Segue with Mentorshape | Episode 1 | Entrepreneurship - Education vs Experience
Here’s what Google has to say about the definition of entrepreneurship. "The activity of setting up a business or businesses, taking financial risk in the hope of profit". “Risk” and “hope” are two words that stood out to me, but in my opinion this statement does not even scratch the surface of what entrepreneurs really do and think. On the other hand, the education systems generally steer clear from “risk” and “hope” , at least in the space of business (mainly high school & undergrad. Post-grad is more of a two way learning process than it being purely theory based). The words “risk” and “hope” stems from a more emotional and psychological space,it has very little to do with business and more to do with a deeper thought process, like intuition and gut feeling. Can intuition be taught in an entrepreneurial class? I highly doubt that. By merely selecting entrepreneurship as a class or even graduating from it does not make you an entrepreneur. As cheesy as it sounds, it's a calling.. Or a belief in something that immerses into a cause which transforms you to an entrepreneur. Sounds kinda supernatural right..?But there is more of a structured explanation to this; Entrepreneurial Personality Types (EPTs) which is a personality type that experiences emotions differently, people with EPT are in a constant state of finding “The Flow” . Finding the thing that they work towards passionately and believe that it will be the game changer for the target industry, immersing themselves entirely into the cause of building the product. Some people are just born with an EPT mindset and some garner it through various chips on their shoulders that conditioned them to get into a EPT mindset.Education systems don’t generally expose you to ideas of going outside the norms and challenge the status quo, and understandably so, not everyone wants to take risks and bet on hope, most would choose to take a safer route. The problem with this is, considering the current times, the pandemic has completely destroyed people’s understanding of what is really safe. If anything, Entrepreneurs are now the ones that are looked upto, freedom to adapt to circumstances and understand that failure is a massive part of the entrepreneurial gambit.Learn more on our website.Follow Us on Youtube : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCYbn4Es1tCc-lwTbrATIE4wInstagram : https://www.instagram.com/mentorshape/Facebook : https://www.facebook.com/mentorshape/Linkedin : https://www.linkedin.com/company/67248379Website: https://www.mentorshape.life
