Ep 67 - The end of 2020: Reflections
This will be my last episode for 2020. I’m taking a much needed break from the business over the next few weeks so that I can get my creative juices flowing to hopefully create some exciting more valuable shows for 2021.I want to first thank you for listening to the show. I know I say it in the intro and the outro but I really do mean it. I had no idea that the show would be received so well and without a big advertising machine behind me, I’ve managed to gain over a thousand listeners each month which is amazing to me! I cannot thank you enough for being here, supporting and listening. If you do enjoy the show, please please please can you write a review on Apple podcasts as this really helps other people discover the show too.For the new year, I’d like to aim a little higher with the types of shows I produce. I’m looking at interviewing more high profile people and bringing you even more insight and support for your wellbeing. If you have any ideas, please feel free to send me an email hello@pujamcclymont.com - your input is invaluable, it’s your show, after all.So in today’s show, I want to cover the year we’ve had and how to take the best bits even if you think there may not be any. There are some tips as always to help with creating a better year for yourself in 2021.https://pujamcclymont.comhttps://bensound.com

Ep 65 - Interview with client: How the Pandemic helped me pursue my dreams
In this episode I get to talk with one of my newest clients, Elissa. Elissa and I started working together back in April when we were in the thick of the pandemic and lockdown was in full swing.Elissa came to me about her career and some personal stuff which over 5 months we worked through and made big improvements in all areas of her life. This show demonstrates how through the pandemic and also a very serious personal experience, Elissa gained a huge alignment to gratitude and its value. On a personal note, I believe that people come into our lives at just the right time and even though I was her coach, I think I’ve actually gained a very special friendship too.Elissa and I had never met in person until lockdown was lifted and I was hosting some self-development classes. She came to my first one (not even my husband came) to show her support and I think I cried a little at this beautiful exchange of energy - her gratitude to me and my gratitude to her.I get inspired by all of my clients and Elissa is no exception. I love her zeal for life and her ambitions. She’s a true fighter, highly spirited and a real joy to be around. She inspires me to be better and even for me to stick to my goals which is of course a bonus! During our sessions, we were supporting each other with our health goals and it was great motivation for us so we’ll be continuing with this for the new year! And if you hear her sing, well, that’s a game-changer!https://pujamcclymont.comhttps://bensound.com

Ep 63 - Interview with client: How the pandemic made me confront my depression
In this episode, I speak to Komal who very courageously has decided to share her journey of living with depression for over 30 years and the positive impact the pandemic has had on her seeking support.I met Komal a few years ago in a Facebook group and she started following me on social media. When I shared my story of depression she instantly resonated, and in a way, this began her journey back to self. This year as the pandemic hit, Komal found herself reclusing in her home, locking herself away from her husband and daughter whilst working and it was after a few months of little interaction with her family that, she decided that she wanted to take affirmative action to start working on her depressionSelf-care, by putting her needs first has been the major catalyst to change as well as being more aware of her outward behaviour towards situations. She found that once she had admitted to herself that she wanted to do something about managing her mental wellbeing, it was imperative to share more with her closest people and communicate more effectively about the way she was feeling.Although at the start of this journey, Komal coming on to the show is a fierce bit of accountability for herself to continue with the great work she is doing, and I hope that this episode serves as some hope and inspiration for anyone listening that might be looking for support.https://pujamcclymont.comhttps://bensound.com

Ep 64 - 9 mistakes that stop you from being happy
In this show I talk about happiness and what stops you in your day to day from acknowledging that you are happy.Happiness is not a destination that you will arrive at once you've done a number of things, or achieved a number of goals. Happiness lives within you right now, in your breath, in your existence.Start with gratitude everyday and appreciate what you have, what you have done and where you are right now.It can always be worse or better but understanding that happiness is not a destination will help you acknowledge happiness for your life right now.https://pujamcclymont.comhttps://bensound.com

Ep 62 - A guide to gratitude with the science
Today’s show is a Guide to gratitude and includes the scientific reasons as to why and how it works. If you’ve dabbled here and there with having a gratitude practice, this show could help you be more consistent with it.I’ve always been a grateful person, always go out of my way to thank someone for their kindness and I start my day and end my nights with gratitude. It is this practice that has helped me the most with managing my mental wellbeing whilst healing from depression. When I’m feeling particularly low, I turn to gratitude to lift me up and it works every time. It’s not always easy, sometimes, I have to list a lot that I’m grateful for before I feel the effects but I find starting with my health, my family, friends, having money in the bank soon starts to lift my mood. Quite simply because my negative thoughts can’t fight with those fundamental things that I’m grateful for - it’s a way of tricking my mindBeing grateful every day takes practice but once the benefits outweigh the effort, you’ll soon see how much easier it is to do. And being grateful is a practice to be done when things are good as well as when things are bad - more so when things are bad.https://pujamcclymont.comhttps://bensound.com

Ep 61 - How to use Astrology as Spirituality
Life isn’t always rosey and sometimes, all the work that you can put in to achieve your goals can feel like they're in vein. In those tough times, I look to spirituality to help me get through.Spirituality for me is not just about religion and certainly not about any one teaching. I believe in ancient wisdom, learning from those who have walked before us and in discovering your own path to spirituality. I’ve always believed in something more, something else to guide me. Some might say that’s intuition and that may well be true. Either way, on those really really tough days, I look to other non-conventional teachings to help me get through and today, I want to share with you the most powerful tool I use that helps me get up and keep going. Ep 60 - How to choose the right healing therapy for stress and anxiety
Lockdown has opened us up to the world of self-care and wellbeing more than any other time since the wellness industry started to gain traction. At any given hour, there is a live yoga class, sound therapy, breath-work, meditation, EFT and a whole host of other off-shoots from eastern philosophy. On social media, every scroll offers us up a new way to look after ourselves, another type of class to do, another book to read, another self-care subscription box to buy but yet, our mental health is still suffering and if anything, has been exacerbated as a result of the pandemic. So, if we have so much access to so many of these great tools that will help our mental well being, help us manage stress and anxiety, why are we still struggling? The answer, my friends, is simple. These holistic therapies work, but they work as part of a system. These therapies will help with managing your symptoms but not the root cause. Which is why, if you’ve tried certain therapies, you might be asking yourself why you still feel rubbish about different areas of your life. https://www.pujamcclymont.comhttps://www.bensound.com

Ep 59 - Navigating a crossroads in your career
Do you feel like you’re at a crossroads in your career? Is your job making you feel unhappy and unfulfilled? I hear you and in this episode, I’m going to help you figure out what’s going on and help you to get some much needed clarity and direction for your next steps.Lockdown has been difficult for many reasons but I think the biggest reason is the amount of time it has actually given us to think about our lives. If you’re like me, this has been great and you’ve been sorting through your life and making it better. If you’re like the majority, you’ve struggled with all the thoughts that have come up for you, in particular your job.You might be feeling like it’s time for change after being in the same career for a while, you might feel like you’re stagnating and not feeling challenged anymore, or you just might want to change things completely. Whatever the reason, it’s always a good idea to reflect and see if you really need to be changing your work or whether it might be something else entirely.Self-doubt will definitely show up every time you think of changing things in your life especially with a career so in this show, I’m going to help you figure out what might be going on or holding you back from taking your next steps.https://pujamcclymont.comhttps://bensound.com

Ep 58 - Why you should exercise your mind and not just your body
In this episode I’m talking about why you should exercise your mind and not just your body. This is a potentially controversial one today but it’s been a while since I called out the wellness industry and this time, as we head into round 2 of lockdown in this pandemic, I think it’s time to share this.No matter how many posts and articles I see about raising the awareness of mental health, loads of self-care tips, barely anything really hits the nail when it comes to the mind. The most you’ll get is meditation but if your mind is FULL, how on earth are you supposed to meditate and reap the benefits? In this show I’m going to explore why working on your mind is so beneficial right now and how that can help you move to the next steps in your life. If you keep doing self-care acts like signing up to online classes, meditation, yoga etc you’ll feel better on the surface but your deep problems will still be there. Holistic medicine works well, holistically. You have to take care of your Mind, Body and Spirit for it to actually work! https://pujamcclymont.comhttps://www.bensound.com

Ep 57 - How to discover hobbies as an adult
In today’s episode I’m talking about how to discover hobbies as an adult and the benefits of having a hobby as an adult. When we're young it’s easy for us to have hobbies - they're usually suggested by our parents however, as we start doing more adulting, we soon forget about our hobbies - citing that we have no time to do them - and then fall into the spell of working and paying bills. Then, eating and drinking become our hobbies. Dining out and socialising are NOT hobbies. They are a part of human connection which is a basic need for our existence. In this show, I talk about what hobbies are, how they will benefit you and how you can start choosing which hobbies you’d like to introduce into your life.https://pujamcclymont.comhttps://bensound.com

Ep 56 - How to live with purpose after a pandemic
This episode marks one whole year of the Self Care 101 podcast’s existence. It’s also my 40th birthday this week. And we’re in a global pandemic with the biggest financial crisis since the great depression.I have my health, loved ones, some stability with work and many many dreams. I think that’s the most important bit right there, the dreams! If you think about it, without dreaming, we really are just machines. Living to work rather than working to live.Don’t know about you but whenever it’s my birthday, I spend about a month of the lead up (especially when it’s a milestone one) reflecting on the year gone by.Sometimes this is filled with lots of happy moments, other times much deeper reflection of where I am and who I am now. This year has obviously been even more different but I’ll tell you something for nothing, dreaming and dreaming big is a game-changer.After all, goals are just dreams with deadlines. In this episode, I’m going to talk to the dreamers about how to live a more fulfilling life.https://www.franklycoaching.comhttps://www.bensound.com

Ep 54 - Letting go of Ordinary and stepping into Mastery
I’ve talked a lot about taking this time as an opportunity for growth. Whether that’s personal growth by way of self-development or more practical pursuits like work and home-life.I want to take this a little further today and provide you with some information that has not only inspired me but also helps in getting truly practical about using this time as an opportunity. I have a lot of mentors. Most of them I don’t know personally and may never meet but they inspire me nonetheless. When I’m feeling stuck about life or work, I am usually very unproductive. I feel stressed and go into a bit of ‘woe is me’ with everything that applies to my life. When this happens, I know that it’s because I haven’t been actively growing. I haven’t been working on my personal journey, what matters to me, what feeds my soul and what helps me grow.At times like these, I stop and I start learning. This recently happened to me and so I found myself absorbing learning from one of my favourites, Jay Shetty through his podcast. He had an interview there with one of my mentors, Robin Sharma. Robin was the catalyst to get me into coaching. I was astounded at how much our thinking was alike - even before I chose to go down the coaching path. I discovered Robin on my healing journey from depression. He is an author and leadership coach, seriously incredible and can articulate so beautifully, what I share more practically within my practice with clients.Whilst listening to this show, they talked about mindset and how this seems to be the path that everyone is speaking about at the moment. Now I lead with this too in my work but the ‘sets’ are woven into my work with clients. And that’s what I want to talk about today.Your Heartset, your Healthset, your Mindset and your Soulset - from Robin Sharma’s book, The 5am Club. I hope that it inspires you as much as it has me.https://www.franklycoaching.comhttps://www.bensound.com

Ep 53 - The Power of Now - A meditative show
Life is so overwhelming right now and it just seems like everything has been put on pause with almost no end in sight. The news, the confusion, the fears all lead us to despair. However, there is one thing, that if you’re open to it, can make all the difference. Having spirituality.Today I’m going to share with you some excerpts from one of my favourite books, The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. Use today’s show like a gentle meditation. Lie down, close your eyes, relax your body and just listen to the words. Observe how you feel when you listen to the words. I really hope that it helps to give you some respite during this challenging time.https://www.franklycoaching.comhttps://www.bensound.com

Ep 52 - How to set goals during a pandemic
In this episode, I’m going to talk about how to set and achieve goals during a pandemic and uncertain times. This potential second wave of the pandemic is putting us all in a spin. There is so much out of our control. News-breaking uncertainty triggered by the pandemic, the upcoming election in the US or Brexit for the UK and the job market’s shaky footing are just some examples that have led to astonishing levels of anxiety, which has tripled, and depression, which has increased by 2 ½ times since the COVID-19 outbreak.I’d like to ask you this, if the Wellness industry is worth $4.2trillion dollars, then why are we still struggling to manage stress? Because let’s be honest here - and the science backs this all up - stress is the precursor to the majority of mental health illnesses including anxiety and depression. There are a multitude of resources available to us - quite literally at the click of a button as more therapists in varying fields take their businesses online - yet, we are still unable to manage our stress. So in this show, I’m not going to talk explicitly about how you can manage stress, instead I’m going to take the focus away from fear which induces stress and help you to make goals and achieve them during this uncertainty that we are currently living in.This one is not for the faint-hearted. There are some fierce truths in here that are only suitable for those who are willing to take control of their own lives. https://www.franklycoaching.comhttps://www.bensound.com

Ep 51 - How to stop putting pressure on yourself
In this episode I’m going to talk about the pressure we put on ourselves. There’s a difference between putting pressure on yourself and it leading to negative outcomes and excelling at what you want to do.In this show I will talk about the symptoms of putting too much pressure on ourselves and how that can harm us. I will also go into some discussion about NLP and how working towards excellence includes compassion for self, acceptance of failure and resilience.I’ve talked about this topic in previous shows but this time we’re going to go a little deeper and share some helpful NLP techniques to further strengthen change. As always, I’ll be giving some tips to help you move forward and make better decisions for when you do put too much pressure on yourself.Life is to be enjoyed, we often forget that when we’re in the pursuit of happiness and what it means to us.https://www.franklycoaching.comhttps://www.bensound.com

Ep 50 - Interview with actor Elijah Rowen: How to love yourself
In this episode I’m interviewing my very first celebrity! Exciting as that sounds, I didn’t know he was a celebrity when I met him. We just clicked in our thinking about wellbeing and exchanged numbers. Elijah Rowen is an actor. You may know him from the popular Amazon Prime show Vikings or more recently as Zane in Curfew. Elijah greatly believes that “one should plan for what is difficult while it is easy and to do what is great while it is small.” Elijah never knew what he wanted to do with his life until he had finished school and seemingly ran out of options, it was then he decided to study acting. After graduating Irish theatre school he decided to give his all to acting and after great struggle and highly unconventional methods, an agent-less Elijah found himself on the set of History’s Vikings; shortly after he landed himself leading roles in other large scale productions. Rowen is determined to use his trajectory to immerse himself to the fullest not only in front of the camera but in the writing, producing, directing and every other element of this many layered industry. As well as being a great young actor, Elijah is definitely an old soul. He has such an open and grounded outlook on life and being well that I’m inspired by him and the future he will affect for generations to come.In this show we talk about Self-love and how it applies to men. We discuss what Elijah does in his own life to keep himself well especially in his - often volatile and stressful - industry.I hope you enjoy this show as much as we did making it.https://www.franklycoaching.comhttps://www.bensound.com

Ep 49 Interview with Paul Silva - Self-love and addiction
In this episode I’m interviewing one of my faves from the gram, Mr Paul Silva. Paul Silva is a fellow Coach and began his coaching career working with people in addiction recovery and life transitions. I discovered Paul and learned so much from him about this topic which is an area that I don’t cover within my practice.I asked Paul if he would like to do the show because as much as we talk about the lighter side of self-love, addiction resides on the opposite side of this spectrum where if you aren’t able to develop self-love for yourself, this could well be an unwelcome outcome.Like many wonderful coaches, Paul also draws on his own experiences to help others. In this show,  I’m humbled that he was able to share an extremely personal journey with addiction.Paul is currently working as a mentor and life transition coach, with new coaches, as they build their businesses and their confidence. This is an insightful show and one which had me a little lost for words as I listened to Paul’s story. I hope that it helps others to recognise any symptoms of addiction within themselves or others and if you would like to discuss any of your concerns, please do get in touch with Paul. He’s an incredible person who will go out of his way to help and I’m privileged to now have him in my life too.  He can be reached at:Email: paul@paulsilvacoaching.comWeb: www.paulsilvacoaching.comwww.franklycoaching.com www.bensound.com

Ep 47 - How to build Self-love - Part 1
In this episode I talk about Self-love. This is a huge topic and one that deserves a few shows, so this is just part 1. The areas I will cover in helping you to build self-love are based on recent interactions with clients and my community. What I didn't realise is how much this topic would bring up for me personally and when I was putting this show together, I had a lot to share with you.I cover in a little more detail some of the unhelpful and unhealthy behaviours we exhibit throughout our lives when we don’t put ourselves first.I’m going to talk about different scenarios in the hope that the show resonates with many of you.https://www.franklycoaching.comhttps://www.bensound.com
