What is Stuff OSU Should Know? - Pearse Nelson Interviews Dr. Wood
In Spring 2021, Pearse Nelson, a student enrolled in the class that produces the Stuff OSU Should Know podcast interviewed the teacher of the class, Dr. Seth Wood, about the history and potential future of his unusual course idea. Pearse conducted the interview to fulfill course requirements, and it turned into a long conversation about trends in higher education, the experience of students attending college, and how the Covid-19 pandemic had effected the relationship between the two. This is an excerpt from the beginning of that conversation that describes the teaching philosophy behind the course idea and explains how the unorthodox plan of the class relates to the "add-on" curriculum of the Honors College at OSU.
