Exploring Culture: Sashah Ra
Repost of one of our most popular episodes from when we first started our podcast (and when it was called Shift)! Original air date: July 2018
In this episode we were lucky enough to chat with Sashah Ra. Lucky for a few different reasons. The first being she's an amazing womxn with a wealth of knowledge when it comes to social justice, the second being she was just about to embark on a year long journey working in Tanzania as a gender equality agent.
We discuss the barriers that are stopping many social work organizations from serving those in need, in the best possible way. We explore why she has chosen to focus on youth throughout her career, and why she feels we need to invest more in them.
As someone who is passionate about travelling Sashah breaks down the ways in which we need to explore, understand, and appreciate culture. Dissecting the difference between voyeurism and appreciation. Tune in to hear what you can do to advocate within your own community
