Launching her sustainable fashion line, with Nazia Siddiqui

Nazia Siddiqui has a career in finance but a passion for fashion design so she founded Transcend, a Seattle-based women’s fashion brand focused on art and sustainability. With Transcend, she combines hand-embroidered textiles from South Asia with timeless silhouettes to bring unique, thoughtful and beautiful pieces that women want to wear again and again. In the future, she hopes to scale her business by working with a broad number of artisan groups and communities across the globe.   In this episode, she introduces her startup and explains why she decided to focus on hand embroidery and watercolor prints. She also shares her thoughts on sustainability and ethics in relation to her business.   Episode details and video can be found at: http://shittyideatime.com/56   Connect with Nazia at: https://weartranscend.com/ https://www.facebook.com/weartranscend https://instagram.com/weartranscend https://twitter.com/weartranscend   For support & info about starting and growing your small business, join the Shitty Idea Time Business Collective (formerly The Small Business Incubator) or find me on Instagram @shittyideatime
