How to Connect during a Pandemic
What's been coming up in my coaching and personal life is the topic of feeling disconnected in our relationships. The pandemic and quarantine has put a big ole magnifying glass on our most intimate relationships and partner’s personality traits (ehem, flaws). Whatever You're Not Changing, You Are Choosing
The last three weeks we’ve explored the technique I teach in my soul school program called name it, claim it, tame it to become more aware of your inner critic and how it sabotages you, then claiming ownership of that voice of your thoughts and beliefs and patterns and finally taming it by choosing a new path, a new way of speaking to yourself, a new belief, a new mantra that connects you back home to yourself and to your true self. whatever you're not changing, you are choosing . You are not a victim. Life doesn't happen to you. It happens for you Every relationship is a teacher. Every situation offers a lesson and opportunity to learn and grow. You have the power within you to choose how you want to feel each day and consciously choose to bring that feeling, thought or belief with your throughout the rest of your day. Let go of the rope and take ownership of your emotions to empower you
The Ego loves to point the finger, blame others, throw a pity-party and keep you stuck in victimhood and scarcity. You’re in a continual struggle of tug-of-war with others, with yourself and with Life when you align with the Ego and itty-bitty-shitty-committee. Today’s intention is to focus on step 2, which is claiming your responsibility of your thoughts and actions. Once you’re aware of your inner critic and emotions and have named them, now your work is to choose how you want to respond to them. Owning your beliefs, your reactions and how you show up for life will empower you, not hinder you. By letting go of the rope and releasing resentment and judgment of others, this sets you free to creative possibilities that awaits you. Awareness is the Shovel to Dig yourself Out of the Darkness to your Light
This week’s intention is to bring more awareness to your thoughts and belief patterns through a technique I teach in my soul school course often used in therapy called name it, tame it, claim it. By identifying your challenges, emotions or faults, then claiming ownership and taking responsibility for them, you can tame them by learning to live with, overcome or transform them. I believe you have a light within you but it gets covered up by life, by past events and conditioning. We continue to relive our past through our conditioned thoughts and beliefs. In today's episode, the intention is to break your habits and really create change by consciously digging yourself out from your imprisoned mind and habits. Awareness is your shovel. Know-It-All Nancy ruined my night
In this episode I share an embarrassing and raw story that just happened last night about my overbearing shadows and what I'm learning from them. I hope through my personal story, you can see you're not alone, we don't have to be perfect and you can use it for your own healing. Because of this, my eyes and heart can open to witness my limitations and because of them, I can experience healing, deeper growth We don't have to be perfect...Just be awake. Consciousness helps shift your perspective to evolve and expand despite your limitations. You have the power to alchemize self-limiting emotions like anger, control and guilt and turn them into higher energy states of compassion and empathy, kindness, inspiration, joy, love, and freedom. I’m not proud of myself, but I share this story to show you we’re all human. I’m far from perfect, but I’m committed to evolving. Gratitude over Goals - HELLO 2021!
My birthday was on Dec 31st and Jake and I cuddled on the couch, in my Costco fuzzy polka-dot PJ pants sipping on alcohol-free champagne. Like most of 2020, it wasn’t the New Years Eve or birthday celebration I would’ve have planned for myself, but it was still a great day. We ended the night by sharing 10 things that we're grateful for from 2020. HMPH! what’s there to be grateful for? 2020 was a rough year and took so much away from us! For the first time in my history, on a global scale, every single person was forced to excavate their dark fears and face their triggers and challenges. As a society in general, we don’t deal well with uncertainty. One of the best things that 2020 has given us, though, is an opportunity to get clear on what's most important to you. Although my entire yoga business went down the toilet (buh-bye traveling for yoga retreats or seeing people in person in my yoga classes), I’m proud of myself for pivoting, evolving, learning new skills and creating a new type of business where I can share my gifts at a much deeper level of service. I created six courses this year, helped over a hundred people move through fears to their biggest break throughs. I was about to move on to my next gratitude,when Jake put a hand on my heart, looked me in the eyes and said, “Take a moment, pause, and really listen to yourself. Receive it!” What an important lesson! So often, we reach a goal, give ourselves a quick pat on the back and move on to the next goal. Especially on January 1st, we are eager to GO-GO-GO and list off 25 New Year’s Resolutions and then we feel overwhelmed and feel like a failure. I get it! We’ve been SO ready for a new year…since last June. What if… you slowed down to take a moment to just recognize and appreciate: how far you've come this year? What you've overcome? what you're appreciating about yourself I know, it’s strange – telling yourself that you’re proud of yourself. You’re an adult, not a toddler learning to feed themselves. It’s important to be proud of yourself. and Honestly, you probably don’t say it enough. I don’t. Gratitude goes a long way. It cultivates more joy. It brings you back to the present moment. Gratitude propels you into the future of what you want to attract and call into your life. Gratitude is the portal for creating the life you desire and deserve. …and isn’t this what we really want when we’re setting a goal? To feel more joy in our life! How to Let Go of Expectations
Christmas is a strange time to me. I really love the idea of community and gathering together, but find too often I easily get caught up in the consumerism frenzy over creating memories. In today's episode I share my personal struggle with my husband about expectations, disappointments and how to stay open to learn the lesson so we can heal and communicate through a place of healthy self respect, boundaries and love. MANTRA: when you're triggered by someone, can you look deeper at you expectations of this person? What is underneath that layer of disappointment and what is it teaching you?
