In Spring 2021, Pearse Nelson, a student enrolled in the class that produces the Stuff OSU Should Know podcast interviewed the teacher of the class, Dr. Seth Wood, about the history and potential future of his unusual course idea. Pearse conducted the interview to fulfill course requirements, and it turned into a long conversation about trends in higher education, the experience of students attending college, and how the Covid-19 pandemic had effected the relationship between the two. In this episode the SOSK crew interviews students from Professor Ross's Honors Comp service-learning class, who have been working to bring some much needed attention to a new resource on OSU's campus, Pete's Pantry, "a student run initiative that advocates for reducing the amount of food insecurity across our campus and meeting the basic needs of the campus community." Is there a parking problem on campus at Oklahoma State? Okay, yeah. But what's the problem? Whose problem is that? and what can we do about it?These questions lead the team at Stuff OSU Should Know on a research mission to find out more about the apparent imbalance between parking permits sold and parking spots available at OSU.
