How to Get Unstuck from Grief
How do we help others get unstuck from grief? Listen to our discussion with Wilson Adams as we discuss how to care for others who are in the “miry clay” of pain and grief. I waited patiently for the LORD; and He inclined to me and heard my cry. He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay, And He set my feet upon a rock making my footsteps firm (Psalm 40:1-2, NASB).

Relationship C.S.I – James 3-4
Why do fights happen? Why are our homes / churches / nations in turmoil? James 3 and 4 give us plain and simple answers. We call this discussion, Relationship C.S.I. Let’s cross the yellow tape, get to the crime scene, open up James and figure out what happened. For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice (James 3:16). What causes quarrels and what causes fights among you? Is it not this, that your passions are at war within you? (James 4:1) Here is an article I wrote on this topic: Relationship C.S.I.

Mentoring with Benjamin Lee
Today’s Podcast is a discussion on Mentoring with Benjamin Lee! The key passage for our study is from 2 Timothy 2:2. Paul told Timothy, “And what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.” There are 4 generations of Christians in that passage! Do you see it? Paul, then Timothy, then “faithful men” who will “teach others also.” Paul, like Jesus, was a generational thinker. God wants us to plan generationally. Too many Christians, including Christian leaders, live at the end of their noses. We have to purposefully and actively train and equip the next generations of Christian leaders and teachers. And that’s what this podcast today is all about. Thanks Benjamin Lee for taking part in this discussion. Visit Benamin Lee’s Website and Blog! https://benjaminlee.blog/

Highlighting and Humanizing
Thanks for your patience as we get caught up! Life’s been crazy here prepping to move. This week’s podcast is from the book of Luke as we consider how Jesus pointed out some incredible people and showed their immense value to God. As you read through the book of Luke, you will find Jesus drawing attention to many people that the Jewish leadership despised and considered worthless outcasts. He publicly shined the divine spotlight on these people to draw attention to their value and their amazing character. Tax collectors. Harlots. Roman Centurions. Gentiles. Samaritans. Lepers. Women. All those who were not valued at all by the Jewish leadership in those days. In fact, Jesus frequently pointed out that the Scribes and Pharisees treated livestock better than they did these children of God. When he highlights the special people, he often will ask questions. “Do you see this woman?” “Who touched me?” “Which of you, having a son or an ox that has fallen into a well on a Sabbath day, will not immediately pull him out?” In these discussions, Jesus will make sure that the humanity and value of these people are clearly made known. Jesus, as the Lord, made man in His own image, so he understands more than anyone that each person has incredible value. Each soul was precious to him. Jesus asked a Pharisee, “Do you see this woman?” Look at her and see her value and great faith! The very sick woman who pushed through the crowds to touch the hem of Jesus’ garment was called “daughter” by Jesus. He called the woman who was severely bent over for 18 years a “daughter of Abraham.” The man with the withered hand had a “life” which Jesus wanted to save. The Gentile Roman Centurion, according to Jesus, had a faith that was greater than anyone of the nation of Israel. There is great power in pointing out the humanity and value of a human life. Mister Rogers was one of the best around for highlighting some very special people. I believe he got the concept very well that Jesus was teaching. The Germans saw with their own eyes what happened in the concentration camps. Before it was just a distant subject that really didn’t affect them. Then they were walked through the camps. When a mother has an ultrasound and sees her baby, the rates of those who have abortions drops dramatically.A criminal has to face his accusers / family to see the pain and suffering he has inflicted upon other human beings. Here is the outline that I wrote before the podcast. Highlighting and HumanizingDownload

Know the Needs of Your Flock – 1 Thessalonians 5:14
Today’s discussion is with Roger Shouse. We dive into 1 Thessalonians 5:14 which teaches us to know the various needs of people. We must not have a cookie-cutter, one-size-fits-all approach to others, whether that is members of our congregation, or kids at home. People are different, and have different needs, maturity levels and personalities. And we urge you, brothers, admonish the idle, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with them all. (1 Thessalonians 5:14). Roger is an evangelist with the Charlestown Road Church of Christ in New Albany, IN. He co-hosts the Heaven Bound podcast with his fellow minister, Jason Hardin. Roger also writes a daily blog called Jump Starts. Lots of practical daily advice from God’s word in Roger’s blog. I love it!
