Why Do You Need An Integrator? Episode 143
Most people listening to this show are visionaries. You need an integrator to maximize the potential in your company. So what is an integrator? Strong integrators create profit for companies. What You'll Learn Visionaries can see where we should go. Integrators know how to perform the steps to get there.  A big role of the integrator is to stop the chaos. Visionaries are idea people. They can do marketing and selling, but they aren't great at fulfillment.  The integrator brings a vision to life and keeps a visionary focused. The visionary creates harmony, organization, and keeps teams on course. In order to be a good pair, the visionary and the integrator will have different personality profiles. They are yin and yang.  Businesses don't do as well as they could do if they don't have a proper integrator.  Do it, document, delegate. This is the formula to grow and scale. Ask yourself these questions: Are you financially ready to afford an integrator?  Are you mentally prepped to let go of control? Is your lifestyle ready? Are you ready to stay in your lane and not overstep boundaries? The best way to keep visionaries and integrators on task is to have an off-site same-page meeting to make sure everyone is going in the same direction. You must communicate. To find an integrator, you must first establish the role and get clear on what you want them to do. You can perform a time study to start this process. Get rid of the things you don't like to do to and give them to the integrator. You have to dial in systems and processes in order to grow. Question of the Day: At what point do you determine your success as a parent? Are they independent? Is it being able to function as an adult? How is that success defined? Marc Zalmanoff on Fitness & Greatness - Episode 142
Marc Zalmanoff, of Marc Z Fitness & Nutrition (a.k.a. "that asshole"), started and continues his venture because he cares about bringing effective, safe, and FUN fitness solutions to busy, time-poor professionals just like you. He understands your struggles and trials because he has undergone the same in his own fitness journey. What You'll Learn: "If you'll just start, everything else will take care of itself." ~Marc Too many times, we just don't start!  "The answer to almost every issue is to get up and do something about it." ~Tomas Almost every problem you face, from business to health, can be fixed by simply doing something about it. Small steps forward daily! 👊 Continuing to get clearer on your purpose in this world makes you better and stronger in your field. You'll feel more aligned in your work.  Is there work at work? Of course! But you can craft an existence with a high level of joy if you are intentional with each day.  Your identity will show itself through self-development. The more you develop yourself, the more you find yourself. Everything intertwines together.  When you build your day with intentionality, you can stop living a reactionary life. instead, you can grow.  Opportunities with the right people appear when you're properly aligned.  Confidence leads to sales. Anything you ever pursue in life, pursue it with confidence in knowing you're doing the right thing. You have no control over if people like you or not. There are people for everyone. Even assholes have people who like them. When you get to a point of accepting who you are, you can just be. Most people never get here.  When you do hard things, you are reminded of your humanity. You're reminded of how good you have it.  How are you showing up in this world? Only you can decide!  Your inner 5-year-old is holding you back. Stop it. Something is dictating what you do -- so let a routine set you free. Discipline makes life better.  What boxes do you need to check off to lay down at night to know you lived a good day. Cut the bullshit. Don't let other people dictate the way you think and feel. Go do what you want to do. Live the way you want to live. Tomas "speaks champion" over his kids. He asks them, "Are you being a champion right now?" This comes from his family's core value: Be A Champion Do not push people away who are trying to level up and belong. They look up to you and want to be like you. The more you level up, the more of an authority you become. Don't forget it. Don't disrespect it. Question of the Day: At what point do you determine your success as a parent? Are they independent? Is it being able to function as an adult? How is that success defined? Jessie Lee Is THE Boss Lady - Episode 141
Jessie Lee is a heart-driven, culture-driven, women-focused, influencer-building multiple 7-figure annual earners, as verified by Network Marketing Pros’ Hall of Fame. She is currently the number one female network marketer in the world. She got her start in direct sales 10 years ago when she needed $300 extra a month to pay rent. In 2015, Jessie Lee found network marketing through Facebook and made the move to better her future and build a lasting legacy with residual income. What You'll Learn Jessie Lee knows how to convert network marketing sales. She teaches social media and brand strategy. Doing it the right way and not being scammy has brought her success. If you don't have standards in your business, you don't have a business. Educating yourself in business will be your secret weapon. Health and stress play a factor in everything you do. You have to block time off for you. Block it off in your calendar and you won't feel guilty about turning off. If you can't say no, it's because you're worried too much about what others think. Stop saying yes to everything. Start saying yes to what you want to yes to instead of what social media says you should say yes to. Car collections are cool, and Jessie Lee is the coolest. It's perfectly fine to treat yourself. Be the kind of person they make into a statue. They don't make statues for quitters.  Network marketing was Jessie's cash flow for her other businesses.  Building a business out of anger to" prove them wrong" isn't always bad. It brings a different level of fuel. Haters are good.  The comments you get online do not exist in real life. Stop worrying so much about it. In real life, people will be nice to your face. Jessie grew her following on social media by showing her personality.  Stop overthinking content. Jump in and create, or you're missing out on leads. She leaves a ton of tips in this episode! When you bring on your first new hire, having some cash built up before your first new hire will make it less scary.  Working in a niche is always a good idea. Tim works in non-profits but specializes in the upper 3.5% because they have economies of scale. Don't feel the need to constantly change your core business model. Stay in your lane and build it stronger. Client onboarding is so important. It helps everyone know what to expect and what the deliverables will be. Earning Trust with Daniel Blue - Episode 139
"It's always better when you come from a place where you can talk about the scar instead of the wound." ~Daniel Blue Never having owned a business before, and then facing heavy litigation, Daniel knows how to adapt and overcome really big mistakes. He credits his success to the crew he runs with. He was close to quitting, but he stuck it out and learned how to win by practicing gratitude even through hard times. He has a championship mindset. What You'll Learn: ✅ Surviving litigation is difficult and expensive, but sometimes we have to face these hurdles. We have to learn how to overcome them.  ✅ Sometimes you outgrow people, and that's okay!  ✅ Be super real with your team. That is the only way to lead.  ✅ A part of growth is realizing you're not always the one who has the best idea. The job of the leader is to gather the ideas and choose the best one, not to always come up with the best idea.  ✅ Keeping it real with those who report to you and those you report to, is truly pivotal to teamwork.  ✅ Find your key players and see if they have your back by going through battles together.  ✅ If you want people to trust you, you have to confide in them and let them see why you are making certain decisions. It creates team buy-in.  ✅ Talking about your scars will impact more people than talking about how you're wounded.  Connect With Daniel   www.danielblue.me Instagram: instagram.com/danielblue__ Facebook: facebook.com/profile.php?id=100026753792739 Buy My Book Unf**ck Your Business: https://amzn.to/3Oddfdd Work With Me Tomas Keenan: tomaskeenan.com

Alex Cantaboni — Starting a Business In Shaky Times - Ep 137
How do you determine whether moving forward with your business idea during shaky economic times is wise? And what can you do to ensure that this new business is set up for success?   When Alex Cantaboni started his pest control business in 2009, he heard from his share of naysayers on the heels of the recession. Not only was the timing called into questioning, but Alex was also entering an exceedingly competitive market. In Texas, there are hundreds of these companies, all warding off Texas-sized pests. But a few things set Alex’s operation apart and, 12 years and 32 employees later, have made it into the success it is today.    On this episode of the Step It Up Entrepreneur podcast, Tomas and Alex talk about his journey from working 90-hour weeks for others to owning his company, how he’s transforming the way fumigation as a career path is seen (“I want it to be a respectable industry”), and the impact core values have had on his turnover rate.   What You’ll Learn:   Why never offering discount services has been one of Alex’s keys to success The hiring trick that’s saved him “hundreds and hundreds of hours” Why he does a quarterly review of his customers — and ultimately chooses to “fire” some And much more! Favorite Quote:   “Firing customers is one of the most liberating things you can do… when you get rid of a**hole customers, the morale of your team increases, and you can take that effort and energy and put it into the right people.”     Alex Cantaboni Connect with Alex: LinkedIn Facebook   How To Get Involved: From his start in the GPS tracking industry to founding the Step It Up Academy, Tomas Keenan is on a mission to break out of the concept of “average” and reach the success that is anything but. John Highly Is A Soul Savage - EP 136
John Highly didn't predict any of this happening, but he's at the point in his life where he doesn't doubt the possibilities. He has been following his intuition, and it has led him to massive success. I'm excited to have him back on the show this week! He has grown so much since we last spoke in 2020.  What You'll Learn  You need to let go and let a higher power move you in the right direction. You don't know everything, so stop pretending like you do and go where it's meant to be. Give it to God. Fear cannot exist where gratitude lives. It is hard at first to retrain your brain to be more thankful, but if you can perfect this, you will live a happier life.  When you transform, you become stronger. Anytime John has transformed himself, physically or mentally, he has gained strength by changing himself into something different. There are mourning periods involved with any transformation, so be prepared for that.  If you front-load your day you will set yourself up for success.  Go deep and get dark, even in the gym. Address your dark side and dig deep to push yourself the extra mile or you'll get the same mediocre results. This is how you grow. You have to love yourself before you can love anyone else and anyone else can love you. It doesn't come from the outside-in. Become selfish for you and "shit will get good". Sometimes that looks like a shift in your schedule to prioritize yourself. If you are not on the journey of self-actualization, you will be mad at other people all the time because you're living like a miserable person. It's Hell on Earth. You have a choice to change. Long-suffering is ignoring all the signs about what you should be doing and you stay in pain.  Extreme accountability is the way to go. Stop the excuses.  Connect With John Instagram: instagram.com/john_highley Work with John: marketingsavage.com Buy My Book Unf**ck Your Business: https://amzn.to/3Oddfdd Work With Me Tomas Keenan: tomaskeenan.com

EP 130- Tomas Keenan, Investing In Me: The First Step to Living in Alignment
If you were to look back into your past, you would find a place where you have spoken things out loud that came to fruition.  Things you’re currently doing today.  People you currently have in your life.  Opportunities that came from a simple thought, backed by hard work, consistency, and endless dedication to succeed.   Tom recorded this episode back in September of 2020 while he was still working in the GPS tracking space.  Back then, he was living in New York.  Back then, he was trying to figure out a way to improve upon what I was already doing.  It was isolating at times, and there were many moments he just wanted to shut it all down and start over again.  He had created something that owned me.  The pressure.  Stress.  A Business that required his focus and attention.  Thoughts of being trapped in something that no longer served him.  One realization came to him that propelled him to invest in a coach and later a mastermind that would go on to change his life dramatically.    It all started with Tom deciding to go all-in on himself and invest in the one person he needed to trust and count on the whole time……..himself.  Favorite Quote: “For the first time in my life, I was putting myself first above my business. That sounds fucked up, but I am a firm believer that you need to take care of yourself before anybody else. It’s like being on an airplane.  If shit hits the fan and the mask pops out, you need to put your mask on first before you put your kids’ mask on first. Once you have your mask on and have good oxygen flowing, you’ll be able to help everyone else.” -Tomas Keenan     How to Get Involved  From his start in the GPS tracking industry to founding the Step It Up Academy, Tomas Keenan is on a mission to break out of the concept of “average” and reach the success that is anything but. Taylor shares a little about her podcast soon to be released in the coming weeks. She’s not even 30 and has managed to rip a hole in everything conventional from parenting, being married, being a business owner, and finding ones true path to becoming an elite leader in order to change more lives.    What You’ll Learn:  What it’s like being an entrepreneur being married to an entrepreneur  How Taylor and her husband Chris had to figure out how to work and live as married people The discovery of the perfect dynamic in being the integrator to her husband’s visionary role and how it affected their relationship The hard pill Taylor had to swallow as they were growing the business How Taylor was able to find fulfillment in her role daily which led to her leaving her position The challenges associated with ego that prevent many businesses from growing  Why replacing yourself is one of the most important things you can do to remove bottlenecks in your company  Taylor shares the importance of connecting the dots for fellow entrepreneurs by creating networks and pouring in her knowledge with the collective Tom shares some of his journey and how he discovered his passion through a series of blind decisions  Taylor talks about being abandoned as a child and how it fueled and almost crippled her until she had a huge revelation Why Taylor became a loan officer in addition to their home building team and real estate team  How many homes and how much volume Taylor’s office did in 2021  Why Systems, processes, and building a solid foundation is so important  Some stories of people they’ve helped in the recent years and the impact they’ve had in their lives Tom talks about why it’s important to do things above and beyond for the people you employ and how it makes a huge difference personally and professionally  Taylor’s fourthcoming podcast and what it’s about   And much more! Favorite Quote: “When I decided to start transitioning out of my position that was really hard because I had attached so much of my identity and my value to my team and to the company I had built based on that position. So when I brought someone else in, I thought, “Damn, they don’t need me anymore.” And again, that ego came back up and then I started thinking, this is an amazing opportunity and I could think about what do I want to do next?” Taylor Feamster  Connect with  Taylor:   Facebook Instagram How To Get Involved: From his start in the GPS tracking industry to founding the Step It Up Academy, Tomas Keenan is on a mission to break out of the concept of “average” and reach the success that is anything but. EP 126- Jenn Keenan, Founder and CEO of Youthful Flow: The Family That Flows Grows
Family is everything.  For some people, it’s the only thing. It’s the reason we do what we do to support them, the way we parent our children, and the reason we treat our spouses the way we do.  Marriage is a collective effort, but 50% of the population hasn’t figured out the most important part…  It’s not the cars, the houses, and all the fancy shit that goes with working hard.  It’s friendship.  Companionship. Support.  Faithful attention and genuine concern for one another.  Jenn Keenan is the Founder and CEO of Youthful Flow working weekly to keep people in the best mental, physical, and spiritual shape possible through Yoga.  Jenn happens to be married to Tomas Keenan, and today, they share a very special episode with you riddled with laughter, and in a couple of spots, some tears. Tom wastes no time diving in to discuss how he and Jenn met and in true married people fashion, they each have their own version of the story.  Jenn talks about how she met Tom at a bar after being ditched by a girlfriend that night who left her to fend for herself.  Tom remembers his first introduction to Jenn as very brief before he took off to the dance floor to continue popping bottle tops off countless Corona bottles.  Jenn shares how Tom managed to at least get her telephone number before leaving.  Tom and Jenn talk about their 3 children, family dynamics, balancing work, making time for one another, and Tom’s biological clock.  Jenn shares her inspiration for raising children after a 10-year long career as a counselor in education, and the ultimate decision around moving her family halfway across the country from New York to Texas.   What You’ll Learn:    Tom and Jenn’s first date and what they drank  How close Tom and Jenn’s moms lived from each other in New York Why certain discussions are important to have throughout a marriage How many times they’ve fought over the years Where Jenn worked out of college and why her work was so important to her raising children The one thing that prompted Tom and Jenn to pick up their family and move across the country A medical crisis that affected their son When Tom realized he actually had a business  The first thing Jenn did when she landed in Texas and set up her household One childhood wish Jenn shares  Some very important family news you have to listen to this episode to hear! And much more! Favorite Quote: “So I was like, “I’m gonna go try out this studio.” And everybody I spoke to in the studio was like, you just moved here and you’re signing up for this class?  Are you okay? I needed the community and something to focus on, and I need something for me because it was a big transition for me after picking up and moving my family across country.  You already had people to fall back on, and it was the best thing for me."  Jenn Keenan   Connect with  Jenn:  Facebook Youthful Flow  How To Get Involved: From his start in the GPS tracking industry to founding the Step It Up Academy, Tomas Keenan is on a mission to break out of the concept of “average” and reach the success that is anything but, and he wants you to join him. EP 125- Josh Meunier- Sales Manager/Coach with WinRate Consulting, Founder of Free Space Studio: Winning Life Through Design
Being an entrepreneur can sometimes be equated to a cat chasing it’s tail while shitting up the side of the wall of the kitty litter box with no end in sight.  It seems a bit graphic, but if you’ve ever experienced that level of chaos in your life, you’re probably living an entrepreneur’s most loved and feared life.  There are things that have to be done, no matter what. Today, you get to meet an entrepreneur who made his way out of the catbox and into a life by design.  Josh Meunier is a serial entrepreneur, Sales Manager, and Coach with WinRate Consulting working one on one with sales teams and business owners to find the path of least resistance in business.  He is the founder of Free Space Studio, a design firm that works with architects to create indoor and outdoor spaces for homeowners and business owners to enjoy year around. Today, Tom and Josh jump right in and discuss a very vulnerable moment Josh had while he was at the gym unable to keep from physically hurling from overworking himself during a fitness routine.  Josh shares how this has helped to keep his mind and body in alignment and equip him with the Level 10 clarity most business owners have to have to survive in today’s economy.  It’s the way he’s dealt with the stresses and pressures of entrepreneurship.  Josh and Tom talk quite a bit about the early days of starting a business, generating sales, and then finally systematizing it to keep up with demand and manage fulfillment.  Josh talks about how his work began years before when he went to Halcyon bar in Dallas to make drawings he’d later convert to 3-D.  A chance meeting allowed him to get in front of many builders and architects that would help transform the course of his life into a thriving business.  You’ll learn that Josh is a consultant who works with many business owners to streamline processes to make their businesses more efficient while creating more time for them to work on the things they truly love.    What You’ll Learn:    The power of systemization and how it can change your business What Josh was doing with a notepad at Halcyon bar every Friday night in Dallas  How Josh used 3-D to create the answer to a much-needed call Why it’s important to not be afraid of learning the process The moment Josh realized he lost his passion for what he was doing and the next move he made once he realized this The importance of having high standards Employee Training is the key to helping you free up your time and never answer the same question twice, ever again Unlocking employee retention through continuous training   How producing SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) will keep you from having to train every single person in your company  Why Josh pushes himself so hard in the gym And much more! Favorite Quote: “Sometimes you’re going to have people that have never even heard of you. They’re so early on in the process that they don’t understand the true value that’s going to come through. Through that social media be that Youtube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or whatever you put out there, that’s where they’re starting to realize like, this guy’s a human being. Their whole team is sharing messages and the value that you’re getting out of this is what’s making you want to join this network.”      Josh Meunier   Connect with Josh: Free Space Studio Josh Meunier    How To Get Involved: From his start in the GPS tracking industry to founding the Step It Up Academy, Tomas Keenan is on a mission to break out of the concept of “average” and reach the success that is anything but.
