4.10 Celebrate your successes
What makes a good mentor? And what should you do to be a good mentee? In our final episode of Level Up, we'll answer these questions and talk about how to get started with your own mentorship relationship. We're joined by Lucy Lloyd, Co-founder of Mentorloop, which is an online matchmaking site for mentoring relationships. She shares the lessons she's learned from observing hundreds of mentorship relationships in action. In an interesting twist, however, we learn that Lucy's own relationship with her mentor isn't the formal relationship you might expect from someone who runs a business focused on mentoring. Sure, Lucy and her mentor Aaron Wallis guide each other through some tricky business challenges, but they also like to enjoy a few cheeky wines along the way.Support the show: http://www.launchvic.orgSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

And they've joined forces to leverage the power of co-mentoring one another. But … their relationship began under some pretty unique circumstances as well. It all started when Mark turned up to a job interview at Marty's company wearing a neck brace. In this episode, you'll hear some of the challenges they've faced over their careers, the lessons they've learnt along the way, as well as a heartbreaking story (with a happy ending) that really drives home the value of having a mentor.Support the show: http://www.launchvic.orgSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

3.8 Horizons
Envato's capacity to create new products is relentless. They don't all work but there's one product that's tipped to be a very large part of the business in the coming years.  Even in the early days of the company it had created not one but three marketplaces. This is the final episode of the third season.  Share the show and leave a review where you're listening.   Scale Up is a podcast by LaunchVic, Victoria's startup ecosystem development agency. 3.7 Like a spaceship
Envato is strangely unencumbered by external deadlines, forces, companies, weather, politics and many other things that traditional businesses might be.  In the head office on King Street there’s a peculiar but positive sense of calm that exists as soon as you swipe into the building.   Scale Up is a podcast by LaunchVic, Victoria's startup ecosystem development agency. 3.6 Hunting people down
You've never heard of a company profit share like this. Wanting to take a more systematic approach to how the company shares its profit the team at the top gets a small team in HR together to keep a secret and get busy. What they do will only ever and can only ever happen once at Envato.   Scale Up is a podcast by LaunchVic, Victoria's startup ecosystem development agency. 3.5 It’s all miserable, please help.
Being a huge website makes you a big target for people with bad intentions. And when they decide to act it can often come in the form of a distributed denial of service attack - a DDOS attack. What happens when Envato's targeted and how do they respond? Whoever's on call get's to work quickly.   Scale Up is a podcast by LaunchVic, Victoria's startup ecosystem development agency. 3.4 Such a weird number
"When the community succeeds, we succeed" One of the the values (see last episode) and emblematic of the focus Envato retains on its treasured and longtime community of authors. Building the global community has been a focus from the start. It is why Envato can keep diversifying, scaling and increasing the huge amount of revenue that flows through it to the community. 3.3 Tell it like it is
In a Friday meeting Collis Ta'eed's phone starts buzzing. Someone appears at the window. Then half the executive team are waiting outside. Something's going on. It's one thing to have values, it's another to stand by them even if it negatively affects the business. When push came to shove Envato's made those choices. Almost more than any other, "Values" is the word people at Envato used when describing the company. Scale Up is a podcast by LaunchVic, Victoria's startup ecosystem development agency. 3.2 A bootstrapped war chest
Envato has never taken outside investment. For a tech company if this size that’s a very rare feat. While many start ups chase venture capital to aid growth, validation and scale, Envato has been building over a decade uninfluenced by investors looking for an exit. Season 3 - Envato
This season we look into a Victorian company that's best described as a spaceship. Experiencing Envato from within makes the world outside that's not on either side of the marketplace almost irrelevant. Though it's in Envato's powerful and human focused values that keep it familiar, give it a conscience and inspire those who work for or with the incredibly successful digital marketplace. Actually it's many marketplaces. And more. Over 50 interviews with employees of all levels, past and present, reveal what a lightning strike this company is and how it'll have a hand in so much of what we see, hear, watch and experience online.
