Another day, another video game to add to the Gameclub discussion for the end of year awards. This time around the Synics spend some time talking about Yakuza: Like a Dragon and the crazy things they enjoyed about this 2020 title by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio. Before that though Shannon waxes poetic about her love of Resident Evil, Garrett talks about a fun little indie gem called Noita, Tim spends some time with Valheim, and Berto is continuing to foster a love/hate relationship with Cybershadow. There's also some news spattered in there, and Garrett is not happy with the latest Nintendo Direct. It's that time of the year again, when a bunch of talking heads get together to talk about their best of the best in gaming for the prior year.  The Synical Awards are similar to other shows/podcasts that do that, but totally better with 1000% more awesome. We are joined once more by the insanely dope Cybershannonn and talk about the best of the best, the best of the worst and also the best of the comments. Who wins? Who loses and who gets a cookie? You gotta listen to see who takes home a coveted Golden Couch. (we also did this live with animations and stuff)

Lucasfilm Games gets revived and will now handle all the quality of games that are set in a galaxy far, far away. One third of the Synics are excited for what this means (you can guess who isn't) because they want to see the open world, story driven Star Wars game  that an result. There is also and Indiana Jones game in the works and a brief few words on when Mircrosoft wanted to buy Nintendo and got laughed out of meeting. Segment 3 is the long awaited Cyberpunk game club - there has been so much said and written about the game and how CD Projekt Red handled the release, but now we get the definitive answer on how the game was received. 

It's 2021 and the Synics are back at it doing what they do best, talking video games and hang out on the virtual couch because there is still a pandemic raging so we need to be responsible. You can expect the same brand of synicality (it's a word) that the trio brings as they talk about that Cyberpunk launch (talk about a mess) the long rumored KFC console, and some speed running controversy. It's a light episode but with the new year upon us, the Synics felt you might need a break from hearing them ramble. Enjoy and Happy New Year!

The boys are back in town, and by in town we mean at their respective homes while social distance recording a podcast because we're still in the middle of a pandemic. Tim is back from his turkey hiatus and talks about what he's been up to besides games and turkey eating. The Synics talk about longtime studio leaders leaving Bioware and what kinds of implications that has for future projects, Nintendo doing nintendo things (ughhh), Halo Infinite finally getting a release time frame in 2021, and the fact that Oscar Isaac is reportedly cast as Solid Snake. In section 3 the crew talks about Giantsquid's "The Pathless" and how they feel about the game. All this and much much more, like Lil Bow Wow talk

We are back with another packed episodes of video game goodness. We talk about Square Enix posting a loss, and a bunch of Mass Effect news that 1/3 of the Synics are excited for...damn it Garett and Tim. In our third segment we talk about Ghostrunner for the gameclub, and may have found the first game that the Synics unanimously agree is not one of their favs. All this and bunch of other Synical goodness is in store when you listen!

The Synics are back again talking about bad takes on Twitter by someone who has a history of them, The newest delay to Cyberpunk 2077, Halo: Infinite losing another key person, and a bunch of next gen unboxings. Also Berto gushes about his hype for Final Fantasy 16 while Tim and Garrett mock him. It's all the makings for another fun episode of the Split Screen Synics. 

A new every other week, a new episode where the Synics get together on the virtual couch to talk about what's going on in games. In this episode we discuss the Microsoft/ Gamestop partnership and how Reggie may or may not have something to do with it (he more than likely doesn't but the Synics whole thing is to talk about the Regginator),  they talk crunch at CD Project Red and a possible sequel to The Outer Worlds - not to be confused with The Outer Wilds. The GameClub game for this episode is the Roguelike Hades and the Synics get into it with what they enjoyed about the game and why Theseus is a conceited prick. This week the Synics get challenged by Tim's Game Club choice: The Silver Case.  Originally released only in Japan for PlayStation in 1999, the Silver Case has since been ported to Steam in the U.S. Find out what the Synics think about this blast from the past visual novel, alongside Epic vs. Apple battling it out, and the delayed release of Halo Infinite in the news.  What do you think of the Silver Case?

Grab some couch and a controller and play through some classic Super Mario Bros 3 with us!  Our second virtual couch episode has the Synics discussing all sorts of topics; The Nintendo Giga-leak, Spider man and Sony exclusivity, Microsoft shows off Halo Infinite footage, and Sony shows off even more next gen games.  Things get pretty tangential on top of gaming news with Tim and Garrett bickering over Dota 2 clans, Batman movies discussion, indie game marketing strategies, and of course, some solid Mario banter.

The Synics shuffle up their cards and chat all about indie rogue like deck builder; Slay the Spire.  Also in the news: the upcoming Xbox seres X showcase, a new Shin Megami Tensei game announced, Walmart employs Animal Crossing characters, and Reggie Fils-Aime makes another move.  All of this and some weird Donkey Kong 64 tangents in this weeks episode!

The Synics try something a little bit more improvised and off the cuff than usual.  Come sit on our actual virtual couch as we play through Mega Man 2 and attempt to record the podcast at the same time.  Tim and Garrett argue about E-tanks and Berto brings some actual discussion to the table about the possible sale of the Warner Bros games division as we get deeper into discussion about the Mega Man classic series.  Definitely look out for our virtual couch live streams going forward on our Twitch channel!

In the dumpster fire of the year that has been 2020, the Synics discuss how 2020 has been treating gaming so far and what their hopes are for the next 6 months. Also in the news; the Synics will be streaming live on June 13th to raise money for Color of Change in support of the ongoing Black Lives Matter protests across the world, the massive Itch.io charity bundle raising money for the same cause, the upcoming Playstation 5 reveal, Bobby Kotick being overpaid, and the physical release of the previously censored game 'Devotion' by Red Candle Games.
