Ep. 47 – Alex Creasy – Movies
Noah is using his foot phone to talk to Alex’s vibrating device. Welcome to the Schooling Noah Podcast. Our guest today is Alex Creasy. He’s gabbing about movies. Sure, we’ve talked about movies before on the show. But not like this. Alex hasn’t left his house in what feels like years and is finally getting the chance to talk about what he’s been doing with all his alone time. Movies are very special to Alex. And Alex is very special. We get to know why that is by the things he watches. Believe you me. There is nothing weird here. This episode covers movie recommendations, bad movies, movies that Aaron has never heard of, movies to make you cry, and much more. This episode also talks about smoking weed, Grand Junction in Colorado, the Gallegos brothers, and Noah uses his foot like a phone. What is going on here? Have a listen and find out. Alex Creasy is a Denver comedy institution (according to Noah). He is a genuinely hilarious person. He did one semester in film school and is more than qualified to talk about movies.

Ep. 46 – Allison Rose – Kansas
Arkansas without the pirate talk. Kansas Welcome to another one of Schooling Noah’s podcasts! This week, we are talking to our dear friend, Allison Rose. Initially, this episode was going to focus on therapy, a topic Allison is well informed about and to which Aaron and Noah have had a lot of experience. As it so happens, that wasn’t that great. What was great was Allison’s physical location. Amidst all of the craziness of Covid and quarantine, Allison took a sabbatical in her childhood home in central Kansas. Allison is on location to talk about the serenity and peace of big-sky country. Small-town Kansas has a lot to offer. For one, her closest neighbor is only three miles away. Town is five. What was once a fearful experience of isolation as a kid is now a coveted chance at solitude and reflection. In addition to a tour of the acreage, Allison walks through county living with a couple of city boys. She talks about her prairie home (built 1917) and the tornado shelter and the brown recluses; the one wolf-walking Filipino who was hiding out in town; the cafe that won’t shut down; and how her dad thinks that no matter how crazy people are there, the world doesn’t know they exist. Allison resides in Denver. She is a co-producer and host of the Boulder Comedy Show and is a regular performer at Denver’s own Comedy Works Comedy Club. She’s delightful. Thank you for your support!

Ep. 45 – Andres Becerril – Grocery Stores
The grocery store is the most normal place of all. This week’s episode of the Schooling Noah Podcast features Andres Becerril. Andres is an essential worker and pretty high up on the ladder at the Aurora King Soopers. He is a shift manager at a grocery store. Considering the state of the world what with Coronavirus and all the variations of the Fast and the Furious movies, you can bet that Andres’ job is of the utmost importance. That’s why he’s here to school Noah and Aaron about grocery stores. Andres is not a fan of grocery stores. Grocery stores are incredibly filthy and the customers (AKA guests) are some of the most needy people in the whole entire store. That’s not to mention the employees. These people…have you seen these people? In addition to some of the bad things that happen in grocery stores (whether there’s a pandemic or not), Andres talks about some of the redeeming qualities of grocery stores. Sushi, cleaning, David with glasses at the front desk, and fixing problems for people who really need help (read: Noah). Andres spills it all, then wipes it up. Some of today’s talking points are Coinstar, Safeway’s chicken wing bar, finding love in quarantine, video rental and photo development. This episode also includes golden nuggets like Noah trying his new jokes, spending his $1200 stimulus, Chipotle ordering gone wrong, and sex ed. This is a fun episode and we are glad to continue producing the podcast while under lock down. Andres is a comedian based in Denver. He is co-host to two podcasts that are definitely worth checking out: Joke & Destroy (with Jeremy Pysher) and Los Chupacabros (with JD Lopez and Patrick Scott).

Ep. 44 – Meghan DePonceau & Jeremy Pysher – Alcohol and Bar Tending
It’s easy to feel the spirit of togetherness when you’re alone with your friends. Schooling Noah w/Aaron Maslow and a Special Guest has two Special Guests this week! It’s the wildly ambitious and hilarious Meghan DePonceau and her husband/business partner/partner in crime, Jeremy Pysher. These two go-getters are in the bar business and are here to school Noah and (a very drunk) Aaron on the ins and outs of alcohol and bar tending. One of the most interesting things about these two is their ability to educate while participating. From the history of the IPA to the best way to drink cheap without a hangover, Meghan and Jeremy share vital information for any of us who are always down for a drink. And it comes from their real-life, hands-on experiences. They talk about their bar, Wide Right, and how you can support local business during this epidemic. They also get into the ins and outs of running a bar as a business and donating meal kits during this, the most trying of times. Noah keeps this ark afloat while Aaron sinks into a drunken stupor. Topics on today’s show include the Buffalo Bills, hangover cures, the Mountain Meadow Massacre of 1857, Milhouse, when Christmas parties go bad, sizing you up by your drink choice, what’s in the well, Aaron‘s kids and Aaron‘s kids in bars, what the bar tenders drink, and what to drink before noon. Meghan and Jeremy are not only business owners, but also comedians! Their bar, Wide Right, delivers booze and meal kits. If you’re looking for authentic Buffalo-style wings in Denver, then you need to call in that order. They will deliver. Check out Jeremy’s podcast, Joke & Destroy. And check out Meghan‘s podcast, Hot Buns, and her virtual comedy show, Isolation Comedy.

Ep. 43 – Georgia Comstock & Nic Dean – Quarantine
Just gabbin’ over here about this and that…. Jesus. What the hell is going on here? Welcome to another episode of Schooling Noah w/Aaron Maslow and a Special Guest. What year is this even? This week, we call our dear friends Nic and Georgia to discuss their quarantine. It’s absolutely hilarious. There are no experts here. Just people experiencing history. But in a fun way. It’s like if Anne Frank was on Punk’d. Georgia and Nic are getting married. They are cooped up in their studio apartment and they are stoked to talk to anyone. Today we get down and funky with topics like lines at the grocery stores, the side-ways eye at the park, “Where’s your mask?” Noah‘s empty apartment (and this time he’s not there), Joe Rogan, Criminal Minds, home schooling, Noah‘s graduation, Noah‘s school dance, camping at home and, of course, starting your own podcast. We have so much fun. It’s a good’n. Please stick around for even the bonus bits because they get dicey. This is such a giggle-fest. Thank you for listening. And staying home.

Ep. 27 Sam Tallent – Bullying
Bullies are culled only by love and amputation. This is Schooling Noah w/Aaron Maslow and a Special Guest; a podcast that allows experts to educate young Noah Reynolds and his grandfather, Aaron Maslow. Today’s episode features a genuine rabble-rouser, master of shade, and eye-poker, Sam Tallent. Sam is on the program to introduce Noah, Aaron and our listening audience to bullying. After war, poverty, nuclear armament, climate change, gender inequality and bad skin care is the world’s most pressing issue of bullying. Bullies, it would seem, are everywhere. From online forums to the school playground, bullies have the ability to kick you while you’re down, push you into self-loathing and steal any semblance of hope that may have shone in your heart. Sam joins us to show Noah all of those things. Sam has an extensive back ground in put downs and expletives. For dozens of years he has brought “it” both as a trouble maker and as a victim of senseless attacks of words. He has seen bullying from both sides of the table and illuminates on concrete examples of bullying. Part of being a bully is cock-sure confidence and a support network who is there to build you up; also known as friends. After some gentle ribbing, Sam breaks Noah down and explains that in these situations, it’s crucial to have friends. Noah is doing his best to hang in there and shows promise in the art of confrontation. That is, until it is revealed that he has to leave right after the recording session to go to the mountains. He, his father and brother, Gus, are going pickling after a chilly night hike. This is a really informative episode and shines the light on identifying bullying behavior. Sam Tallent is a stand up comedian who can be seen on Comedy Central’s Roast Battle and on Viceland. He’s touring all the time. Find more information about his whereabouts on Twitter @Sam_Tallent or at his website: SamTallent.com

Ep. 42 – Corona Virus Update
Aaron and Noah call everyone they know who is not a woman. Well, hello there! This is the Schooling Noah podcast with Aaron Maslow and a Special Guest. Today’s show is a special one. Aaron and Noah call a bunch of their friends and loved ones to make sure that none of them have died from what has been dubbed the most trying of times. Coronavirus has crippled the world economy and has killed thousands. Noah and Aaron just want to make sure everyone that matters is alive and well. Who’s on the call list today? Not Nic Dean. John Davis talks about the Broncos, working out and looking like he went to prison. Jacob Moreno and Miriam Moreno talk aborsh, Dominoes and the best Pixar movies. Ben Bryant is driving in what he called his car. Noah’s brothers join the team, Nathan and Gus. So does Ryan, Aaron’s brother, Milhouse he’s called. Michael Isaacs is at work is at the only escape room that’s open. Derrick Stroup, also at work. Sammy Anzer and Elliot Broder. This is a fun episode. We learn that everyone is okay. Except Nic Dean, who, because he didn’t answer the phone, might as well be dead.

Ep. 41 – Patrick Richardson – Beats
Phat beats are hard to teach because they’re hard to talk about. Oh Boy. Ya boys got a little drunk on this week’s episode of Schooling Noah w/Aaron Maslow and a Special Guest. Patrick Richardson joins Noah and Aaron to talk about Beats…not once, but twice! And nearly a third time. Due to a technical glitch, Aaron forgot to record the first hour and a half. This led to a pep talk and regrouping at Charlie Brown’s Restaurant and Piano Bar. The fellas pulled it together in the loosest form of pulling it together and recorded what you are about to hear. Nothing is more important to Patrick Richardson than making music. At least that’s what your hosts were led to believe in the first chat. Unfortunately, there wasn’t much talk of making beats. Maybe making beets was more important. Also, making term papers…Noah has a paper due by midnight!!!! Will he finish before this podcast explodes?! You’ll just have to find out… There is so much going on here. While most of it is great, there are a few slices that will go down in podcast history as the best things ever heard by mankind. Noah, Aaron and Patrick really start moving and shaking when they call their mothers, talk about Croatian vacations, puking and rallying, playing two truths and a lie, describe Noah‘s neighbor’s braided beard and just about everything else. Guess what….there’s a new sketch! This episode is so fun! If you need a laugh, this is your chance to get one. This show has at least one laugh in it. Patrick is a very talented musician and hilarious comedian hailing from Greeley, Colorado. He is the lead singer of It’s Just Bugs. And has one of the best Instagram pages that has ever been: @GiraffeFights

Anthony knows people better than anyone. Anthony Armstrong joins the gang on the Schooling Noah podcast. Anthony is a philosopher and sociologist of sorts and he talks to Noah and Aaron about people. What about people? Everything about people. Today’s topics range from racism to church. Voting and the relationships between men and women. Sex and ninjas. This is a high octane event and is invigorating on many levels. Anthony breaks down so much about how people act, it’s downright absurd! There’s also a new sketch! We appreciate you listening and hope you enjoy our show. If you have any topics you’d like to hear about or people you’d like to hear from, let us know. We are on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. You can also catch Aaron or Noah at one of our many comedy shows. Anthony is originally from Chicago and is now living in Denver. He is a comedian and producer.
