Poltergeist
Katie and Bridget dive head first into a closet as they re-watch the movie: Poltergeist! It's a story all about a nice, healthy, normal family, who all like each other and treat each other with love and respect... In the 80s! Clearly this is a FICTIONAL story! Come along as we meet our nice American family being plagued by ghosts(!?), demons(!?), I guess also a poltergeist(!?!?) - honestly its just a lot of terrible spooky stuff happening, all run by ghosts wearing hats! We've got kidnapped kids, evil clown dolls, sentient trees, and a Willy Wonka staircase all going on in this movie. Will the family be able to get their daughter, Carol Anne, back from the TV? Well spoiler alert, as Zelda said: "Now let's go get your daughter back." (and then Katie screamed with joy)! Released in 1982, it was co-written by Steven Spielberg and directed by Tobe Hooper.

The Princess Diaries
Katie and Bridget randomly go rock climbing as they re-watch the movie: The Princess Diaries! It's a story all about how if your estranged grandma comes back into your life, when your also estranged dad recently dies, while your not estranged but definitely eclectic mom kept it all a secret from you just cause(!) - Well, then you just might be a princess....?! Come along as we meet Mia, a girl who just wants to be invisible but who also wants to drive a mustang. She is thrust into the princess lifestyle by our mother Julie Andrews - er, we mean, by the Queen of Genova, aka her grandmother. Along the way we've got an AI generated high school experience, friends who are kinda mean to us unless we suit their needs, and lame guys who either name their boats after themselves or just awkwardly eat Skittles as their personality... Look this is a quirky movie okay!? Released in 2001, it stars Anne Hathaway, Julie Andrews, Heather Matarazzo, and Mandy Moore.

Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory
Katie and Bridget find their golden tickets as they re-watch the movie: Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory! It's a story all about how shaming children via song can really churn out some bops! Just kidding - it's actually about consumerism, lying to your family about fake disabilities, and testing the moral compass of children... Look this movie is a little ridiculous okay!? Come along as we meet Charlie, a poor kid who has to deliver newspapers by night just to support his grandpa's tobacco addiction. He finds one of Willy Wonka's golden tickets and gets to go on a magical tour of his demonic factory. Along the way he'll witness lots of potential child deaths, go on a traumatic boat ride, meet some Oompa Loompas (with awesome pants), and eventually get stuck in a glass elevator with two grown men floating around in space. It all. Makes. SENSE! Released in 1971, this movie was based on the novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, written by Roald Dahl.

The Fifth Element
Katie and Bridget podcast in space (on a hijacked space cruise ship) as they re-watch the movie: The Fifth Element! It's a movie all about how Captain Planet was right listing out 5 elements of Earth instead of just 4! ...Look it was written by a teenage boy okay!? Come along as we meet Korben Dallas, a guy who speaks in mumbles, who gets thrust into a random plot about saving the world from an evil planet called Dr. Shadow!(??!?!?) Oh yeah he also falls in love with the supreme being named Leeloo, who can save us all but only if Korben and her make out..... Guys this was written by a teenage boy okay!? They are up against evil aliens and the very charismatic Zorg, in addition to getting to podcast with Ruby Rhod for a little as well! Will they be able to get out of the escape room - er, we mean... Will they be able to save the planet? Does future Earth apparently still have landlines!? Released in 1997, it stars Bruce Willis, Milla Jovovich, Gary Oldman, Ian Holm, and Chris Tucker.

Pen15: NOstalgic Happy Hour
Katie and Bridget get bowl cuts for middle school as they discuss this month's NOstalgic Happy Hour pick: Pen15! It's a show that depicts the ups and downs (mainly downs with lots of embarrassment really) that we've all experienced in middle school. Come along as we meet Anna and Maya - two best friends who experience all the awkwardness including being boy crazy, asking people out/breaking up with them via notes, picking your AIM screenname, getting your first kiss, experiencing racism, your parents going through a divorce, sexual predators, bullying - oh uh sorry that got a little out of hand didn't it!? WELCOME TO MIDDLE SCHOOL! Watch as these two 30 year old women perfectly display what it's like to go through the weirdest time in everyone's schooling with lots of laughs and lots of heart. Toy Story
Katie and Bridget fly through the air via rocket as they re-watch the movie: Toy Story! It's an adorable little movie made for children all about toys coming to life... JK its really about toy DRAMA/toy TRAUMA and how your lives are in never-ending danger!!!!?!?! Come along as we meet Woody, the leader of the toy cult, who gets his #1 toy spot taken away by Buzz Lightyear, a toy who doesn't realize he's a toy and will go through an existential crisis before the movie's over! They face lots of different obstacles including: crazy neighbor kids who need to have their Amazon accounts shut down; hellbent dogs (much like our dogs Penny and Bear!); your cult turning against you; your owners moving without you; your owners overall just losing you; being strapped to a rocket; almost exploding in the air; almost being burned alive; there's also some potential cannibal toys too until there's not - you know what, just take our word for it that this movie is seriously TOY DRAMA AND TRAUMA! Released in 1995, it was Pixar's first movie ever!

The Others
Katie and Bridget eat some ghost soup as they re-watch the movie: The Others! It's a movie all about how when your house becomes covered in fog and all the birds disappear and everybody from your life mysteriously disappears and you hear weird noises and your kids tell you that there's someone living in your house... Welp... You just might be a ghost! Spoiler alert! Come along as we meet Grace, a woman who really just needs some therapy and vitamin D; Ann, an 11 year old who definitely should run for Congress; and Nicholas, a little boy who to no fault of his own - may actually be a wooden puppet come to life. This dysfunctional family wastes time being unnecessarily enabled by their new ghost maids - which seems weird that someone would voluntarily choose to continue being a maid when you're a ghost, doesn't it? Will the family figure out who the others are? Is the bible full of bullshit?! Released in 2001, it stars the one and only Nicole Kidman.

She's the Man
Katie and Bridget become dudes (really hunky dudes!) as they re-watch the movie: She's the Man! It's a movie all about how if your dreams of becoming a soccer star get crushed because your school gets rid of the team without telling anyone, then just go pretend to be a member of the opposite sex to play soccer instead! It all makes sense! Come along as we meet Viola: a girl who literally just goes through the joke/plot explanation from the sentence before. She pretends to be her brother Sebastian to join the soccer team, because he's off in London secretly. Most importantly her roommate ends up being Channing Tatum (aka Duke), and they form a bro-mance/romance(?) all while lots of other ridiculous plot takes place. Honestly this movie was based off of a Shakespeare play, so you know there's DRAMA and PLOT! Released in 2006, it stars Amanda Bynes, Channing Tatum, David Cross, Vinnie Jones, and Laura Ramsey.

95th Oscars: NOstalgic Happy Hour
Katie and Bridget take selfies of themselves crying with joy (true story!) as they discuss this month's NOstalgic Happy Hour pick: the 95th Oscars Awards! We go through each part of the ceremony bit by bit and discuss all things fashion, movies, awkwardness, and the obvious lack of slaps this year. Our fan favorite Everything Everywhere All at Once was a big winner, while the best acting categories were swept with lots of come-back winners! Hear all about our opinions on how Disney needs to chill, how people don't forget that Jimmy Kimmel used to host "The Man Show", and how Rihanna also needs to chill because she's literally about to have a baby - I mean girl!? Hear about some suggestions we give for future ceremonies, such as providing m&ms to everyone while watching Eminem perform, as well as bringing through a random tour bus of people ala the 90th Oscars. Relive the magic that is one of our favorite night in movies through this wine filled episode!

Forgetting Sarah Marshall
Katie and Bridget go inside of youuuuuuu as they re-watch the movie: Forgetting Sarah Marshall! It's a story all about moving on from a bad break up and how following your dreams is important - especially if your dreams involve creating a Muppet-esq Dracula musical! Come along as we meet Peter, who just got broken up with by Sarah Marshall. He decides that going to Hawaii (WITHOUT BOOKING A ROOM AHEAD OF TIME!? DUDE!) is the best way to help him get over the break up, until he realizes that he's now on vacation with Sarah and her boyfriend Aldous Snow! But don't worry, on his vacation Peter meets Rachel, a Hawaiian Kardashian, who teaches him what it means to live life again! Will Peter and Sarah end up together? NO - Read the title for God's sake! Here's a better question - will Peter learn that doing a helicopter dick is too much? Does a man get beat up with a starfish? Released in 2008, the movie features a star-studded cast including Jason Segel, Kristen Bell, Mila Kunis, Paul Rudd, Bill Hader, Russell Brand, Jack McBrayer, and Jonah Hill!

Miracle
Katie and Bridget BELIEVE IN MIRACLES as they re-watch... Well... Miracle! It's a movie all about how the U.S. Olympic hockey team beat out the Soviets (aka Russians, according to Bridget) in the 1980 Winter Olympics. Follow along our main character Herb Brooks who likes to remind us all that "the legs feed the wolves" (?????). He's the coach looking to earn a gold medal after being kicked off the U.S. Olympic hockey team himself years ago. For what, you ask? We don't know! He pulls together a rag tag team of college kids who all kind of look the same so don't ask us who's who. All we need to know is Jimmy (not our brother Jimmy) is the goalie and that O'Callahan is the bum leg guy! Oh yeah and also Ralph - you should know Ralph, who definitely got screwed in this movie. Why? WE DON'T KNOW! Released in 2004, it stars Kurt Russell and Patricia Clarkson.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit
Katie and Bridget get lost in Toon Town as they rewatch the iconic, yet also traumatizing, 80's movie: Who Framed Roger Rabbit (no question mark at the end for some reason??). Come along as we meet Eddie, a sad, alcoholic, depressed, out of work, brother-less guy who gets hired to do some private investigating on some toons. He gets roped into figuring out well... Who framed Roger Rabbit! Was it really Roger, the silly rabbit whose got great comedic timing? Was it his wife Jessica Rabbit, who plays patty cake with some dude and we just really don't have a clue what that means? Or is the scary evil guy who wears all black, talks about wanting to kill toons, and his last name is Doom? GIVE YA ONE GUESS WHO'S THE BAD GUY. Released in 1988, it stars Bob Hoskins, Christopher Lloyd, among lots and lots of voice actors!

Hairspray
Katie and Bridget sing YOU CAN'T STOP THE BEAT as they re-watch the movie: Hairspray! Follow along as Tracy Turnblad strives to be a dancer on the Corny Collins show. She's got the moves, she's got the confidence, and pretty quickly into the movie she gets picked to be on the show! ... But that's only about a half hour in, so really the main conflict of the movie is 1960s racism! Along with some new friends Tracy helps everybody dance against the injustice and she also gets a hot boyfriend out of it too (cool!). This movie features an insane cast of characters with an insane cast of really just way too many actors to list out here. Released in 2007, this movie was a remake of the 1988 movie of the same name.

Everything Everywhere All at Once: NOstalgic Happy Hour
Katie and Bridget go to another universe as they discuss this month's NOstalgic Happy Hour pick: Everything Everywhere All at Once! It's a movie that really makes you think about family, relationships, and why The Brave Little Toaster was onto something with it's kindness message. Come along as we meet Evelyn, a women who is currently getting audited, organizing a party for her rude dad, being handed divorce papers, and making her daughter cry! ... Don't worry things get better for her eventually! She's married to Waymond, who seriously needs to become my new alarm clock in morning. And they have a daughter named Joy, who is really Jobu Tupaki: an evil being with some seriously styling outfit choices! Evelyn is chosen to save the multiple universes from Jobu with the help of Alpha Waymond, who then is really just regular Waymond, both of whom are important for her character development, as well as that other Waymond... Look there's multiple characters of the same people alright!? Also there's Raccacoonie - who may or may not be the most influential character (in Katie's opinion)! Released in 2022, it was written and directed by Dan Kwan and Daniel Scheinert.

Mortal Kombat
Katie and Bridget utilize the technicality as they re-watch the 90's movie: Mortal Kombat! It's a wild ride of action, themed-restaurant-esq sets, and dead people! Lots and lots of dead people. Come along as we follow our heroes Liu Kang, the chosen one who's grandpa really needs to learn to type better, Johnny Cage, a guy who is not afraid to use a crotch shot to win a fight, and Sonya Blade, a woman who might now be wanted for murder... Don't forget about Kitana! She's there too...? These heroes are led by Raiden, a guy I'm not convinced knows what's happening/he might just be a hobo who wandered onto the set. Will they be able to beat the evil Shang Tsung and save the world? Does Liu Kang have Herbal Essences hair!? Released in 1995, it was based off of the popular video game Mortal Kombat!

The Lion King
Katie and Bridget frantically try to read the closed captioning words to "The Circle of Life" as they re-watch Katie's favorite animated movie: The Lion King! It's basically just Hamlet with some cartoon lions - and a little bit of Bambi tossed in there too! Come along as we meet Simba, a lion cub destined to be king who goes through TRAUMA as he gets gaslighted into thinking he killed his dad Mufasa. His uncle Scar (you know, the uncle that everybody refuses to accept as their friend on Facebook) then takes over and ruins everything. Simba gets adopted by the two winners of the BFF award - Timon and Pumba - and they Hakuna Matata their way to young adulthood! But when Simba has an existential crisis thanks to our favorite wiccan Rafiki, he decides to go back and take his place as king! It makes ya sing! It makes ya laugh! It makes Katie cry probably a little too much! Released in 1994, it features many famous actors including: Matthew Broderick, James Earl Jones, Whoopi Goldberg, Jeremy Irons, and Rowan Atkinson.

Alien
Katie and Bridget run around a spaceship frantically as they re-watch the horror sci-fi classic: Alien! It's a movie all about how people don't want to quarantine or listen to Dr. Fauci - er, we mean, Ripley - and then that doesn't turn out so well for them. Come along as we discuss philosophical questions, such as: Would you save the cat/would you just carry it around differently/would you use the cat to attack the alien/would you also make little cat tunnels in the ships to avoid all of this!? We talked a lot about the cat if we're being honest. And as a side note - if anyone knows where this set is or if we can go visit it PLEASE LET US KNOW CAUSE WOW! Released in 1979, it was directed by Ridley Scott.

Glass Onion: NOstalgic Happy Hour
Katie and Bridget show up uninvited to the party and set everything on fire as they discuss this month's NOstalgic Happy Hour pick: Glass Onion! It's a feature length commentary all about how billionaires are evil and dumb but how people who like them will still justify their stupidity somehow - aka, its a Twitter thread come to life! Come along as we follow the awesome Benoit Blanc as he works behind the scenes to try and solve the mystery death of Cassandra, who then also has to solve a real time murder that takes place, and then before that he also solves a fake murder as well. Honestly, he just needs his own series at this point okay!? He's GREAT! You'll meet Miles, the billionaire funding all this stupidity, along with his group of "disrupters" who need to seriously get their priorities straight. Will the killer get their comeuppance? Yes because its Miles (Is it really a spoiler alert at this point!? GLASS ONION GUYS). Released in 2022, it was written and directed by Rian Johnson.

The Brave Little Toaster
Katie and Bridget AND THEIR SISTER MARY(!) all go hug their appliances as they re-watch the movie: The Brave Little Toaster! It's a classic 80's kids film which means - its filled with horrific nightmares and crippling existentialism! But don't worry, there are silly puns along the way, which makes it okay! Come along as we follow Toaster, Lampy, Blanky, Radio, and Kirby (he's a vacuum - we don't know why he gets a real name either) as they embark on a journey through the wilderness and into the city to find their Mast... Er, their "owner". Will the appliances be reunited before they are: thrown off a waterfall, sucked into quicksand, kidnapped by appliance Ed Gein, thrown into a dumpster, and almost turned into blocks of metal!? Well technically no since all of those things happen BEFORE they are reunited... But don't worry we all somehow make it out in the end! Released in 1987, it was based on the novel of the same name written by Thomas M. Disch.
