ST. Purple Rain Commentary
Dearly Beloved.  We are gathered here to do a live commentary on one of the greatest rock musicals ever made, Purple Rain.  This movie and soundtrack are the ones that made Prince a household name.  Many of the songs featured in this are the ones you know very well from this artist.   In this special commentary track; We have The Vern, Jordan and  his wife Denelle to give us some great info.  Not just on the movie , music, and Prince.  But also on the many locations that were used in this.  A lot of the sets and locations of  Purple Rain was shot in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  Which is also the location of this very podcast.  It seems fitting that we praise our great city by giving you a great commentary track on a great movie about a fantastic artist.  Enjoy

Bonus Episode: Batman Soundtrack(1989)
Welcome back to our tribute to Prince.  We know we promised you an episode on Under The Cherry Moon.  But due to technical issues, that episode will be delayed.  However, we wanted to give you an episode and we are doing one on the soundtrack to Batman (1989).  Now if you were not around when Tim Burton's version came out.  You have no idea of how huge this movie was.  In terms of marketing alone.  It was way more successful then Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight saga.   Prince composed every song for this movie and when you watch it.  The songs work for many iconic scenes.  Would the Joker's (Jack Nicholson) romp through the art gallery work without Partyman being played.  Not at all. On this episode.  Jordan and Vern go over each song and tell you where it fit in the movie.  We hope you enjoy it   ***Note***   You may hear some squeak like noises in the background.  We apologize for this, but it's just the pet rats Jordan was watching for family members. 4th Episode: Grease 2(1982)
Many of you are probably wondering why we chose to do a show about this and not the 1978 original.  Well, it does have Michelle Pfeiffer and that's a better improvement over that girl from Xanadu.  It does suffer a bit for not having John Travolta, but it does have Maxwell Caulfield. Can you really have too much Rex Manning from Empire Records.   Joining The Vern and Jordan  to discuss this musical is Audrey Fox who runs the site 1001 Movies and Beyond and helps host the podcast Rated M for Macphail (visit the sites by clicking the link).  They discuss why they love this movie more than the original despite it's many many problems. .
