Anthony Casto's story
One of the greatest writers of all time, Leo Tolstoy once said "Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself." True change is difficult. Even more difficult is making the right change. For some, discerning the right decisions when it comes to our health isn't difficult. It can even come intuitively. For many more, however, these are decisions that are cluttered with voices from every angle and we don't know which advice is the correct advice. It can take a lot to make the right change. It can even take a near-death experience. Most of us haven't been close to death. According to the International Association of Near-Death Studies, only between 4 and 15 percent of Americans have actually had near-death experiences. As 1st world citizens who are part of a culture obsessed with staying away from death, even to the point of fearing death, we may not be doing such a great job. Very few would entertain the idea of actually having a near-death experience if they had a choice, but the irony of being close to death is that it can lead to transformation of one's life such that they start living in ways that more effectively resist death. Our guest over the next few weeks knows all about making the right health changes. He didn't have to get a degree or study nutrition or exercise or even hire a coach. He had a near-death experience and was diagnosed with a life-altering disease...or so he was told. This week, listen to hear Anthony Casto's story of tragedy, hope, and transformation. Michael Cazayoux: Overcoming obstacles
Marcus Aurelius wrote in Meditations the following quote: "The impediment to action advances action. What stands in the way becomes the way." In this episode, I talk with Michael Cazayoux, the CEO of Brute Strength and host of the Brute Strength Podcast. Michael has a past littered with obstacles. Coming out of drug addiction as a teenager, he has utilized the skills and discipline gained from fitness and a journey through winning the Crossfit games on a team and continued applying that discipline into building his business.  This episode is a great listen packed full of simple yet highly effective advice for breaking through the issues you may be going through and gaining control over your goals.  Find Michael: Instagram: @brute.strength http://brutestrengthtraining.com/
