Brad and I had a small window of time last week to chat about our summers and the beginning of school. This week started all the things for both of us. Brad has a daughter heading off to her freshman year of college and 3 other kids entering school. While I have a homeschooled 3rd grader, 2nd grade in-person student, preschooler and almost 2 year old. Needless to say, we are B U S Y!!! We recently returned from an extended stay at Walt Disney World. Six kids under the age of 8 and four adults.  This was a trip we had planned for two years and canceled several times because of COVID. We finally decided to take the leap and go the very safest way possible! Brad and I haven't seen each other in almost 2 years, even though we talk all the time and launched this podcast during a pandemic.  Earlier this month, we all flew out to Bozeman, Montana to surprise Jeff for his 40th birthday. The surprise was epic! A moment we will never forget. Jeff had absolutely no idea Brad and Carrie would be in Bozeman when we landed, they really made his 40th birthday one for the books. Brad and I hopped on our mics last week to chat all things Montana...keeping this big birthday surprise...and our very first attempt at skiing, ever. You scroll through Instagram and find a pair of sunglasses you love on an Influencer. You click the brand she's tagged. After a few clicks, the sunglasses appear on your doorstep in 3-5 days. The convenience of online shopping is two-fold, in my opinion. While it's super helpful for a busy mom of 4 who doesn't have time or energy to shop, it can also be a slippery slope for children and teenagers who can click a button and make a purchase on something they want vs. something they actually need. We missed out on our epic spring break trip to Destin last month, like many of you did... but other than that, we kind of feel like we aren't missing out on too much! Hey all you cool cats and kittens, I think we'd be living under a rock to not acknowledge the burning question, did Carole Baskin kill her husband? Totally kidding. Professional organizer, Kelly Beutler with The Joyful Sort took the time to step away from Tiger King and chat with us about what her company does and how it's not so foreign of an idea for me and you!

Shanisty and Brad had the chance to interview Jeff Reitz who has been visiting Disneyland consecutively for more than 8 years. He was set to reach his 3,000th consecutive visit to Disneyland on Wednesday, March 18th... but due to COVID-19, Disneyland was shut down on his 2,995th consecutive visit. Take a listen as Jeff chats with Shanisty and Brad about his journey! 

It's the first week our COVID-19 quarantine and social distancing. Maybe you aren't able to stay at home during this unprecedented time in our country and around the world. Maybe this is the first time you've been able to stay at home with your kids, and take some time away from the office.  Regardless, this is a time of many uncertainties and things we can't control. Naturally, the first question that came to our mind was how do we discuss this with our children, and how do we shield them from our emotions? Shanisty and Brad turn to an expert, Dr. Josh Klapow who is a clinical psychologist and offers up some amazing, expert insight for us and COVID-19. "While this is a time and place to have compassion, children are also learning grit...they’re learning resiliency. Being reassuming to your kids is great, but just know...it’s also okay not to have the answers. Don’t make your kids false promises, it’s okay to say I just don’t know when you’re going back to school, I don’t know when this will all pass. That’s okay to say."
