Since COVID has impacted the world, the next few episodes will focus on the work and science done locally in Austin.COVID-19 has wreaked havoc on so many facets of our lives that there are few areas that are untouched. That reality is true also for those battling opioid addiction. The impact on these people is huge, as treatment requires, in addition to many other things, office visits. In a pandemic, office visits increase the risk of contracting the virus. NanoMedical Systems has been working on an embeddable, slow release drug delivery device that significantly decreases the frequency of office visits and significantly favors recovery. Central Texans have become well aware of the impact of invasive Zebra Mussels on waterways.
