Learning to Trust Yourself
You have all the answers you need within you! In this episode I share a story of how I reached out to a mentor for feedback, and found myself in a familar place. One where I would let someone else's thoughts or beliefs hold me back. Now this mentor did something different, and so did I. This mentor encouraged me to ask myself how I felt about what I was asking. I realized I was looking for validation, for permission to do something that I already knew I wanted to try. I started looking back at different times in my life where I was seeking permission and when I didn't get it right away I backed out. I listened to the other person rather than myself. I'm empowering you to realize that if there's something you want to do or try don't let someone else's thoughts or opinions stop you! Or get yourself a coach or mentor who will ask you what you want to do!!!

Make money on your terms
In 2018 I quit my full-time job because I wanted to live my life on my terms. I didn't want to be tied to a desk, I wanted to have freedom of time to pick my kids up from school without needing or requiring after school care. I wanted to take them to the park in the summer in the middle of the day on a Wednesday simple because I wanted to. It wasn't just about creating my own business, but finding a way to live my life on my terms. To find a work/life balance that fulfilled my needs as a working mom. I did just that by constantly following my heart, listening to my intuition and taking calculated risks. You can do that too!!! I can't tell you what you want for your work/life balance, but I can tell you that whatever you want is possible!

Changing Your Beliefs
What we believe to be true isn't always truth....actually most of the time it's a story that we've created in our head and repeated over and over again until we believed that it was truth. If you want to make changes in your life you must find these beliefs and show yourself that they aren't true and create more empowering beliefs. I have had to do this time and time again as I pivoted from working full-time, to full-time entrepreneur to part-time employee and part-time entrepreneur. I've recently made a change in my beliefs around food and exercise and I finally started eating better and losing weight that I've been carrying around for 5 years.

Scarlet letter of Coronavirus
There is a ripple effect to the Coronavirus. It doesn't just affect us individually, or our family unit it affected everyone around me. The worry, the fear the doubt. Yet not one medical professional told me to ensure I was taking care of my mental health. Thankfully I have a bunch of tools in my tool box already that I leaned on heavily last week. Last week my son and I were tested (both negative), but the emotional toll it took on me was exhausting. Having to deal with taking my 5 year to get tested, then telling work I wouldn't be coming in, having my son home all week while I took Zoom meeting after Zoom meeting. If you find yourself in a space where your mental and emotional health is at risk, I highly recommend you do these 3 things to ensure you are taking care of you: 1. Journal all your feelings and emotions2. Find quiet time - meditate!!! 3. Change your surroundings - go for a long week or get away for a day or 2
