The Shield of Faith
The shield of faith is the fourth piece of the Armor of God the Apostle Paul writes about in Ephesians Chapter Six. One of the things that stands out to me is that he says "...take up the shield of faith..." The words take up tell me it's something we are responsible for. In other words, there is a preparedness or readiness on our end that is required! This episode will champion you forward and help equip you to push back the enemy when you feel opposed in your faith! You can learn more about Susan and her ministry, She Rises, at www.sherisesmn.org. You can also find her on Facebook and Instagram at Susan Vandenheuvel.

The Breastplate of Righteousness
This week we're continuing our series on the Armor of God with the Breastplate of Righteousness. As we look at King Solomon this week we will see that it wasn't outward pressure that harmed his leadership and the nation he led, but an inward weakness - his heart. He wasn't living a life that reflected the righteousness of God.   Righteousness and holiness still matters!   You can learn more about Susan and her ministry, She Rises, at www.sherisesmn.org. The Armor of God
We're starting a new series that will help listeners better understand spiritual warfare and the Armor of God. In this week's episode, we will lay the framework for upcoming episodes that unpack each piece of the armor.    As followers of Christ, we are in a spiritual war. Whether we understand it or even agree with it; we are in a spiritual war but through God, we will overcome!   Be sure to subscribe to the podcast so you don't miss an episode and share with someone who you know would be encouraged in this series.   Learn more about Susan and her ministry, She Rises, at www.sherisesmn.org. Created for Community with Bridgette Tomlin
Let's be honest, sometimes relationships are hard. Sometimes it's our own expectations, insecurities, or misconceptions that make having friends difficult.   In this week's episode, we're joined by my friend, Bridgette Tomlin and together we are having an honest conversation about not only being a part of a community but creating a community around us. We're thrilled you're here and can't wait to connect with you this week!   Bridgette and her husband, Chresten, have been married for 25 years and have been in the ministry together for every single one of those years! (whew!) 24 of the 25 years have been spent in full-time evangelistic work, both stateside and overseas. They have two beautiful blonde babies--ages 18 and 13--and are based out of Tulsa, Oklahoma. As a gifted singer, musician, and speaker, Bridgette is used by the Lord and plays a major role in the couple’s ministry—both administratively and ministerially. She has a heart to see the people of God grow and mature spiritually. Bridgette ministers through speaking engagements, blogs frequently from their ministry site, and is the founder of a ministry for ministry wives, Sanctuary. Sanctuary launched a podcast for women in ministry in 2020 called Let's Talk with Sanctuary and Bridgette serves as the primary host. When she finds time for personal hobbies, Bridgette enjoys entertaining, blogging, singing, browsing the local antique shops, and sipping on a cup of hot tea for a few precious quiet moments. Her heart is to lead others to the authentic presence of God--through worship, through Word, and through one-on-one connection.   Connect with Bridgette in these places: Facebook:  Bridgette Tomlin Instagram: @bridgiecarol Instagram:  @sanctuarym2mw Web:  www.sanctuaryministrywives.com Web:  www.ctministries.com Podcast:  Let's Talk with Sanctuary   You can learn more about Susan and her ministry, She Rises, at https://www.sherisesmn.org/. How to Handle Criticism
Everyone in life receives criticism. Whether through comments, in conversations, emails, text messages, or in the workplace criticism is part of life. Because we can't completely avoid criticism, it would be wise to better understand how to handle it when it comes.    In this week's episode we're going to focus on five key ways of handling criticism well, and rather than allowing it to keep us bitter, resentful, or even stuck, reframe it to learn and grow from.    You can learn more about Susan and her ministry, She Rises, at https://www.sherisesmn.org/. I'm thrilled to officially share, together with this week's guest, all the details about an upcoming weekend created for women coming January 13-14, 2023. God Doesn’t Waste Anything! with Robin Ruonala
This week, one of my dearest friends, Robin Ruonala, joins us to talk about her story of how God helped her through one of the most challenging times of her life - the tragic loss of her first husband.   Be encouraged today that no matter what you've been through or walking through right now, it isn't the end of your story.    In Word, and in song, Robin’s desire is to impart a transparent expression of hope and freedom; in Christ - to this, and future generations. Residing on the coastland, she and her Husband Rick Ruonala serve as Associate Pastors, at their home church; Grace Christian Fellowship, in Little River South Carolina. “My tongue is the pen of a ready writer, overflowing with the goodness of my King”. Embracing Change Pt. 3
This week, let's talk about putting footsteps to your faith. Faith has an element of risk and we can't take steps three and four if we're first not willing to take steps one and two.   Often, it's the fear of failure or fear of the unknown that holds us back, however. In this episode, we'll cover how to put footsteps to your faith when fear is present.   You can learn more about Susan and her ministry at https://www.sherisesmn.org/. Praise Him in the Hallway
We're in a mini-series on transition and this week's episode has been on my heart to include. Often we hear about doors closing, seasons ending, and new doors and new beginnings but not a lot about the space in between.   You've maybe heard, "Until the Lord opens the next door, praise Him in the hallway." This week, let's talk about the hallway. When transitioning, it's important to learn how to wait well because God is equally concerned about our time in the hallway as He is walking us through new doors. Perhaps, even more!   Honored to have you here, now let's connect!   Learn more about Susan and her ministry, She Rises, at https://www.sherisesmn.org/. Embracing Change Pt. 2
I hope you're enjoying this mini-series on change and transition. This week is part two of Embracing Change - Faith Has Ears. This episode is so practical! Because I believe God doesn't make it complicated to hear His voice, I wanted to give you tools to better understand and grow in your confidence to hear Him. I've also shared a couple of examples of how I confirm something I feel the Lord has spoken to my heart. He wants you to hear Him!   You can learn more about Susan and her ministry, She Rises, at https://www.sherisesmn.org/   You can find Susan on Facebook and Instagram at Susan Vandenheuvel.
