _________, not _______. Overlooked Key To Success #2: _________, not time. Overlooked Key To Success #3: _________, not _______. Overlooked Key To Success #4: _________, not effort. Overlooked Key To Success #5: _________, not intentions. How To Escape Thought Prisons and Mental Strongholds
What are Thought Prisons and Mental Strongholds? They are the negative and sabotaging thoughts that create feelings that sidetrack and derail you. In today’s episode we look at the most overlooked source of where they come from, how they dominate you and what you can do about them. QUESTION: “Are you affected and afflicted” by the whispering words of witchcraft?” Witchcraft is about control via spells. Verbal spells can consist of negative labels that people place on you or that you place on yourself. QUESTION: “How do you become spellbound?” A negative verbal spell is spoken over you repeatedly by someone. (This is “casting the spell”) It then becomes your own internal incantation. (This is you capturing and carrying the spell.) QUESTION: “What is an incantation?” Wekipedia: An incantation is a charm or spell created using words. An incantation may take place during a ritual, either a hymn or prayer, and may invoke or praise a deity. In magic, occultism, and witchcraft it is used with the intention of casting a spell on an object or a person. We are going to discuss the connection between words, spells and mental strongholds. Additionally, in today’s episode we discuss: The 3 Phases of The “Broken Halo” Effect The DNA of Destruction Remaining Free From Verbal Witchcraft The 3 Steps Of Conception to Crisis – How We Got To Where We Are …and uh, so much more! Mind Viruses - The 7 Deadly Venoms
Perspective is everything. It’s your mental view and it acts as both a bridge and a barricade to your future. Your perspective is a lens and filter through which you view the world and interpret events. What that means is that what you are looking at isn’t what you actually see, and what is happening isn’t what you are experiencing. What we see and what we experience is depended on our perspectives and mental filters. Now here’s where today’s podcast episode comes in. I have found that there 7 perspectives, that I call mind viruses, the 7 deadly venoms that sabotage us from the inside our minds. These mind viruses prevent us from making progress and leading productive lives. Each of these mind viruses in the form of the 7 deadly venoms also have a certain emotions attached to them and a certain ways they manifest in our lives. In today’s podcast we look at these mind viruses and breakdown each of the 7 deadly venoms of the mind to include the emotions attached to them and how they manifest. We will then wrap it up with some alternative mental choices to act as anti-venom (if you will) to those 7 deadline venoms. Once you know this, you can do an inventory of yourself and see if you have any of these mind viruses, and if so you can take action to rid yourself of them and make even more productive progress in your life. So welcome to today’s episode, let’s get started. Overcoming Fear - Winners Therapy To Overcome FUD
Is overcoming fear, dealing with uncertainty, overcoming self-doubt something you have been wanting do to? If so, I get it because living a life that is intoxicated with fear, uncertainty, and doubt is perhaps the #1 one reason why most people don’t realize their true potential. If that’s you then you want to listen to today’s episode immediately because we will look at overcoming fear, dealing with uncertainty, and overcoming self-doubt with what I call “the winner’s therapy.” To get you into the right frame of mind before listening to the episode, I want to give you a scenario to introduce the concept of negativity using an example that relates to alcohol and being intoxicated. Imagine for a moment a very good family man, who is a loving husband and caring father. It’s a Friday evening and after a long week, he’s going for a night out with his friends. He kisses his wife and kids and then heads for the bar to meet up with his friends. One drink turns to two and then four and continues until he’s ready to come home. He gets into his car, completely intoxicated. He begins to drive. He doesn’t get too far before he’s pulled over by the police. He’s asked to step out of the car and asked to perform the usual checks. He’s asked to touch his nose but he can’t even find his nose. He’s asked to walk in a straight line and can’t do that either. He’s asked to take the breathalyzer test and he’s actually so drunk he doesn’t know who he is or what he’s doing. Thankfully this man was pulled over by the police because there could have been another outcome. Somebody could have been killed, he could have been killed. Now, he is not a bad man, he is a good family man but he got intoxicated. Now, I want to ask you this question. Are you intoxicated? No, I’m not talking about alcohol intoxication… I’m talking about your thoughts and your negativity level. Are you intoxicated with negative thoughts? Negativity can cause the similar effects as being drunk. You’ll be off balance and unable to find the nose on your face. Driving your life drunk with fear, uncertainty, and doubt is a sure-fire way to crash into what you don’t want… it’s a dream killer. Unfortunately, many people have high toxic levels of fear, uncertainty, and doubt. Fear is disorienting and distorts what’s possible while uncertainty and doubt can suffocate your ability to think clearly and act productively. There are doors to your future that only faith, certainty, and confidence can unlock. So in today’s episode of The Success Sculpting Show, we will look at overcoming fear, dealing with uncertainty, overcoming self-doubt. Stephen Pierce on 6 Actions That Can Change Your Life
Change Your Life with These Six Types Of Success Actions Today’s episode is going to discuss the different types of actions that are available that can change your life and accelerate your success. There is so much more to taking action than just going out and doing something and that’s what the focus of this episode is all about. Let’s Talk About Cause and Effect Actions can be put into different categories with the understanding that if you take a certain action you’ll achieve a certain result. The action can cause a problem or it can cause an opportunity and you generally don’t take an action that is going to cause a problem. Every problem and opportunity has some kind of effect associated with it. There are things you need to take into consideration when dealing with cause and effect. For example, planting an acorn is supposed to equal an oak tree. This is the cause and effect, but if you plant an acorn in the desert you’re not going to get an oak tree. What I want to focus on is particular actions that relate to ‘cause problems and effects’ and ‘opportunities and effects’. Hindsight is 20/20 When you consider hindsight you’re looking at an action you took that caused something to happen. This action may have caused a certain problem and you had to take what is called a corrective action. You can change your life by taking a corrective action to make sure you don’t repeat or start developing a pattern. One of the first actions you need to take is corrective action. If you look in hindsight and you see there is a certain effect that has already taken place because of something you’ve done or something someone else has done, you’ll need to take what is called an adaptive action. You can change your life by taking an action to adapt to certain effects that have already taken place. An example of an adaptive action that you see all the time are changes in technology and the internet. Corrective action and adaptive action are two actions you use based on hindsight and the can change your life. To summarize you use corrective action to prevent that cause from happening again and you use adaptive action to adapt to what is changing in your environment based on effects that have taken place. There are other actions you need to look at also. You can look into the future and take preventative action. This is where you ensure certain things won’t happen. You can also take contingency action. Contingency action can change your life because it’s based on foresight and taking action on what might happen. Below is an example of contingency action. You walk into an office building and you see a no smoking sign. In terms of action, the no smoking sign is a preventative action. It is to prevent people from smoking in the building and causing a fire. If someone decided they were going to smoke in the building and a fire took place, there are fire extinguishers in the building. The existence of the fire extinguishers is the contingency action. What if the fire took place? The existence of automatic sprinklers is an example of adaptive action because the environment will automatically adapt to the fire and smoke in the building and trigger the sprinklers. There are two more actions that can change your life that I want to discuss and these are promoting actions and exploiting actions. Promoting actions are something that you proactively and deliberately do to promote an opportunity of some kind. This could be to sell a product, generate more sales, get more customers or more partners. Promoting action is where you take a specific action while looking to promote an opportunity. When you look at the opportunity, what are the effects of the opportunity that you can actually exploit? Exploiting action, in this instance, is in a positive way. Look at Disney for example. Disney puts out a movie and if the movie does really well, they exploit the movie. The characters from the movie show up in Disneyland and in stores with products ranging from coloring books, action figures, clothing and more. Athletes are another good example of this. Athletes who have top performances are exploited by different marketing companies. Michael Jordan was exploited by Nike. Maria Sharapova is exploited by Canon. What it all means is that you get the maximum mileage out of the opportunity and the effects of the opportunity. It is not a negative thing when we use exploiting actions. You use proactive action to promote an opportunity and then you use exploiting action on its effects. Again, let’s look at sports. Nike didn’t create Michael Jordan. He used promoting action to put him into the superstar category. The marketing companies then arrived on the scene to exploit his prestige, to exploit his image and to exploit his top performance for the benefit of helping them grow their own companies. Now you have six different actions that you can use to change your life: Change your life with Corrective actions Change your life with Adaptive actions Change your life with Preventative actions Change your life with Contingency actions Change your life with Promoting actions Change your life with Exploiting actions Corrective actions are actions that you choose to make sure you don’t create the same cause over again. These actions are based on hindsight. Adaptive actions are actions that you choose to adjust and adapt to certain effects that have already taken place. Both of these actions are based on hindsight. Preventative actions are actions to prevent a certain cause from happening. Contingency actions are actions that are based on the ‘what if’. Both of these actions are based on foresight or looking into the future. Promoting actions are actions that look to create opportunities that you can then leverage using exploiting actions. Can you see how all these actions are tied together and how you can use them for your business success? It is not just one specific action that you need to take but several different kinds of actions depending on what is happening. We all interact with our environment. We interact with other people and if you can understand that you’re not limited to certain things and that you do have a selection of actions you can take relative to what is going on, then you can better exploit the things that are going on. You can also better adjust to things and have tremendous success in your life. In the context of success actions and how they relate to your circumstances, please review and answer these 10 questions. When considering what action to take in your business do you look at the effects before choosing the action? In relation to your business success what corrective actions could you now put in place? What adaptive actions could you choose to take to ensure your business success? Looking towards your future success what preventative actions do you need to take? Again looking towards your future success, what contingency actions should you take? What promoting actions can you take right now in your business to ensure success? Are there any exploiting actions that you can take right now to further your success? Taking a good look at your business and personal life what actions do you need to take to make things work? How can you tie all 6 actions together to formulate an action plan that will inevitably lead to your success? What is the very first action you’re going to take right now? Stephen Pierce - Motion, Action Forward Progress
Stephen Pierce Momentum Mixx – Motion, Action Forward Progress This Track 2 of the Stephen Pierce Momentum Mixx motivational series. The message is about motion, action, forward progress. To succeed at whatever you choose to do, we must move beyond thinking about it, talking about it and hoping for it. We most take focused relentless action that leads to positive motion, action, and forward progress. We become shaped and build character and discipline by taking action. When taking action we will make mistakes, have setbacks and have to face obstacles and even overcome odds. Like fire purifying gold and severe pressure on a rock creating a diamond, the greatest of flames and the pressure cooker of success is found only when we take action. When we get into motion and when you start progressing forward. Taking action is your biggest teacher, everything else is an assumption. Sure, we can read books, watch videos, listen to audios and attend workshops and seminars. In that process, we are acquiring information. Knowledge is displayed through the implementation of that information and from that implementation (taking action) we build wisdom. C Edward Moten - Success in an Untapped Market
On today’s show, we’re going to be flying high with C Edward Moten, a cutting-edge entrepreneur and a servant for safe and luxurious travel. Ed is CEO of Dominion Charter Ltd, a company that was birthed about eight years ago. His ability to understand seamless travel put the company in a position to facilitate exceptional travel for those in business while giving more time to the perfection of the process. Being a history buff, Ed set out to ensure that for clients of Dominion Charter Ltd, time management would lead to life management. The focus became the process of spending more human capital much better for better results at home, as well as in the boardroom. Ed has an extensive theological training and he once thought that theology would be his lot in life. The most significant thing for Ed at this point in his life is seeking to solve problems with travel, one client at a time, and it should be noted that Ed owns one of the few minority-owned charter jet companies. Years ago, while working as a paralegal, Ed learned the importance of the best you and today, we’re going to learn from him what that means. [00:02:15] The Difference between a Polished Person and a Progressive Person When you’re polished, it gives the assumption that you have arrived, and when you have that attitude, you plateau. On the other hand, when you’re progressive, you understand that opportunity is always evolving, and opportunity gets greater as you evolve. To progress, you can learn by watching others, learn by reading, and make sure you stay connected to what works. [00:08:41] If You Want to Seize the Opportunity, You Must Die to Self Ed had to learn to give up his inclination to a comparative conversation in order to be open to opportunities. We sometimes get set in ways that paralyze us from recognizing or pursuing new opportunities. [00:11:57] It Takes Wisdom to Unhook Yourself from Destructive Tendencies Begin with being honest with yourself, recognizing both the good and bad in you, and decide what you want to change about yourself in pursuit of progress. To accept the truth is to understand that truth is a fact, no matter how you feel about it. And it will be that fact, whether you like it or shrink back from it. There are four steps to unhooking yourself: Acknowledge truth Accept truth Articulate truth Authenticate truth [00:20:07] Getting to Self-Honesty People won’t always give an honest opinion because they are being sensitive to your relationship. They might give a more positive opinion than you need at the time or one that is more negative than you need, based on the temperature of your relationship, and it can be dangerous. [00:29:04] Dealing with Stress, Strain, and Struggle When It Comes to Business Ed deals with stress, strain and struggle by focusing on his desired end for being in business. No matter what he sees or experiences, it does not distract him from that desired end. He knows that conflicts will come because they are part of the process, and he has learned that you don’t always have to open your mouth and defend yourself. As scripture says, even a fool, when he holds his peace, is counted wise! [00:33:59] It’s a Routine but Is It Right? If somebody else’s routine works for them, that’s great. But if that routine does not yield to you what it yielded to them, before you beat yourself up over it, reroute yourself. Look only for the principles in the routine that are right and then apply them. [00:38:51] Have an Affirming and Positive Outlet When You’re Discouraged Any person who feels that they will advance without obstacles, opponents, or any odds, is fooling themselves. Discouragement is like the speed bump on your way to where you are going. Ed’s positive outlet is reading: someday, he might write a book about the psychology of entrepreneurs. For entrepreneurs who need encouragement, he recommends John Maxwell’s How Successful People Think. [00:45:39] Last Words for Today Wisdom is the principle thing and, as scripture says, even if it costs all of you, get wisdom. How To Reach C Edward Moten Dominion Charter Ltd. Email: info[@]dominioncharterltd.com Telephone: +1.877.553.4223 Additional Quotes [00:02:28] Opportunity doesn’t need a polished person but a progressive person. – C Edward Moten [00:04:26] The part of you that you feed the most is the part of you that will grow the most. – C Edward Moten [00:12:23] Knowledge is what you know, and wisdom is how to handle what you know. – C Edward Moten [00:14:39] It isn’t what we don’t know that gives us trouble, it’s what we know that ain’t so. Steve Olsher – Reinventing Yourself for Success and Happiness
Today, we have with us none other than Steve Olsher, the world’s foremost reinvention expert, famous for helping individuals and corporations become exceptionally clear on their WHAT, the one thing they were created to do. His practical no-holds-barred approach to life and business propels his clients towards achieving massive profitability while also cultivating a life of purpose, conviction, and contribution. Steve has over 25 years of business and entrepreneurial experience, and as chairman and founder of Liquor.com, he is the online pioneer of this company which launched on CompuServe’s Electronic Mall in 1993. He is also the author of New York Times Bestseller What is your WHAT? and the business technology book of the year, Internet Prophets. An international keynote speaker and in-demand media guest, Steve has appeared on CNN, The Huffington Post, Entrepreneurs on Fire, and countless other media outlets. He hosts the #1 radio show podcast Reinvention Radio. If you are trying to reinvent yourself and get a new life, this show is for you. Reinventing Yourself for Success [00:02:45] Three Steps to Discovering Your WHAT To live a life of fulfillment, purpose, and conviction, you need to understand what your WHAT is. Steve explains three steps to discovering your WHAT. Understand your core gift, e.g., teaching, entertaining, healing, or protecting. Understand the primary vehicle that you will use to share your gift. Understand the people that you are most compelled to serve. [00:10:21] What Does Reinventing Mean? It does not mean you have to change anything about yourself and who you are. It’s a matter of shedding the shackles of the personalities, expectations, whims, and agendas of other people and getting to the essence of who you truly are. [00:12:40] The Difference between Your WHY and Your WHAT Your WHY is something that you choose and is reflective of why you do what you do, whereas your WHAT is reflective of what is in your DNA; it is already within you. [00:20:00] Four Paths That Lead toward Discovering Your WHAT The Birthers: These are people who have known from the womb who they are and what it is they’re most compelled to do. The Shifters: They are usually already in the right environment, but they need to make a subtle adjustment to the What is your WHAT? framework and get fired up about life again. The “Reinventors”: People who do a 180° turn on what they were doing, like the corporate attorney who closes shop to become a surfing instructor. The Wanderers: Most people wander through life without a clear understanding of what their WHAT is. [00:24:50] The Turning Point An experience with mortality made Steve question his life’s purpose and what his legacy will be. He decided to start helping people live a more fulfilling life by sharing with them the tips, tools, and strategies that had worked well in his life. [00:35:15] Why Steve is Giving Away Free Ebooks Steve is happy to give the book for free and be like the first domino that sets things in motion. The more people find their WHAT and impact others, the more the world will be a better place. [00:43:02] Find Your WHAT before College Unless someone is clear on what their WHAT is and what it is that they want to do, college might not be the right choice. Too many people end up taking a major that they have no interest in and then going into an unrelated field after graduation. [00:44:16] The Last Word You are the solution to someone else’s problem. There are people that are praying for you to show up in their life right now. Additional Quotes [00:02:56] Those who are clear on what their WHAT is, seem to be able to live that life of fulfillment, purpose, and conviction. [00:07:42] Until you get in there and try these things, you’re not going to have a sense of what vehicle is going to make the most sense for you. [00:36:04] Somebody’s got to be willing to be that first domino and set things in motion, and this is one of the things I’m willing to do. [00:40:49] 85% of those who graduate with a four-year degree don’t work in their field of study within five years of graduation. [00:45:13] When you’ve got that focus and purpose, you’ll find that things that used to bother you will carry a lot less weight. How to Change Your Life - Amazing Secrets Revealed
Would you like to know how to change your life? If the answer is yes and you want to know how to change your life, then hit play and listen to today’s episode. [00:05:00] The Psychological Effect There are two parts of the brain; the conscious and the subconscious. Your conscious mind is like a coach while your subconscious mind is like the players in a game. In the same way that players do whatever the coach instructs them to do, your subconscious mind obeys the messages that you feed it with. Coach your subconscious mind to work towards success by controlling five types of messages: Where you focus your thoughts: Focus on positive future outcomes instead of past disappointments. Self-talk: Rather than saying destructive things and talking to yourself about past failures, say something constructive that will support you. Talk to yourself about previous successes and future positive expectations. Mental Images: Replace images of failure with images that envision your success. Feelings: Refuse to harbor feelings of doubt and apprehension. Beliefs: Believe that this is something you can do. [00:12:06] You Have Control over What You Do with the Bad You may not be able to control what person comes into your life speaking negative things to you, but you can control the amount of awareness and energy you give it. You can choose not to spend time and energy stressing over negative talk and past bad experiences. [00:14:17] You Cannot Make Money and Excuses at the Same Time A big dream-destroyer is to keep doing what is convenient and comfortable instead of doing what will make you great. Change your thinking patterns. When thoughts of “I can’t” begin to cloud your mind, stop them and immediately replace them with thoughts of “I can.” [00:19:57] The One Thing That We Can Control Many of us spend time frustrated about things that we have no control over, sometimes worrying about the future and things that have not yet happened. That is a destructive way of thinking. You have the power to reject thoughts that don’t support you. [00:28:07] Some Truths About Money The first truth is that debt is okay if you know what to do with it. Use borrowed money to invest in things that appreciate to give you a positive ROI. The second truth is that money never sleeps, so find a system that allows you to make money 24/7. Put your money where you can earn passive residual income. When you stop working and you stop getting paid, you’ll still have money coming in. [00:39:25] Take Action Nothing happens until you take action. Begin by taking advantage of other people’s wisdom through reading books and taking courses. It is said that people who make the most money have the hugest libraries because they’re continuously learning. But having the right information is useful only if you use it. Action may require that you rearrange your schedule to invest time into a new venture or borrow funds to get started. Be decisive and do what you need to do to get to where you want to go. [00:45:43] Understanding the Process Will Help You Have Patience Impatience prevents many from becoming successful; either they overestimate how fast something can happen, or they underestimate what is required of them to make it happen. As a result, they quit before their investment of time, money, and energy has had a chance to yield results. Understanding the process gives you the sense to allow enough time for efforts to materialize. [00:57:13] Making Progress Is a Personal Choice By our choices or by what we’re focusing on, we are either helping to manifest our goals, or sabotaging ourselves. The power that every single one of us has in common is the power of choice. We choose to shape our lives according to the outcomes we want to have and based on the kind of contributions we want to make in this world. Additional Quotes Mind is the cause. 7 Barriers To Success and How To Overcome Them
Today, I want to talk about seven barriers to success because I believe understanding these barriers is critical to you becoming successful. So, if you want to identify these barriers to success that could be holding you back and want to understand how to break through any of these barriers to success, then click play and let’s get to it. [00:00:45] Barriers to Success #1: Being Reasonable Being reasonable means going for what we think we can get versus what it is we really want. Just because you haven’t accomplished that thing yet doesn’t mean you can’t accomplish it, and just because you haven’t done it before, doesn’t mean you can’t do it. There’s a difference between possibilities and probabilities. Anything is possible, but what is “probable” depends on what you are doing now. Focus on increasing the probabilities and don’t mind what other people think is realistic. Dare to be unreasonable. [00:08:59] Barriers to Success #2: More of the Same We want to make sure that what we are doing is what we should be doing. Continuing to do more of what we’ve done before is not necessarily the right thing. Remember that things are constantly shifting around us, so what worked before does not guarantee success today. Think about companies like Pan American Airlines and Blockbuster which were once market leaders. They got caught up in doing more of the same and lost their position. Step back and evaluate where you are now and where you want to be in a few months or years. Do you need to do things differently or do you need to do different things? [00:17:56] Barriers to Success #3: Doubt Doubt means believing in your limits instead of your unlimited potential. Granted, we’re influenced by environments, by people, personalities, and attitudes, and sometimes we can become influenced by what happened in our past. But once you set your mind and energy on something, doubt is an abuse of your belief system. In fact, it’s a personal abuse because we’re the ones that choose our doubts. The antidote is to have faith. Start by looking backward on what you have already accomplished in life and all the skills you have acquired along the way. Choose to have faith that you have what it takes to achieve your goals. [00:28:17] Barriers to Success #4: Faith in The Familiar We find comfort in old routines yet if we want a new result, we must be prepared to get out of our comfort zone. Even if you’re happy with the same result, you have to know when it’s necessary to change. In 2007, 2008, 2009, people were continuing to do the familiar; getting up, going to work, doing their jobs, but they got laid off. Something had changed dramatically, and it was out of their control. Comfort, like procrastination, is hypnotic but what makes you comfortable is not what’s going to make you great. Decide where you want to go. [00:32:42] Barriers to Success #5: Picking the wrong risk Risks are inevitable in life. When you risk being in love, you risk being hurt. When you risk winning, you risk losing. The question is, will this risk move me towards my goals, vision, and mission, or is it going to keep me defending what it is that I have? Where there is a small risk, there is probably only small rewards and small winnings. Use your intelligence and get proper counsel but go out there and risk it all to win it all. You’ve got one life, don’t put it on the shelf because you’re afraid of losses. [00:35:55] Barriers to Success #6: Passivity There are those that want to succeed, and then there are those that refuse to live without it. Those that only want success are relaxed in their comfort zone, talking about it, wishing and wanting, but not rolling up their sleeves to “put their belly to the bar.” You can believe in the law of attraction, but without work, no amount of speaking will bring success into existence. It’s okay to have a vision, a mental image as a blueprint for your goals. In fact, it is necessary to have that image to help you plan. But then you have to get to work to achieve it. [00:41:20] Barriers to Success #7: Preparation Preparation is not bad! But planning and preparing for too long turns into procrastination. Every plan that you expect to execute is an assumption that it will work and the only way to prove our assumptions right or wrong is to take action. It’s great to have coaches, mentors, consultants, or go to seminars, read books and listen to shows like this, but action is your biggest teacher. A seed in a drawer will always remain a seed and never becomes the harvest. Go out there, plant yourself with action, and produce the harvest that you can produce, by overcoming these seven barriers to success. [00:03:13] Start with a Life Plan before a Business Plan It takes 18-24 months for a small business to break even, and in the first few years, there is a lot of sacrifices involved. Without proper planning, people quit good jobs to start a business and then end up hating it because they didn’t think it through. [00:08:34] Being Successful in Business Requires Discipline You must use financial information to make business decisions. Have proper discipline and focus, in setting up structures, systems, processes, and plans for your business. Melinda explains how to avoid being a conference junkie; be disciplined about the events you attend and use a networking strategy. [00:19:31] The 6 C’s of Social Media Communication Connect: Find out where your target is online Communicate: Decide what you will communicate Content: communicate with helpful content Consistency: communicate consistently Community: become a trusted member of the community Commerce: after you gain trust, you can turn the relationship into commerce [00:23:38] Tips for Starting Your Own Business in 12 Months Make sure that you have something to offer the marketplace and then plan your transition from having a job to starting a business. Know how you will fund your business and come up with your own marketing plan. [00:31:27] Some Reasons Why Small Businesses Fail The number one reason is that people don’t think about how hard it is to run a business. Secondly, people often don’t have a network to sell to. Third, people fail to nurture their existing customers. Fourth, people don’t save enough money before starting a business. Fifth, they fail to manage their business on a budget. [00:45:26] A Crash Course in Social Media Start by having your website ready and a way of capturing email addresses of the people who visit. Next, identify your niche target customers and where they hang out online. Then have a content strategy and an editorial calendar. Be patient because when you start a blog, it takes anywhere from 6-12 months to get a comment. [00:57:20] Every Successful Person Needs a Coach Oprah has three coaches. If you can’t afford to hire a coach, pull together a kitchen cabinet of advisors, people you trust to be your confidential sounding board. Your kitchen cabinet should include an entrepreneur, a potential customer, a mentor, and someone with professional skills like a lawyer or accountant. [01:04:38] Tap into the Real Power Source Your power source is in talking to the one who knows us all. If God put it in you, He’s already put all the things around you to execute it. But you have to activate it. [01:10:47] Final Word Now is still a great time to be in business. The world is still waiting for a better mousetrap. Holton Buggs - The Mindset of a $1.3 Million A Month MLM Earner
This episode is incredibly special for all entrepreneurs, network marketers, direct sellers, whether you own a business, or have a sales position within a company. If your sales are dependent on your growth, today is your day. We have with us the $1.3 million-a-month MLM legend, Holton Buggs, the driving force behind ORGANO product launches and incentive programs. He is currently the Chief Visionary Officer, responsible for the global vision that will set the tone and pace for business growth and continued global expansion for ORGANO. Long before his success, Holton was $250,000 in debt, had his Lexus repossessed, and was 45 days away from foreclosure. He knew that something had to change, and that change had to be him. Since achieving success, Holton’s mission is to affect the lives of over 100 million people, spiritually, financially, and personally, and this podcast is one way of doing that. [00:02:17] Chiseling and Sculpting to Unearth a Millionaire Holton sees his journey through different careers and entrepreneurial pursuits, as a process of chiseling and sculpting. At his low moment, you saw a person in debt on the outside, but he knew there was a millionaire on the inside, waiting to rise to the surface. [00:03:41] Exposure Helps You to Expand Your Vision When you can’t imagine more than what you see in your current circumstances, your abilities are limited. Be willing to expose yourself to a different world by exploring what other people have managed to achieve, and let that help you develop your vision of what you want. It is your vision that gives you strength in tough circumstances. [00:08:04] Giving up Was Never an Option From early days, Holton’s goal was to make something out of himself and provide better opportunities for his family. As he went through several failure moments, he decided that he could change tack, he could change his enterprise, he could change his career, but he would not give up on his goal. [00:20:10] Keeping Emotions in Check Commitment to continuity produces emotional stability; you have to be committed to being continuous in your pursuit. Just because you don’t enjoy doing something, doesn’t mean that it’s the wrong thing to do. When something feels burdensome, you may need to put in more effort instead of lapsing into negative self-talk. [30:30] You Don’t Get What You Want, You Get What You Picture Create a picture of what you desire, and that becomes your destination. Personal growth and what you feed your mind is the navigational system that will get you there. [00:43:21] Don’t Waste an Opportunity to Learn from Leaders When in the company of leaders or wealthy people that you admire, don’t be content with merely being present. Become their student by studying their techniques, asking questions, and paying attention to their stories. [00:47:41] WiiN Worldwide Earlene Buggs started WiiN to bring women together and show them that they can support each other to accomplish diverse goals. WiiN helps women deal with emotions and challenges that often prevent them from pursuing or accomplishing their dreams at home and work. Earlene also shares inspiration through a blog, EB’s Pink Notes. [00:51:58] OG Cares Holton started this charity to help disenfranchised youth all around the world. OG Cares invests time and money into young lives to help them understand that they can be successful and wealthy in business. [00:55:15] Destiny Conference A brainchild of Pastor Keion Henderson, with the support of Bishop TD Jakes and Holton Buggs, Destiny Conference is a business conference. It attracts people from different backgrounds, cultures, nationalities, and business mindsets because everybody wants to know how to achieve or work towards their destiny. [00:57:45] Holton’s Parting Shot Listen to this podcast many times and take notes. Don’t try to do everything at once because there is no shortcut to achieving big goals. Master the skills and mindsets one at a time. Holton Buggs Notable Quotables [00:08:50] Don’t marry the method, marry the mission. – Holton Buggs [00:29:54] Fear should not paralyze you. Fear should move you and motivate you, if you repurpose it, re-categorize it and understand how to use it as energy. – Holton Buggs [00:39:41] People only hate up, nobody hates down. – Holton Buggs [00:52:33] Stop feeling guilty about putting yourself first sometimes. – Holton Buggs [00:59:06] I did not take the elevator to success, I took the stairs. – Holton Buggs LINKS Holton Buggs OG Cares WiiN Worldwide Destiny Conference The post Holton Buggs – The Mindset of a $1.3 Million A Month MLM Earner appeared first on Success Sculpting Show.

Fred Hammond - Success and Reinventing Yourself
Today’s episode will be like music to your ears. We have Fred Hammond a gifted vocalist, songwriter, musician, producer, and arranger. He has sold over 8 million albums and is a mainstay on Billboards Gospel Chart top 10. His previous release, Pages of Life Chapters I & II, exceeded Double Platinum status and held number one position on the Billboard Gospel Chart for over 15 weeks. He is CEO of Face to Face productions and has served as a producer on more than 100 album projects, racking up numerous awards and nominations including Grammy, BET, NAACP, Image, Stellar, Dove, and GMWA Excellence Awards. Fred took his creative savvy a notch higher with the movie The Gospel and co-wrote and directed the smash hit musical drama Been There Done That. Today, we talk about success and reinventing yourself. [00:05:46] Fred Gets Personal About How He Almost Didn’t Get Born From an early age, Fred felt a divine connection and eventually received a calling to bring a message of love to people who feel unwanted and unimportant. [00:12:02] Nobody Can Abort What the Most High Is Giving Birth to Sometimes people get discouraged and abort their dreams because they feel inadequate or inferior. If the people around you suck positive energy out of you, get away from them and find the people that will help you. You also need to beware that often when you are close to achieving your goal, the enemy will put up a big struggle to stop you. [00:18:46] Work on Your Self-Belief Self-doubt can hold you back, like the 10 spies in Numbers 13 who thought the Israelites were as insignificant as grasshoppers. Press forward and choose to keep your mind focused on the possibilities. If one method doesn’t work, try something else but don’t be quick to give up. [00:22:32] Be Prepared for Rejection and Don’t Take It Personally In searching for credit to buy a tour bus, Fred heard the word “no” 200 times. With each “no” he took the feedback as an opportunity to improve on his proposal and be better prepared the next time. When people say no, it’s not about them not liking you, it’s about you not being prepared. Humble yourself and keep working hard. [00:32:00] Remain Committed and Consistent Even When You Don’t Feel like It Make up your mind that you have a purpose to achieve. Let your purpose drive you in identifying your vision and a plan for how to get there. This might mean walking by faith when you are filled with fear. The song I Will Trust was birthed during a time when Fred was afraid, and The Most High seemed to be silent. [00:47:27] Perseverance and Tenacity When you are clear about your vision, you don’t need people’s approval to move forward. Sometimes they are just uncomfortable with the fact that you are evolving; don’t let another person’s drama bring you down. When Fred was working on a love-song album, it made some people in his circle uncomfortable, but he did it anyway and received 10,000 likes on iTunes. [00:53:35] The Genesis of the Song No Weapon As he was listening to a pastor deliver a message of hope and promise to someone, with the organ playing in the background, Fred was inspired to compose No Weapon. It happened so spontaneously that he believes it was divinely written. [00:58:37] What Fred Is Currently Working on Fred is working on new episodes of That’s My Reality. He is also working on two films, a play, Festival of Praise 2018, and the Fred Hammond app. He plans to release a new track every month in 2018 on Spotify and other digital platforms. [01:02:23] Finding Success, Reinventing Yourself and Being Persistent Know your purpose. Believe that you’re here on earth for a purpose and not just to exist, no matter where you are right now. Identify your purpose, educate yourself on how to achieve it and figure out your platform of how to get it done. Dr. Troy Nash - Investing in Yourself to Succeed
Today’s guest is unlike no other and we’re glad to have him on the show. Dr. Troy Nash came up the hard way. He rose from a poor inner-city street kid living in public housing on welfare with no father in the home, to becoming a two-term city councilman in Missouri, traveling to nearly 40 countries around the world promoting humanitarian, educational, and cultural exchanges, earning six advanced degrees including a doctorate in education, an MBA, and a law degree, to becoming the first African American executive named partner/shareholder in a top commercial real estate firm in the history of the State of Missouri. In this interview, you’ll learn the inspiring story on how education helped him to become who he is today despite his background, how he started changing his community starting with his three older brothers, and how to break free from your where you are now to a life of success despite the various barriers that may come your way. Quotes from the interview “The reality is, it (change) starts with you. You simply have to make up your mind, throw your arms out and say I had enough and take one little action and to understand life is not a straight line.” – Dr. Troy Nash “It all starts with you. You have to put good stuff in your head in order to get good stuff out in life. There’s no other way” – Dr. Troy Nash “You have to find that thing that is the essence of who you are; your passion.” – Dr. Troy Nash Key Ideas from Dr. Troy Nash [02:10] How important it is for people to invest in themselves to succeed It’s the only way you can to succeed. Everything starts with YOU. Troy started to change when he got tired of ‘everything’. [03:31] What did he do differently that allowed him to become what he is today despite his background He challenged the conventional wisdom and he got tired of the stigma where an African American is associated with criminality. The US Airforce was his way out and being in the military taught him education. After being back from service, he along with his 3 older brothers converted his little ‘ghetto house’ into a school by helping his brothers with their GED scores. He enrolled his 3 older brothers to college for the very first time and recruited hundreds of people from his community. [13:12] How to reprogram the mind to get in the direction you want You must put in the conscious, deliberate effort to improve yourself. Part of improving yourself is surrounding yourself with people who have dreams, hopes, and ambitions. Sometimes, you’re gonna find yourself alone and if you can deal with it, then you’re on your way to success. [16:00] How to focus in world that is socially distracting “You have to write your own story”. He was given an opportunity and grabbed it! Anybody can do it, but the reality is there are barriers to it like racism, jealousy hate, envy, etc. that you must deal with on your road to success. [18:42] How to overcome the fear of overcoming barriers that scares them like disapproval, biases, racism, etc. According to Dr. Troy, it’s about manipulating your subconscious mind. He did it by changing the environment he’s in. He listened to inspirational things, surrounded himself with positive people. [22:08] How to break free from ‘addiction’ so they can start manipulating your subconscious mind while ‘gravity’ is pulling them from the negative Based on his limited experience, what worked for him is about thinking differently and changing his habits. Drenching yourself to change is necessary. He shared a story and the gist of it is about taking small steps and being consistent with it until it becomes a habit. Whenever the temptation kicks in, focus your mind on the negative or the pain that it will cause you. [28:20] How to persevere in times of trouble when pain is the negative pain (like divorce, or betrayal which he went through) When he was going through a divorce or other troubles he’d been through, seeking knowledge became his coping mechanism. He turned to reading books and it allowed him to escape in a world that’s beyond his physical environment. As he got older, he adopted the philosophy of “this too shall pass”. When things happened to him now, he enjoys it because it gives him an opportunity to challenge himself. [34:57] How to become more honest with ourselves You have to find your passion and not worry about what others will say. [37:40] Dr. Troy’s daily ritual to keep him on track The key here is consistency. He shared his daily routine where he starts his day with positive stuff by sharing positive messages on social media (He thought of sharing positive messages on social media for a year and it blew up and compiled it into a book and other opportunities). After that, he goes through the normal routine of an entrepreneur and a real estate business executive; and when he gets home, that’s when he does his passion projects. [42:02] Book that he’s reading right now He now he listens to audiobooks like The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho and Think and Grow Rich: A Black Choice: Dennis Kimbro. Bob Burg - The Go-Giver Success Strategy
Bob Burg The Go-Giver Today’s guest will teach us how to look at life, at business, and how to get ahead in life. Bob Burg is an in-demand speaker, a best-selling author who’s sold over a million books, a defender of the free enterprise system, and an animal fanatic. He co-authored the amazing book The Go-Giver which has received numerous accolades and is our point of discussion today. In today’s show, Bob Burg will blow your mind with a perspective that may change how you look at business and how you look at getting ahead. Bob is an author and a sought-after speaker. He co-authored The Go-Giver with John David Mann. Today, he speaks to us about the five laws of The Go-Giver: A Little Story About a Powerful Business Idea. The Go-Giver is among the 2017 Living Now Book Award Winners and has received acclaim from the Wall Street Journal, Business Week, and Inc. Tweetable Highlights: Money is simply an echo of value. The money you receive is a natural and direct result of the value you provide. – Bob Burg When you create value, you become an influencer and pull people towards you. – Bob Burg It is wise to learn from others, but don’t try to be someone you’re not. – Bob Burg To ask the question, “Will this make money?” is not a bad question but it is a bad first question. – Bob Burg [00:03:40] The Law of Value Your true worth is determined by how much more you give in value than you take in payment. Based on the principle of giving, you should seek to constantly and consistently provide value to others. Business is not a matter of how many sales you can get; it’s how much value you can give. People don’t buy from you because you need the money or because you have targets to meet; they buy because they believe they’ll be better off by doing so. [00:12:58] The Law of Compensation Your income is determined by how many people you serve and how well you serve them. Whereas the law of value talks about creating an amazing experience of value in exchange for money, law number two says the more people’s lives you touch with that exceptional value, the more money with which you will be rewarded. [00:14:06] The Law of Influence Your influence is determined by how abundantly you place other people’s interests first. In the world of the internet, there is a massive amount of competition, and the way to succeed is by getting people to know, like and trust you and your product. [00:15:03] The Law of Authenticity The most valuable gift you have to offer is yourself. When you are yourself, people are far more likely to want to do business with you and refer you to others. Your market value is the combination of strengths, traits, talents, and characteristics that allow you to bring value in such a way that you will be financially rewarded for it. When you are confident about your value, you become confident about being yourself. You can work with a coach or a mentor to help you recognize your qualities and strengths. [00:17:48] The Law of Receptivity The key to effective giving is to stay open to receiving. Think about it as you would the process of breathing in and out. To stay alive, you must do both; it is not one or the other. We breathe out by giving and breathe in by receiving. Giving and receiving are not opposite concepts; they’re merely two sides of the same coin. Sometimes at an unconscious level, we associate receiving money with taking advantage of others, but that should not be the case. You give value and receive money. [00:34:34] Parting Shot Bob shares a lesson he learned from a mentor. If you want to make a lot of money, don’t have “making money” as your target. Your target is serving others, and when you hit that target, you’ll get a reward in the form of money. (Photo by Pouya Dianat/Pouya Creative/Atlanta Braves) *** Local Caption *** Bo Porter On Getting Ejected From Games (2:10-5:10) Porter explains how getting ejected from a game relates to getting rejected in life from something you’re passionate about. He explains that passion is his greatest strength and his greatest weakness. He says you have to understand the situation. In this instance, as an MLB manager, a sort of father figure or protector of the 25 men on the team that he has been charged to lead, you have to stand up for your players. You have to make them feel protected. Which means sometimes taking a bullet to show the team and the league that you have to stand up for what’s right. (5:10-9:25) One of the most important aspects of being a leader is you have to connect with the people you are charged to lead. There will come a time when you have to engage and the engagement can become confrontational but if you take the time to connect, a relationship can form. Having emotional sensitivity, especially in business, can help you get your point across without creating conflict. No matter the setting, at the end of the day, it’s about relationships and interactions with people. Expanding Your Comfort Zones (9:25-12:35) Expanding outside of our comfort zone is where growth really happens. Understanding your job as a leader is paramount. Being a great leader is making sure everyone you’ve been charged with reaches their potential. You have to look at skillsets, ability to deal with success and failure and come up with how to collectively best motivate your team. Leadership is not about the title it’s about the actions you take to help people reach their full potential. (12:35-19:15) As a leader, you have to show your team that you care more about them than you do about yourself. By being a leader you have to set a certain standard. Derek Jeter’s career leadership over the Yankees is used as an example. Enthusiasm and taking care of yourself are ways of showing that you can take care of others. Leadership Lessons From Bo Porter’s Book (19:15-20:22) Bo’s book, Real Life Empowered focuses on nine core values of personal leadership development which include education, manners, physical activity, open-mindedness, well-balanced nutrition, expression of positive attitudes, relationships, enrichment of spirit and dedication. (20:22-24:00) Lead by example – actions speak louder than words. Lead with honesty – false confidence is worse than low confidence. (24:00-29:20) And every team member needs to give 100%, including the leader. Your job as the leader is to build the people so the people can build the coaches. Having the right team makes the difference. The team embodies the coach and the winning attitude of the coach so much that the coach doesn’t have to direct the players, they can check each other. (29:20-34:00) Visual aids are important. Showing your team the positive and negative scenarios can help your team grow. Knowing what not to do is just as important as knowing the right thing to do. (34:00-38:25) There are two types of people; the people who try their hardest every day no matter what and the people who don’t try as hard after they’ve reached their goals. It is paramount to show up every day with the notion that you will be the best and do the best you can do. Application is the true definition of knowing. (38:25-48:10) Never make exceptions during preparations that matter to your ultimate outcome. That exception could come up down the road and affect your eventual goal. Be forward with your team members, cover all bases, give them options. Exercise compassion while serving discipline. Send a message to the whole team while disciplining. Make teachable moments. (48:10-53:00) As a leader, you can try your hardest but sometimes you can’t please everyone. A message is only as good as the receiver. Both sides need to be heard in order for a message to come across. Leaders try to help you transform into your better self. Again, it is uncomfortable to be comfortable. We can’t lessen our ability to deliver based on an audience that doesn’t want to receive. (53:00-56:10) Sports is an institution of higher learning. The reason people are successful is that they’ve learned how to overcome failure. Essentially you have to fall down to get back up. Key’s to Bo Porter’s Success I developed fortitude. I was willing to adapt. I use my imagination to dream big. I learned from everyone with whom I shared space. Enthusiasm was a choice I made daily. I realize discipline in all areas of life is a common denominator to real excellence. (56:10-59:00) You can do everything right in a game and still lose. Perseverance is one of the most important aspects of sports (and life). Some of the characteristics you build from playing sports you can’t find in a classroom. The mental toughness, perseverance, resilience, etc. The best teams are built of the people who are willing to give of themselves for the benefit of the team.
