On our next stroll down 90s lane, we look back at the music that shaped our lives. All the Dr. Dre, TLC, and Sublime your cochlea can handle. Let us tickle yours with our first loves. Of music that is. Many of which were bought on cassette tape. For the kids out there, that was the way we listened to music before CDs. Oh shit, you dont actually know what CDs are either. Well, this was like physical media for music. Pre stream.

Who thought we could cram that influential of a decade into just one episode? Sit down. First things first, Decision time. No more “Cliffhangers”. Which year? You wont wont be disappointed. Then we’ll get into the rest of this underrated era of film-making and cover some of the best and some of our favorites. The two are not mutually exclusive. And hopefully before the exhaustion sets in we’ll decide who had the best decade in film.

Here we go. How much time you got for us to talk about quite possibly the greatest decade in Film-making? From a horror film dominating the Oscars, to a new beginning for the greatest franchise in history. But that’s not why you’re here. You want to know what we think. ‘93 or ‘94? Oh we’ll have that debate.

Was there a better time to be a fan of Chicago sports than in the 90s? Yeah! The Aughts! But the Aughts did not have Michael Jordan. Well, they did, but we dont talk about that. Lets celebrate the greatest team of the decade. Let’s talk the greatest sport of the decade. Is it Baseball, Football, Basketball? The answer may surprise you. Football had its Cowboys, and Baseball had its Steroids. Basketball had Jordan, the Dream Team, and that ‘96 draft. Ok, the answer may not surprise you.

So this was a last minute subject for us. Does this squeeze in to TV? Do we talk Films? The answer is yes. But mostly TV. Animated Series’ came into their own in the 90s. Hell, Spielberg was making cartoons. So its relevant. Growing up 90s these are what truly shaped us. The stories we learned and the voices who told them.

For our next installment of weaponized nostalgia we go with the other medium that consumed our pubescent years. The Video Game boom. From the original home gaming system of the 90s. The Super Nintendo. To the incredible evolution of the Playstation 1 and the Nintendo 64. We’ll break down some of the best games of the decade and gush on the ones that had a huge impact on our lives.

We were children in the 90s. Of course our first voyage is Toys. We’ll break down the top selling toys of each decade and share some personal experiences on a few of our own. Power Rangers. Check. Tomagotchi. Check. Pogs. Check. We’ll do some deep diving on the history of wrestling figures. Plus plenty of love for the phenomenon known as the X-men, and the weekly action figures released by Toy Biz.

Wherein we get balls deep on some activities that involve balls…and cleats.  Brian had to go play dad at home, so we slid @SMJuiceman across the table as we deep dive on the current state of sports and what is wrong and/or right with the NBA.  We spend 99% less time talking about LeBron James than ESPN does and you are welcome for that, no guarantees on Steph Curry though.  Does Adam Silver deserve to be elected to public office?  Does Kyle wish that he was a little bit taller?  Does Chris wish that he was a baller? As Duane “The Rock” Johnson once said, ”It doesn’t matter”…you’re going to listen regardless of what we type here.

Wherein we answer your question. If your question was “Does Six Pack and A Pod like to Chat Chit sports?” Answer: “Is Bob Kraft where he’s at today because he pays for tug jobs in Florida spas?” Yes. The answer is yes, we do. But we’re drafting some help from someone who literally gets paid to talk sports. See that. “Draft” is a football reference. Told you we knew our shit. Kyle Michalski(@SMJuiceman) is here to vent on many things Chicago Sports and his thoughts on the Big 3 Leagues. Sorry hockey and soccer. But we’ll also share some of our favorite moments in Chicago sports history. Discuss why none of us like Michael Jordan. HaHaHaHa, yeah right.
