20.05.24 - Working on the Front Line
Working on the Front Line Romans 12.10, 13, 15-16 Have you seen some of the many signs people have created thanking the many "front line" workers during this pandemic? Some of them have been very creative and they are all heartfelt! We are all very thankful for the men and women on the "front line" of the fight against COVID19, and in particular the healthcare staff who are caring for the sick. If you think about it, though, we are ALL called to be on the "front line" of caring for those in need. That's what these next few verses in Romans 12 are all about: honouring, sharing, and being devoted to one another. This week we will hear not just from Pastor Sean, but also three of our sisters in Christ who are at work on the front line as nurses. Their sharing serves as a wonderful inspiration to all of us to be "front line workers" in God's Kingdom of love.

20.05.17 - The Gift of Uncertainty
The Gift of Uncertainty Philippians 1:3-6 As missionaries to Pakistan and now Kuala Lumpur, Matt and Andrea Vaughan know the uncertainty of living and working in a foreign country. The words of Psalm 57:9 ( I will praise you, Lord, among the nations; I will sing of you among the peoples) ring true in their interview this week by Pastor Sean. Join us Sunday morning on YouTube at 10 am for our worship service as Matt and Andrea explain how they found peace in the midst of uncertainty.

20.05.10 - When NOT to Wear a Mask
When NOT to Wear a Mask Romans 12:9 When Paul says in Romans 12.9 that "love must be sincere," he is saying that love not be feigned, or literally must not wear a mask. Though our focus this week isn't necessarily on mothers, a mother's love for her children is a wonderful illustration of the unconditional, unfeigned, mask-less love of God. More, it is a wonderful example of the love God calls us to show to others. What does that mean at a time when we are being encouraged to wear actual masks in our daily lives? Tune in to consider when NOT to wear a mask!

20.05.03 - How to Recognize an Essential Worker
How to Recognize an Essential Worker Romans 12.3-8 One interesting aspect of our current circumstances is everything I've been hearing about "essential workers". Who is essential and needs to keep working? And who isn't essential and should just stay home, or even be laid off. Before all of this happened, who would have placed grocery store workers or migrant farm labourers so high on the list of who is "essential"? Not many of us, I'm sure. While clarifying what businesses and workers are essential in the midst of this time is helpful and needed, the Bible gives us a necessary corrective. And what is that? That we are ALL essential workers! God has a particular place for YOU in His work. We all have a part to play.
